How to tie a Sheet Bend - Scout Skills (EP. 4)
Переглядів 73 роки тому
The sheet bend is a knot similar in use to the square knot because it is used to tie two ropes together but the sheets bend is better for tieing ropes of different diameters. Tying the Sheet Bend is a requirement for the rank of Second Class. *I keep referring to the knot as the sheets bend but it is actually the sheet bend with no "s", my bad :)
How to tie a Taut-line Hitch & Two Half-Hitches (EP. 3)
Переглядів 93 роки тому
The taut-line hitch and the two half-hitches are very useful slip knots that have many uses. The main use that I use it for is attaching a rainfly to trees and stakes. Tying these knots is a requirement for the rank of Scout.
How to tie a Bowline - Scout Skills (EP. 2)
Переглядів 133 роки тому
The Bowline is a very versatile knot because it can form a non-slip loop in the rope. When I think of the Bowline, I think of it as a rescue knot. It's the knot I would use if someone was struggling in the water and needed rescue but it has many other uses as well. Tying the bowline is a requirement for the rank of Second Class.
How to tie a square knot - Scout Skills (EP. 1)
Переглядів 263 роки тому
This is the first video of my new series "Scout Skills" where I show skills that pertain to BSA, Cub Scouts, or just outdoor enthusiasts in general. This episode is about the Square Knot, a knot used to tie two ropes together to get a longer length of rope. Tying the square knot is a requirement for the rank of Scout.

I know that this isn't a complete essentials kit (It's missing first ...
Helpful! Thank you!
nice overview. very helpful
Great setup! I use the same tote and many similar items, except I use a coleman liquid fuel stove so I pack that separately. You forgot the marshmallow roasting sticks.
@daleley7645 lol You are so right, I need to add those!
The O C D is strong in this one
😂
ok thanks
Top camp chef ‼️‼️
What camp are you going to this year?
Very nice video! What camp activities do you recommend/enjoy?
For these summer camps I generally enjoyed Water Sports, First-aid, and Knot related activities. I would definitely recommend any water activities as I found those most enjoyable.
@@grayghostoutdoors1748 cool!
Thanks for this great video!
Excellent video. Introduces viewers to the Philmont gear needs and what works. Thank you for the equipment list. As an Explorer Search and Rescue member and as a Scoutmaster we always did pack checks before leaving for a weekend or week long trip. This does bring back pleasant memories of canoeing, hiking and enjoying the comradery. It seems like a lot, but it all is necessary, especially in places where weather attacks without warning. Nice job moving quickly through your gear.
When did you order and when did you receive your bottle?
I placed my order on January 8th and received the bottle on March 23rd. The handle took until April 4th to arrive.
@@grayghostoutdoors1748 are you from US? I’m planning to order, but I’m from Australia.
Yes, I am from the US.
Thank you
There are swim trunks with non-mesh liners, you might find them more to your liking.
You need to speak up more; perhaps it's your chest 🎤!

Anyone with you will be lucky to have you ready with all that gear if they are injured. I like the glow stick idea, never thought of that.
Lol thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful!
wonderful video, 10/10 commentary, tampon is crucial piece of equipment, very informative. cool video
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful!
Boy, did you overpack!
How so? I’m always up for learning something new :)
How did I hear about this channel? Well, my mom told me abt your mom's post on Facebook and found your videos. Really helpful especially considering I'm about to leave in a few days. Thanks!!
