    So do you have to lock everything then close the tailgate for it to be secured from the inside?

      Good question. I'm not sure how to secure from the inside because you have to close the tailgate before closing the back window. I don't think you could secure the latches from the inside.

      @@InPursuit2023I actually talked to RSI and they said you would put it in the locked position and then close the latches from the inside. If you open the lock from the inside with the red button, the lock will still be in the locked position. Therefore creating a secure way to lock the cap. If it isn’t too much to ask, could you confirm this?

    Thinking of the Smartcap on my 2024 F150 King Ranch. I’d be selling my teardrop and sleeping in the truck. What’s the availability of window screens, entry and exit from rear (I have the split tailgate) , ability to lock and unlock from inside and 12 volt and usb options? Thank you

      I don't know about any of those questions other than lock and unlock from inside. The latches can be opened from the inside, but I'm not sure how you'd close them from the inside. If you find a source for accessories, let me know! I've learned that there are rivnuts in the roof that will allow mounting items up there. For example, I'm working on mounting some fishing rod holders up there.

    I've watched dozens of these RSI smartcap vids, and all are very positive. Just one of them mentioned water coming in thru that positive pressure vent on the top. I assume they lived in a wet climate. Have you experienced that at all, or heard such? Also, have you seen any drop off in average mpg with that on the back? It really is the best one out there, it looks so sharp. Oh, and one other question, only one of the many vids said this, but do you have to open the rear window in order to open and close the tailgate?

      We went camping, in Ohio, over Memorial Day weekend, which was cut short by a storm. We drove through the storm, which was strong enough to blow trees down in the road, and I didn't notice anything wet when we got home. You do have to open the window to open the tailgate.

      @@InPursuit2023 I wonder if putting it thru a strong carwash might allow moisture to get in thru that upper vent. Still, nice to hear that you saw no evidence of interior moisture with that big storm. Thanks.

    I got an Evo A delivered today for my 2024 F150. It still has the old locks. I’m not happy about it as I was under the impression that I would be getting the new locks.

      serious? thats BS. I ordered one for the 24 tacoma it better have the new lock system

    • @Scomelbasses
      @Scomelbasses 3 місяці тому

      @@cyranthony just depends on what they have in stock and when it was built. If it was built before Feb 2024 it will have the old locks. If you specified with your dealer that you wanted the new locks and they had a unit in stock that was built after Feb you might be ok. However, if you ordered on line, good luck. I spoke to them on the phone today and am not too happy with the outcome.
