Krofta Engineering Ltd, India introduces very efficient Krofta Oil-Float Preseparator | Oil-Water Separator for #Oil-water separation Application.

The Krofta Oil Float-Pre-Separator is the Conventional type of Oil-Water separator used for the removal of Free- Floating oil (Oil globule size of 150 microns and above) & settleable Solids. A preseparator is a gravity separation unit designed by considering enough retention time & the rising velocity of oil droplets based on their specific gravity difference between the oil & the wastewater. Krofta Preseparator unit consists of a feed channel with a perforated baffle plate to cut down the velocity of running oily wastewater to minimize the turbulence for excellent Oil-Water separation, a Weir plate for water level adjustment, a Roller conveyor chain with Scrapper blades for pushing floating oil to one direction, Sprockets, Geared- motor drive for chain skimming mechanism, Oil-Retention underflow Baffle, Clarified Water sump, etc. A pneumatic timer-actuated purge valve is provided in hoppers for the removal of settled sludge without any manual intervention.
: Oily wastewater which contains Free oil, Settleable Solids, and water coming from the existing process or tanks is fed to the Preseparator.
: Oily wastewater first enters into Feed channel which is an integrated part of pre separator to homogenize the flow to main tank.
: Laminar Flow conditions are created with the help of a perforated baffle plate, which is installed at the inlet of the main Oil-water separator section.
: As oil globules are lighter, move to the top surface & form a thick layer which is further skimmed & pushed by the Chain scrapper mechanism.
: As solids are heavier, settles down at bottom of the tank in hoppers. This settled sludge can be removed at regular intervals from the hopper with the help of Pneumatic timer actuated purge valves which are installed at bottom of hoppers.
: The separated Oil & sludge will be collected in separate sumps outside the Krofta Oil Float unit, which can further be pumped to the desired location
: The clarified water will be collected in a separate sump outside the Oil Float Preseparator unit, which can further be pumped to the next treatment unit like TPI or DAF.
