Unreal, browsing your channel has me tempted to buy a bodhran. What model + beater are you using here?
@DarraghConnaughton-u3e hey lad. I'm playing a seamus o'kane bodhran here. Unfortunately, he's not making them.anymore but you can keep an eye out in Ebay and the likes for a second hand one. His son Diarmaid o'kane has now been building drums and they are fantastic. Other great makers are Rob Forkner (Metloef) drums, Christen Hedwitschak, Seanie McGrath, Ben March. These are just a few but plenty to choose from. My stick is old and I have no idea who made it, was bought randomly over 20years ago. But you can check out good makers like Gordon Falconer (falconwood tippers) and stevie moises tippers. Hope this helps.
@@paulmccluremusic thank you for your message! I've done a little research and feel a Ben March bodhran is ideal. May I ask a few more questions please: * what is the diameter and depth of the bodhran in this video? * What type of goatskin does it have? Ben offers two types: Lambeg or Vellum
@DarraghConnaughton-u3e diameter is just over 15.5 inches and 6 inches deep. It has a medium to thick lambeg skin. Best of luck with the build. Any questions feel free to ask 👍
