Artist's studio visit - Lena Revenko talks about her works, art process and inspirations
this video was created by @polimovie5227
Lena Revenko is a Minsk-born israeli artist whose captivating works explore the dynamics of human relationships, both interpersonal and intrapersonal. Her journey as an artist began in childhood and was later enriched by formal education in art and design, which she complemented with travels and continuous self-exploration.
Lena's creative process is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Her studio, once a neglected storage shed, has been transformed into a sanctuary where old books and reclaimed objects find new life. She meticulously primes her surfaces with pages from these books, integrating their histories into her art. This reverence for the past is evident in her technique, which combines acrylics and watercolors to achieve intricate details and rich textures.
Childhood fears and memories, Soviet children's books, fairy tales, and mythology form the core of Lena's inspiration. She brings to life creatures and characters from a captivating world steeped in Asian and European myths on the pages of old books and origami paper. These figures, seemingly emerging from the ancient pages and written words, captivate and enchant viewers, drawing them into a vibrant and magical realm.
Lena's distinctive style is influenced by her fascination with symbols, archetypes, and the subconscious. Her work often features narratives that invite viewers to project their interpretations, creating a dialogue between the artwork and the audience. Collaborations with other artists enrich her creative output, allowing her to experiment and push the boundaries of her art.
As she continues to exhibit her work globally, Lena Revenko remains dedicated to exploring the possibilities of paper and storytelling through her art, breathing new life into the forgotten and overlooked.

Inspiring story. Beautiful video 😍
Very inspiring ❤
Beautiful work. I like how Lena has not just appropriated the images, but used the methods to create images steeped in her own traditions and imagination. Just some information on Miniature paintings, Sadly everyone thinks India is the birthplace of miniature paintings. It is not. Miniature paintings originated in Persia, the tradition brought to the Subcontinent of India with the Moghuls. Miniature painting is a tradition in Pakistan as well. In this day and age we hope that people take the time to learn about the historical roots and not corrupt the facts. We have enough trouble in the world with people operating under false knowledge, which then leads to exalting one people over another.
Какой народ Вы имеете в виду?
