Marlin Model A1- First Pattern
This is an overall look at the Marlin A1 semi automatic .22 rifle. There were 2 models made, this one being the first pattern. They were made from 1936 to 1946.
Overall I found it to be an ........ ok rifle, needs some work done on it to address some issues but otherwise it is ok for the time.
Disassembly is straight forward and action simple.
Enjoy

BSA SPORTSMAN (Model 1)

I recently came across a BSA Sportsman and I just had to do a video to add to the Sportsman series. It is a fine rifle, well built and very sturdy, shoots a little high but has the basic functions you need in a cheap single shot rifle.

This video is a little test fire of some homemade Gunpowder. I was using Black Label Pyrodex FFG VS my own number 2 grain powder. The follow on video to this is coming, it will be on how I make mine without any expensive or high end equipment.

I have been asked a few times to do this video. The number 1 question is on the size of the magazine tube. The overall length for a modified tube (being limited from 15 shots to 10 ) is 54.5 CM - 21.45 INCH. The follower is the same diameter as any other follower on a tube fed 22.

    Take the rocker cover off and see when inlet valve closes and exhaust begins to open that's the rock, then mark pulley it's either on spark or 180 out, also take plugs out and inspect if they drenched in gas if they were deiseling there would be no fuel if it ignites

      Gday, it isn't too hard to get a gun lisence in NZ. Just have to do the paper work and back round check and if it all goes through then your issued a licence within about 5 to 7 months from application. SMLE are very common rifles in NZ, most came home and used for hunting or on the farms. Also yes, I do reload ammo, much cheaper then buying off the shelf, especially with recent events

    • @olivergardner7664
      @olivergardner7664 2 роки тому

      Gday Alessandro, the basic reply is no. The idea is that the egg has the same propertys as a brain tan. So when the egg is rubbed in, it begins to absorb into the hide, tanning it as it drys. Also "working it dry" is a key, so keep rubbing the hide, working it until dry. Once it is to a soft state then it is ready for smoking, that will help make it waterproof and machine washable. All this will be covered in the next video, not sure when that will be but it's coming

      I guess you get a washer and cut a bit out so you can insert the round. You'll have to play around with the idea. This puller works great BTW, it pulled 54R no worries and loosened 39 well. It still needs work but that's evolution. I would recommend cutting 3 slits in the chamber end cap. It makes it easier to take off. I might make the collecting end the same as the loading chamber as it is being difficult to open to remove the powder and bullet. Static electricity pose's a threat but you should be ok. Hope this helps.
