Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 роки тому
When I mentioned to the kids that we would be taking a weekend getaway to The Broadmoor Hotel, their first question was about the pool. We had to be sure to squeeze in a trip to the pool at least once per day so it could classify as a true vacation. The Broadmoor has two pools-one indoor pool with an outdoor lap pool, and one outdoor infinity pool with waterslides. We spent our time at the outd...

How to Get Your Child in a Soft Carrier ON YOUR OWN!
Переглядів 2543 роки тому
If there is no one around to help lift your kids onto your back, it can be tricky to get them into your soft carrier on your own. I'm sharing my crossed arm technique that will help you lift kids onto your back without needing help! With this method, you avoid bending over (and losing your balance) or finding a spot where your child can climb up to reach your back. I'm using a Kinderpack in thi...

What Kids Should Wear for Winter Hiking
Переглядів 3983 роки тому
If you're hiking in the winter with kids, the most important aspect is keeping them warm and dry. Our motto is "no skin showing!" We went out for a hike in the snow this weekend and my 5 year old, Emerson, shares what kids should wear while hiking in the winter. See more tips for hiking with kids on our blog at www.raisinghikers.com.
Good to know. We will have to try this out.
Can it be front facing?
Bring jellies, always!
Great advice!! Thanks.
I’m going skiing in 5 days and i have never went skiing before and I want to learn how to ski 🎿
The little fella in the background at 3 minutes about to attack Dad after he threw a snowball at him ..God love him, lol!
this sucks
Are you able to just buy a day pass to use the pool without staying at the hotel?
How long have you used the carrier for a single carry? Got a trip to the Smokey's coming up and looking to do some longer hikes (still only 5-8 miles) and a lot of those I know the 3 year old will need carried on. We have 1 year old twins and a 3 year old and trying to decide if we should use two dedicated baby carriers for the babies then use this for the 3 year old when needed. Or use a non hiking twin carrier and use our Osprey Poco for when needed with the 3 year old.
Nice video
After 53 years of teaching people at all levels, here is the best way to teach skiing to people of all ages and levels. 1. Glide down a shallow slope to get used to balancing while moving. 2. Stop at the bottom with a snowplow. This is the ONLY time you will every use a snowplow! 3. Glide down the slope changing your weight and balance from foot to foot as if you were standing on the pedals of a bike. That's what skiing is and what the skis require from your so They can make turns. 4. When you are confident sliding and changing your weight, practice traverses on a slightly steeper part of the base of the mountain. Balancing your weight on the arch of your downhill ski. The inside edge of the ski. 5. When you have reached the side of the slope, you will want to stop. While you are still balanced on that downhill foot, bend your knees forward so your shin is against the tongue of your boot. This will take weight off the back of the ski and put it on the front. The turning part. The tip of the ski will turn into the hill as the tails slide down the hill. 6. Now for your first parallel turn. When you are confident doing the traverses and stops, do another traverse with a little more speed and think about this. You are balanced on the pedal of a bicycle with your hands on the handlebars. When you get to the point where you want the skis to make a turn, point the front tire of the bike down the hill and get off the downhill pedal and stand up and balance on the uphill pedal. Because you have just done what the skis need from you, they will make a turn. Think of the tips of the skis like the front steering tires on your car. You don't turn the tires; you turn the steering wheel. You don't turn the skis; you balance on one after the other. 7. If the skis don't make as sharp a turn as you would like, just press on the tongue of your boot and the skis will turn more. When you are finished turning and want to stop, just hold that pressure on the tongue. if your skis seem to be to flat on the snow and tend to slide sideways during the turn, you apply your other brake pedal. Lean just your inside hip into the hill and the ski you are balanced on will roll onto the inside edge for better grip. 8. No you are ready for the chair lift or gondola with the confidence and knowledge that you can turn, control your speed and stop. If you wait until you are confident with each step before trying the next one, you will allow the skis to go faster. The faster you let your skis go, the easier they will turn and allow you to go slow. Now you know everything you will ever need to parallel ski anywhere.
I thank i'll show this to my job coach cause he skis and has a house in Jackson Hole and also has a son whos one years old, but turns two this year
Thank you......noted tips..

Looks like the whole family had a great time! We are a beach family, but it was fun to watch y'all explore this beautiful area. :)
We really did! Even the adults got to play like kids. We like the beach too (I'm from San Diego area) but are just far from it these days.
That looks like so much fun! I love that you haven't let "bad" weather keep you inside your camper, but that you are still out exploring! Safe travels!!
We have been trying to embrace the "no bad weather" concept and it has been a fun winter! :)
