I sing Music Hall, Chanteys and Folk Songs by myself and with friends so that's what you'll mostly find here.
Somewhere over the Rainbow (miss)sung by Chris Lawley
Turns out I don't know the tune as well as I thought.
Hey ho!. The road joined in, which was nice.
I need a cameraman - my car can't turn round fast enough to catch the others!

I'm sure someone will think of something.... anyone?!
Only Monk would have a humidifier and a dehumidifier lmao
❤
I don't remember ever watching spike Milligan.
Thank you so very much for this Christopher. My mother also taught me this when I was a kid, I am now 75 years old. I have never heard anyone other than my mother sing it.
brilliant
How cool is this. Thank you Chris.
Class ex gunner , superb sense of humour

THE BIG QUESTION
My old colleague, after taking pills for blood pressure with coffee: the better one win!
Nice
Thanks
Well done - doing this properly compared to the 'folksy' versions on youtube. Came here cos I've acquired a song book of music hall songs and wondered if anyone does the 10 verse version.
Thank you! Did not know about a ten verse version. I think I'm not surprised as W G Ross would need a decent length song! I've just realised- I have 3 additional verses now, not yet recorded.
What is the name of the book?
(Songs of ) The British Music Hall - Peter Davison 1971
Not really funny the predicament we're in right now,but couldn't help laughing at this,Spike Milligan laughed at death.
Boris could adopt this as their new initiative for the 'fight' against coronavirus
Lovely job. My grandfather sung this with the boys In North Africa during WW2. A vanished age. Thanks mate.
Go Chris!
i want him to stay
Thanks for posting this! Great great scene!!
British Coronavirus Task Force
That bit of silence felt even better than the final "Exactly." I was longing for.
EXACTLY! This is one of the episodes this week on our podcast!
That is what Boris Johnson says about Brexit
And now its the eu
Absolutely inspired, the best and most energetic version I've seen for years, thanks, am doing it at sessions when things go dead after a slit-wrists singersongwtier contribution too many.
The government on the way to parliament this morning.
I do this at work. I love confusing and worrying people.
You should be in the current government then...
The best moment from the most underrated television series of all time
Definitely underrated. You should check out our Monk podcast!
Wonderful complete version, great tempo and audience reactions, heard this years ago by 3 uncles who each did one of the noises, thanks.

This is one of my favourite shanties I've heard it done by Fisherman's Friend and the Sheringham shantymen. You all bring something new to the song good harmonies which I like very much.
It's never been more appropriate than it is right here, right now
Yes, that's why I am here!
Except now... even more so....
My favorite moment from the entire series ... I described this scene to my doctor who had prescribed a diuretic for me and then told me to drink plenty of fluids. Thanks for posting!
HAAHahaaha! This episode is on our podcast this week!
My great uncle over here in Northern Ireland used to sing this to my uncle. Must have been an old music hall tune.
TMay and the cabinet yesterday
I had the same thought. Great minds must think alike.
The kids' laughter is infectious :)
Stumbled upon this song by accident after looking for it for about 30 years. I'd have googled it ages ago, but all I could remember was the tune. This is awesome!
thank you Chris for uploading this song from farmfest I thoroughly enjoyed your version of Billy O'Shea is a personal favourite of mine along with Fred Dibnah he was a great steeplejack and a great personality hope to see you around soon. I'll definitely be seen along to the chorus of this song.
It's Villa, not willa! Barking resident, 45 years.
Back when Gus Elen was singing Vs and Ws were sort of interchangeable. Back when I sang this my references, including Peter Norris who is related to Gus, suggested Willa, so I went with that. Currently I've 'smoothed' it out a bit to be a muddle of the two This recording, recently posted, suggested Villa ua-cam.com/video/_7tq2YlOc9k/v-deo.html But Roy Hudd, Peter Norris, The Music Hall Guild, and others support Willa...
Ok, I was hoping to find this on UA-cam, i was wondering if anyone else found this as funny.
Kiyoshicats I did!!
yes 😊. just searched for this to show my husband .
Oh, absolutely! What really makes this scene is Stottlemeyer's "Well, okay then...." expression after Monk says "Exactly!"
Probably one of my best episodes 😂😂,, I love them all
Absolutely! This is one of the episodes this week for our podcast!
Great stuff - thanks very much!
What a bunch of fucking idiots have taken a comic genius who fought in the war for our sovereignty, who not only loved the royal family but was a close friend to them and used a clip for a cheap stab at Brexit. Fucking Morons. If your that low and desperate fuck off and live in mainland Europe, but leave classic British comedy alone.
Utter tosh.
Yup. I just shared it on Facebook for that reason
I think we're going to see a lot of this in the next few days....!
You're so kind for sharing. It's not sharing is it? You posted a link you didn't share anything
I need to update this - I found a Tickler's Jam chorus :)
Wonderful! my mam used to sing this to us when we were kids...we laughed like that too! :)
I'm going to learn this song word for word
Well a year on I'm half way through learning it. Better still my 3.5 year old daughter is learning it quicker than me!
That's awesome :-)
Another gem - well done Chris. How about Gus's 'A Nice Quiet Day (aka Postman's Holiday)?'
I ought to do that one, I have a gig on Boxing Day where I was also planning to do "The Finest Flow O' Language Ever 'Eard" along Gus didn't record but is all about a system with an early "Phonygraf". Being Gus, it's another good' un I ought to post the other 3 videos from this performance too.
Well done Chris! (from Roj)
This is a test upload. I'll redo it in a while as I want to try and group things together
Gus would be proud of yer.
