Well the first thing that needs to be done in stopping crime in America is we first have to stop crime in Washington because if the leadership is corrupt then it will filter into society just living like in America is too hard and it doesn't have to be this way because it creates crime when people are struggling just to survive when are tuff and people are backed into a corner it creates a more violent behavior all of this could change in a matter of months but the powers that be want it this way for some reason but until it changes it will only get worse peace the truth is real

I grew up in Denbigh back in 70s and 80s. Lived on Catalina Drive. Graduated from Denbigh High in 1990. I remember participating in the DD parades w my gymnastics team, the Springettes! Lol. Oh, the good ole days.

The former church is literally my dream. I WISH I could buy it and turn it into a cafe/ community space. I have so many pictures of this place, I take them every time I see it. It encapsulates me. I’m breath taken by it, truly.

I live in the River Park Towers, and some of the proposals looked very promising, especially presented alongside the visits to the area increasing dramatically, with just one business opening in 2020. Done correctly, I can see this as a draw to the area, with realized cash flow within two years, possibly sooner. While I am very aware of the plight and expense of the homeless in the area, moving them to an empty church just because it’s free from the Feds would undo most of what Newport News is trying to accomplish in the way of revitalization. Glad to see some momentum in this area, and not kicking it down the road.

Thank you for this interesting video - I really love Port Warwick - I go there often! I do need to mention to you though - Port Warwick is NOT a fictional city - at the time that William Styron wrote Lie Down in the Darkness - Port Warwick actually existed! The 23607 area of Newport News was not Newport News at that time, it was Port Warwick and in 1958 Port Warwick was consolidated and legally all of it became Newport News. Thought you needed to know this. :)
