Metal Detecting on Halloween
I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween.
Metal detecting on Halloween and finding treasure into the 1800’s is always exciting. And doing it with a great digging partner makes it that much better.

Unbelievable! Karma’s instant Payback: How returning $1100 Led us to a secret 1800’s permission.

This is an unbelievable, feel good story of how a group hunt with the South Eastern Ontario Metal Detecting Club was asked to search for a lost wallet ( with $1100) in a 30 acre field. Once the wallet was found, Karma hit huge with an instant payback as we all gained the permission to an 1800’s farm field where we all loaded our pouches with Relics and treasures of past history. Ryan Pugh of ...

Someone had fun editing this one 😂
@@BountyBros1818 figure I’d try something different lol
Nice vid!! 👻
Cool, spooky vid man and super sweet Vicky!👍
Congrats on the sweet ‘76! They don’t turn up very often! They were the first post-Confederation LC’s in which Vicky was wearing a crown and were about 1 gram heavier than the 1858-59 ones.
Thanks again for organizing a great event and to the generous landowner that helped make it happen! 👍 Everyone had a wonderful time and new folks got to tap into the wealth of knowledge from club members. A few nice things got to see the light of day later in the afternoon! What a dandy of a button!
Thanks Darcy
Nicely done boys! Would have loved to have been there... hopefully next summer.
Hopefully you get back for a good hunt like this next season Cam
Congrats man! 👍 Those '76'ers are tough to come by! Only ever come across one so far.
Well I don’t get to keep her, the home owner has requested to keep it, so I’ll have it for our museum day then I have to go find another one lol.
Congrats on your oldest LC buddy....see you tomorrow!
Good for you bud. That's the way to do it! fantastic day over all with amazing finds.
@@TheDiggingDudesOfficial was a group effort of course but still on a high from that day lol
Hey folks don’t forget to like and subscribe to the channel if you enjoy this video, cheers
Well done everyone. Congrats on the days discoveries all around! J
@@Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting thanks Jason it was a great day for sure.
Sweet hunt and great video!
Great recovery on the wallet with crazy $ wad in it! 👍 You guys did crazy good afterwards with so many amazing finds! Wicked find for Ryan on the Victorian militia button and super nice Eddie LC you scored!👍
@@kepvalley thanks Darcy. Which you could have made it with us, next time buddy
Great job returning the wallet, so who was the one that found it?...The thing you found asking for a comment is a saddle shield....most likely turn of the century.... overall nice finds
It was a group effort my man, we all helped in finding the wallet. I lucked out and picked it up off the field. Thank you for identifying the saddle shield. Cheers Dave
Excellent day with everyone, such a privilege to hunt a virgin property. Thanks James for having me along, great day!
Thanks for coming along Cam. Glad you had fun
Great job all. It must have felt good to hand-drop that lost wallet. Some great coins also - that Edward VII LC has some nice detail!
Thanks buddy. It was such a great feel good kind of day. Hope your finding all kinds of goodies yourself these days cheers
Thanks for watching
Great location. Fun hunt... nice to have some AB friends join. p.s The top part of a sun umbrella... Parasol.
@@TheDiggingDudesOfficial I was thinking it was to keep a wheel nut on an old tractor but your most likely correct
@@RelicXPeditions yea we found a few of them over the years. Good indication of old land. :)
Love digging nickels, nice big5.......better finds always show up in the fall....get ready the good stuff is coming!
I was happy to see Cam got the better find of the day.
Fabulous day with James and Zack, good guys with lots of knowledge...it was a really nice day and I learned a lot. Thanks again guys, can't wait to do it again!
Nice collab hunt on a beautiful property! At 4:53 is an umbrella or parasol slide. A couple of decent finds there with the old wheat and big 5 nickel. Looks like the best potential area is under the crop so hopefully you guys can get back out after harvest.
Good stuff
Appreciate it good sir.
Great time out and a nice silver dime! I opened the locket and it was empty but it said ‘925’!
Yes sir was there any doubt lol. Nice find Darcy
Awesome recovery!!!!!❤🎉
Thank you!!
What a beautiful ring recovery and great surprise!
@@PinkPowerAllyTreasureHunter thanks, I love trying to suprise them when I get the chance, but he was watching like a hawk and I thought he saw it for sure even tho he said he didn’t lol
@@RelicXPeditions lol
Great recovery and must have been challenging in that nasty muck bottom and weeds!👍 Might need to check for leeches after that!
@@kepvalley I did a thorough check when I left ha ha ha.

Thanks Darcy. This was shown a few months ago already but I did not get any views, so I pulled this down after 30 views and I’ve now changed a few settings in my channel to try and gain better viewership, so I thought I’d repost this as a test run lol I don’t think it’s done the trick ha ha ha. Anyway thanks for watching buddy
Those dang American ‘65’s! So close! Very nice turquoise and silver Ryan scored!
Nice hunt! That earring is probably silver. Looks old!
I’ll have to do a silver test. Just ordered a kit which I should have done ages ago lol
I really love your code of ethics man. Even in water you are filling in your holes. You are 100% correct on doing that. I've hammered a few holes in the water trying to retrieve an target. 20 scoops later I am still going. When the dust settled and I got target, I had left a gaping hole on the bottom. If someone walk in my path after they would disappear in it.
Thanks Dan. It’s a hard go sometimes trying to fill in these holes but after I’ve had children. All I can think about is twisted ankles lol so I always put in the effort even if sometimes it seems like a waste of time.
Water is quite warm on the river, gold has dried up the last couple weeks but silver is still showing up every hunt.....looks like you were at Sharbot Lake?
@@davearnold9090 the water wasn’t too bad but it’s hit and miss these days. And as for where we were lol. Well… it was an area you know well lol.
I found the water to be ok. It’s definitely getting chillier but still manageable. I think the earring is most likely old silver but I need a silver testing kit. I think next will be a surface breather for arsenal so we can stay down for a while lol. Thanks for watching Darcy see you soon buddy
That would definitely up your game! The naval button looks to be British Royal Navy and could be pretty old. Not sure if gilt but brass usually comes out of the water looking very yellow like that.
@@kepvalley I was wondering but not sure
A cool 🥶 hunt indeed! Hopefully the air temp was warm enough to make it tolerable. Very cool earring! Most likely silver with that toning and looks to have been there a long time. A nice bracelet but dang on the stainless! May have to give it a try while the weather is warm but will likely stick to waist deep at most though once I water hunted it in December but in thermal waders.
Nice hunt, thanks for sharing 😊
Oh yeah!👍
Love when it’s easy digging! Great score with the DII ! 👍🐆🐆😎
@@monkcheetah8203 lol ya that was awesome. I don’t think I’ve come across a surface 1800’s silver before. Thanks for watching
Nice find! I have a fav park too and I always find something!
Awesome man! Sweet score on the shiny religious pendant! 👍Have dug a few but none of the silver side of things yet. Many villages in the area had a ball team going back to the 1800’s and would be super cool if that was the same place they played back then.
@@kepvalley well the park was there in the late 1800’s / early 1900’s, I have found items like musket balls, & an old skeleton key, that should date the park back, however the majority of my finds there are from the 1970’s to 1990’s I believe the park has had some recent changes within the past 30 years which makes it difficult to get to a level with our detectors where you would find the really good stuff. Regardless I get a chance every now and again to go there for quick hunts and I’m always shocked because I usually come home with something of interest lol. Thanks for watching Darcy
Beauty!!
Nice KG!
@@coffeetogojmj it was a tougher day than I was expecting for finds to be honest but was very happy to get the coin in the end lol. Even that earring was a welcome find even if it is junk lol. Thanks for watching J,
@@RelicXPeditions I also enjoyed your different camera angles. Gives some nice visual variety. I haven’t been able to get out detecting lately but hope to soon! Have fun!
Nice beach and great effort! Sweet find on earring and KG6 ships halfpenny! Hopefully the earring tests positive for gold.
Nothing better than a water hunt on a hot day! Nice spot with some neat finds!
@@kepvalley thanks Darcy. Give me a shout if you’re up for a water hunt one of these days? I think I’m going to do a few in the near future, at least during the hot days anyway lol.
4:30 greetings from Ukraine :) what a coincidence. PS Ukrainian diaspora in Ontario is 330k
@@VitaliiThe thanks for watching, & for the information.
Sweet spot and some cool finds! Neat train and sweet old buckle! Quarter sure does look on the silver side of things with that toning. Haven’t yet got out in the water but late summer is usually my go to time.
Cool place to dig and you bet there’s a lot of potential still out there on a property that large! That was a cool hexagonal little med bottle! Those were usually for pills. Some nice horse tack relic finds! The bugs have been something awful with all the heat, humidity and rain.
Great effort put in to try and make a recovery and the hike in is half the battle! 👍 Some nice bycatch finds and quite the pocket clad spill! Very nice Ukraine pendant and chain!
P.s gorgeous beach
Man that is a hell of a spill. Great pendant too. Nice try buddy
@@TheDiggingDudesOfficial I think it’s one of the best beaches in our region personally, however it’s also almost a 2K hike to get onto it and it was 40 degrees yesterday lol. Still had a great day out there tho. Thanks for watching dude
