U.S.A are the terrorists of humanity.
Nothing more than canon fodder...The U.S.A are the terrorists of humanity.
If we don't learn from the past. We are damned to repeat it.
Muhammad Ali was in jail during this period because he was fighting for his rights
Lynda van Devanter wrote her autobiography and it brought attention to the issues that the women veterans in Vietnam also suffered from PTSD from treating the wounded. RIP, Lt. van Devanter....
Lots of memories!
Riposate in pace... Soldati americani e wietkong...
The most important documentary of all the time. I love this movie ! Here from Brasil we salute every soldier , parents and relatives that living this terrible war.
another usless war, killing youths, all for the want to be, police of the world! sad
I’ve been looking for this end song.
Great Respect from France.
Most of the letters are heartbreaking, but the one Ellen Burstyn reads? My God... 😢😢😢😢😢
It was all R&D for advanced warfare.
I first saw this documentary as a senior in highschool for my history class. The letter the mom writes breaks me every time.
Listen to Jeremiah Denton's speech.....then do it again. True patriotism in a time where fools struggle to define it.
He was also the POW who used Morse Code, with his eyes, when he was interviewed. It's on UA-cam. What a great man.... There's also a TV made movie about him. Hal Holbrook played him.
I am a junior in high school and this is the first time I’m being taught about the Vietnam War. That needs to change!
Canvas gang gang 😂
blubber is worth it
How can I get a copy of this on DVD?
I've watched every single one of these videos 3 times or more for one US History project over this stupid Corona/Chinese/COVID-19 virus shit.
fighting for what??
Anyone here from Coleman
Anyone else here during quarantine
Me too.
Look at them rear echelon NVA being dwarfed by the pows . Shiny sks rifles and clean uniforms.
Makes me sick to think of the pussy cowards that spit at these boys because they were too chicken shit to fight for what they believed in. How fucking dare u pieces of shit spit on their memory.
A lot of people have opinions of the best, most realistic war movie, well this is it.
5:55 Star light scopes.
Wonderful boys.
I was living behind iron curtain under Soviet occupation in Poland and can appreciate very well the deeds of these wonderful boys and what that war was about.
9:43 I can't remember his name, but the soldier dancing with the flag is my history teacher from middle school 😄
Blackrose96 I’m glad he made it safely out of that war.
@@marielalla Thank you. I'm glad too. 🤝
Can you believe the U.S had Iron Man helping them fight Vietnam? No lie me and my dad have always loved watching war docs and military movies when I was a kid. Watching this was one hell of a trip back to the past.
FUCK THAT WAR!
I taught 8th grade u s history for 20 years back in the 1980's and I did in fact show this video. I remember when I first started teaching that if there was anything the kids would ask me it would be about Vietnam. The first time I showed it I had forgotten about that brief scene where there was a soldier standing in front of his hut stark naked! As you might imagen that caused quite an uproar of laughter. After that I would stop the tape and fast forward past that scene. Of course the later classes knew what I was doing and would object but I held my ground...lol. I never got any blowback from parents or the administration though. I served 4 years in the USMC from 1974 to 1978 at MCAS El Toro (which no longer exist) but it for the most part it was a quiet time. Those were some of the best years of my life. I used the G I bill to go to college and it payed for everything. I remember that at lunch time there would be military recruiters who would sit up their booth on a small stage in the lunch room. They were not allowed to go up to the classrooms unless invited by a teacher. Well I invited them to my class room and let them speak to the class. And I always told the kids that the military might not be for everyone but it was the best decision I ever made. Semper FI everyone!
Well said. Veteran - USMC (1965/70) Semper Fi.
@@tippski5229 Thank you,
Excellent documentary. Respect and welcome home to all soldiers and veterans!
Excellent documentary. Respect for all soldiers and veterans! The song "i shall be released" is perfect
Welcome Home. 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻
This documentary is simply perfect. Respect for all soldiers and veterans and God bless them! Great songs!
I'm now retired. I was a high school teacher... World History was a course I taught a lot. I would use this film when we covered the Vietnam War era. Even the rough, tough football players would cry. It's a powerful film.
Agreed. Perfect and respectful.
They should've just sent John Lennon to Vietnam for being a prick. Look it up guys. That guy was a huge hypocrite.
How many men's arms did he reach out to shake hands with after pinning the metal did he then realize that they had no hand /arm.....?
Westmorland, wtf? What fucking military strategy was that? Why is no one bringing him to the mat for being such weak fuck?
I had the book.I bought it in 1986.
Really good. I love this documentary. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
