A time lapse of removing the engine. Gearbox had already been removed, but found plastic parts in the oil. Pulled the cams ons side to do the tensioner pads which were bad but didn’t explain the chunks in the oil pan. A small camera down the chain case found the pad on the IMS tensioner paddle to be broken up! So engine is coming out to be stripped...

The first time I saw an actual SLR was when a super old lady was driving one on the wrong side of the road 20mph under the speed limit and running red lights. She pulled into a parking lot and I made sure she didn't leave til the cops came and then they made sure she wasn't going to drive again 😂 she was just too old to be behind the wheel
I've seen a few of these being from Surrey myself. They were assembled in the McLaren technology centre in Woking. They sound absolutely incredible

What mileage has the engine done? I guess the lack of oil change hasn’t helped the wear on the the IMS chain tensioner.
Mileage is about 120k. The bearings etc look pretty good considering, so it’s clearly not had a hard life.
