i wouldnt recommend using a 1.5inch hose to a 2inch wand especially if the wand is anything bigger than a 12inch youll notice major loss of cfm's you dont really hear that woosh of suction from the wand, longer dry times

good call on the honda engine thats better than the normal one i would just make sure to take the muffler off before the heat exchanger so you get the most heat

Hold the spray trigger down on the forward stroke and keep it running until you get to the end of the back stroke. That way the prespray gets pushed down deep in the carpet for easier extraction.
