It's safer to go out as the swell picks up. No “Wilburs" anywhere near the place... Usually 🤙😂

Crowded surf is synonymous with all of southern gold coast beaches. This beach, (duranbah) is northern side of a river mouth with sand banks collecting behind the breakwall that slowly migrate north. Sand is dumped there regularly from dredging the Tweed. This, and the fact that it faces south means it is the most consistent wave in both swell and peaky barreling waves 😎

Fun little barrels ey! This place is between Dbah and snapper. Works best after they pump sand from the Tweed river 🤙😎

I have to agree. I grew up surfing port Stephens area and Sydney. It was really bad around the less populated areas like Burubi and one mile beaches.

Interesting perspective. I've definitely seen a lot of that in my time, though it used to be much worse. There was a period were bodyboarders gained more respect from stand ups when they started charging mental slabs like shark island, chopes and ours. This guy though inadvertently giving the bodyboarding community a bad rep.

Exactly right. Best practice is to look down the line and be sure there is nobody inside before you commit. This takes practise and confidence. Best policy? If your not sure, move to an easier bank with less people 😎🤙

@@danielbelcher_ I grew up in Mona Vale as a kid when it was Over 4ft Sounds Soft but to BIG for us we would go to a Spot at the End of Palm BCH Called Kidys Corner Great little SPOT as I grew besides Nth Narra heading Nth of Mona Bungan,Newy Bilgola Avalon and Whale were next level and Palmy..These Days I live Norah HD near Soldiers BCH,Take Care Dan! 🌅

Ahh v nice! Northern beaches👍. My taste of Sydney was Cronulla. Shark island, the point, beaches and voodoo's. Not going to mention the heavy slab around the corner😜. You guys up north have some bloody beautiful beaches!

Years ago, most breaks had a local crew that controlled the lineup and kept ppl in check. You had to earn respect and your spot in the take off. The result was order and better overall safety.

Your right! It was very peaky and the take off unpredictable. You can tell this when the pack is spread out and not more consecrated on single take off points. This absolutely makes for a more challenging surf and ultimately more rewarding if you snag a good one from under everyone's nose. As for the pulled back pov, I've only just started my video journey and have a limited amount of gear. This is from a 50-210mm lens. Most guys are packing 600mm +. It's freehand as well, untill I can afford a fluid head for my tripod 😜. Thanks so much for the comment. It means a lot 👍😎🤙
