Krakow - Exploring Wawel Royal Castle -- and its surrounding beautiful landscapes.
While in Krakow, I was searching for 'tourist hotspots'. It came upon the idea that I should take a quick glance at this royal castle before leaving the region.
The morning while I was at the Wawel Royal Castle ground, it was very warm. I walked around the corners and turns surrounding the castle but somehow I missed the Wawel Dragon! (I decided to do my morning run after this vlog to capture some photos of this famous statue.).
While each castle yields different vibes, this particular one in Krakow attracts more families ... For a moment, I felt the 'Disneyland' vibes--just for some short seconds of time and space....
On the way out, I almost got convinced (scammed?) into taking a Golf Cart Tour for a whopping price that was clearly exceeded my budget! I merely smiled and said "no thanks" more than once as the driver was pretty persistent and was offering me 'the best private tour'.
After walking away, I noticed this type of 'tour' didn't appear to be too popular (at least when I was on location), perhaps due to its price tags, perhaps🤔.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this virtual walk around the castle and its botanical- -garden-like scenery, and the beautiful buildings on the Castle property.
Cheers!

One thing I love most about slow travel is to be able to briefly explore the local communities. Of course, I like tourist destinations as well. However, the locals are where I got the opportunity to appreciate their realities, their daily lives. The people at this 'swapmeet' were very welcoming and friendly. A wave, a smile, a 'Hello" these are simple and yet universal gestures of welcoming.......
Exploring Krakow Old Town -- Walking Tour
Переглядів 6719 годин тому
I took a thorough walk (as best as I could) around the Old Town Square on a Tuesday morning. It was a relaxed stroll since the high tourist season has not yet started at least it seemed at the time of this vlog was recorded. The more side streets and turns I took, the more I realized Old Town Square is a very spacious space that filled with history. Looking back, I wish I knew how much I have g...
Krakow Old Town Walk - Church of Saints Peter and Paul plus check out the Polish donuts!

After having lunch, I took a stroll along the streets of Old Town Krakow. Along the walk, I encountered many churches in this part of Old Town Krakow. One of them was the Saints Peter and Paul Church. This church was complete in the 17th century. However, the original 18th century statues were damaged by acid rain; hence, they were replaced (Wikipedia). Anyway, my curiosity lead me to take a se...

After dinner, I wanted to explore a bit around the neighborhood. Walking on a Sunday evening was very relaxing. On my walk I saw two Vietnamese restaurants one on each side of these streets. These streets were divided by the big building leading to the tram stop. There are Zabka convenient stores throughout Krakow similar to 7 Eleven in the U.S. I stopped in to grab some yogurt for breakfast. I...

After visiting Hungary for more than three weeks, it's time to slow travel to another country. This vlog is about the flights from Budapest to Krakow with a connection stop at Vienna. Train ride from Eger to Budapest, Hungary.

After a short stay in Eger, it's time to go back to District 9 in Budapest. In two days i would leave this destination to move on to the next country. The train ride was rather pleasant. The only thing was that I got an unexpected opportunity to reinforce my beginner's Hungarian language thanks to a group of students who were chatting among themselves for almost the entire trip. One of them was...

First morning in Eger, a quaint historic city, I took a pleasant walk just steps away from my lodging place. My lodging place and its surrounding walks gave me a very quaint feel perhaps due to its proximity to the Eger Castle. Anyway, i ended up going to a different part of Eger and finally found a great cozy breakfast place. Cheers! Epidemic Sound - Music "Sober" by

I started from Kalvin Ter Metro to Keleti railway station to get on a train to Eger. The train journey was less than two hours. Honestly I did not know how much I appreciated this trip to Eger until after I returned from the trip. Eger is another destination I would like to revisit on my next trip to Hungary. Also, during the editing of this video and rewatching the footage of the Eger Castle, ...

This video was followed by after my breakfast at the McDonald inside the Westend Mall. However, as I began to (attempt) to head back home, the unexpected thing happened when a portion of the M3 was shut down. I then had to learn how to navigate back to my rental place. Of course, I could have used the 'bolt' (like that of Uber) app to order a taxi; but that would not sound too exciting at that ...

I found the McDonald inside this mall was quite tastety compared to last time I ate at a McDonald in California. I got an egg mcMuffin with cheese, a DELICIOUS apple pie, and a cafe for $5.68 usd. In the end, all went well (Whew!!!). That's the exciting p...

After getting the train tickets, I wanted to explore the surrounding streets near the Keleti train station. I crossed the street to a promenade. That Pho Lovers restaurant used to be a donut shop, we used to get our jelly fills, bear claws and glazed back in the 70s and next to it was a Hanshaw Liquor, the post office behind it is still there. Across the street was a Wonder Bread/Hostess outlet lots of Twinkies and Ding Dongs😂 and behind that was lots of cows. The 711 on Magnolia has been there all my life, used to get Slurpees with Star Wars, Marvel and monster cups and comics. Across from there in the 90s was Chinese Video I used to rent Hong Kong films of John Woo, Jackie Chan and Tsui Hark. The lady that ran it was surprised that some blue haired Mexican dude would know about that.😂

The architecture of Kálvin tér reminds me of the set of some sci-fi movie. I can almost hear the computer generated human voice. 6:56 Station traffic controllers work very hard. The Keleti railway station is considered the most difficult workplace among the Budapest railway stations in all positions. This is indicated by people who have gained experience at other stations. They usually bothered me for 4-5 days, they don't know what to do. Traffic control should be thought of like an airport. Only here you cannot send the train to a new round. You can do this at the airport. At the Keleti railway station, the 6th track is the longest, about 500 meters. You went to about the middle of the track. 9:29 CFR Calatori (Romanian railway) sleeping cars in the foreground In the background, the ÖBB (Austrian railway) Railjet pulls up for departure. Czech, Slovak, and Polish railway cars are also frequent. During film shoots, mainly steam locomotives and old passenger cars.

From 4:44 two FLIRT trains are visible on the left. He left for the nearby Gödöllő. This is a settlement near Budapest. Here is the Royal Palace and an agricultural university. Sisi spent a lot of time in the castle. If I say Empress Elisabeth of Austria ( and Queen of Hungarian Kingdom), it might be more familiar. On the station there is an old building, the Királyi váró (royal waiting room). Today it functions as a cafe and a small club. The university is international, with frequent Asian and African students. Unfortunately, during the renovation of the line, dense noise protection walls were also placed in the interesting places, so the trip is a bit like a tunnel. But there are still nice parts left. Gödöllő can also be reached by a local train (HÉV), which departs from Őrs vezér square. During the renovation of the railway line, the HÉV station and the railway station were combined. On the right is an ÖBB (Austrian railway) Railjet train. It was very new about 16 years ago. Today, this novelty has become very worn, and they are breaking down more and more often. From this, passengers perceive the delay and the different train. The music reflects my feelings about the railway station very well. Its current state is not worthy of its function.

Absolutely the WORST airport in all Southeast Asia! Did this same trip in February '23. Arrived at SGN at 05:35 for a 08:55 departure. Didn't emerge from the Security queues (to LEAVE the country!) until 08:05. I DO believe there was a lot of intentional airport staff foot-dragging going on. Hopefully I can avoid this horrid place in the future.

I grew up in Huntington Beach and I remember when they built this mall. I was there every weekend. There was a really cute little restaurant in there that we would go to on Friday nights and they would show old little rascals movies and my sister and I would go spend our allowance at the mall and my favorite place to go was to a bookstore. That place was always packed when I was a kid and I remember my friends and I going to the movies over there
