    I can say as a site plumber on price work, englebert Strauss are second to none. I used to have snickers but they are overpriced and just don’t last. I’ve battered my Strauss trousers for 18months and absolutely love them. I have Strauss s3 safety shoes and again the tread wears out first before the shoes give in. 5⭐️

    Even though this video is 2 years old and the tools even older this is still one of the demos out there . The onky one that confirms the kss60 can be used on normal mafell rails . Anyone know if it fits the flexi rails or is it just for the 40 ?

    Agree with you on redbacks also find them heavier than another slip in knee pads which even with a belt on makes you miss landing in the correct place on the pad

    Starrett is all abut precision. They don't use stainless because it has a higher thermal expansion coefficient than mild steel, and it's also more brittle at low temperatures. Take care of your tools, keep them clean and oiled, and they won't rust.

    Gees, so much wrong information in your video. We having a saying in Australia. Shut up ya bloody whinging pom. All you guys do is whing about nothing. Kinetic did 3 squares, cast steel, cast stainless and cast gun metal. The kinetic squares in my opinion are more fiddly to install the blade compared to a Starrett. Starrett blades are hardened steel, not stainless like you mentioned. Starrett square heads have small wear tabs, that will wear over time. If the tabs wear unevenly or the square between out of square the small tabs can be filed. Kinetic squares do not have wear tabs, it can be adjusted and will not last as long as a Starrett. Starrett are the pioneers of combination squares, the best in the business. I have a vast collection of combination squares from all the top their manufacturers. I have all 3 kinetic combinations squares. I’ve got a starrett forged steel square head that’s I’ve been using for 23 years in the heavy metal fabrication industry, it’s my daily combination square and it’s still accurate to this day. I’ve drop it 10 meters off a boom lift and it’s still fine. I’ve haven’t had to file the wear tabs yet.

    I have both the ks120 and ksc60 festool saws and they are very good not perfect but close. I looked at this saw only today thinking about the limitations of a smaller saw and needing to cut bigger stuff recently I think the bosch could do that. How have you found it now you have had it some time?

      Funny enough, Mafell JUST announced the P2-18 (or P2S-18), the 18V CAS version of their P1CC. They may have updated the motor, but I'm not sure. Takes the same thicker jigsaw blades as the P1CC!

    I dont think the word ' produceable ' is a real word. I think the word you were looking for was ' productive '. Fair play though, my mate almost 30 years ago came up the word (based on equal low IQ) .......cleverity....even if it was a real word......you clearly dont have any......and nor did my mate.

    Clearly a hit piece by a Brit. These are the penultimate design created by the innovator of the combination square. This guy has feeble hands who can't handle the simple spring that creates the square angle that this tool registers on. Do not listen to this advice and I recommend you try this item and decide for yourself. I was baffled by why this person said what he said about this nice piece of machined hardware and the only reason I can come to a conclusion has to do with an Independence Day and I think that is just silly. Use your Freedom Units with pride and enjoy this bit of measuring perfection and thank me later.

    5:00 in defence of Redbacks. They are excellent knee pads and i have had mine for 12 years and they’re still going strong. When you buy work trousers make sure they are the correct leg length for you. I go for the twisted leg made by Snickers. The pads are always in the right position. Leg length. Very important!

    I know this is probably too late to matter, but the problem with getting the rule onto the square portion is pretty typical of a lot of combination squares. With the Starrett, the quickest way is to start the rule in the correct direction to meet up with the pin inside the square. Once you've done that, push the adjuster up which is spring loaded and then slide the rule onto the pin. Once its started, you can let go of the adjuster. It should slide right on from there. You had also mentioned it wearing out over time. A lot of combination squares have a fine adjuster pin inside that you can file if necessary and in some cases a screw that you can set to adjust the squareness. I have a very old Starrett combination with all the parts and it is still quite accurate.

    I've the corded version and the first thing I did was get with of the laser and fit a cod for shadow line, Works 10x better and also added rubber on the bottom of the existing dust collection.. it's still garbage though, I love the Saw but having now cut MDF skirting in the house with a super powerful Miele connected and still found Dust everywhere I'm now looking to sell mine and buy a KS 120 instead, Other thing is 190mm skirting and trying to cut it flat at 44.5 and 43.5 is almost impossible to get the bevel to those settings.. KS120 will be my next saw I think.

    @duckmcduck007 Рік тому

    The starrett has a spring in the screw, meaning you don't need to fasten the screw all the way, it will hold fast, but then if you need to move the ruler, you can pull down the screw, and it will loosen the grip on the ruler for quick readjusting, then let go and the ruler is once again held fast.

    Well what can I say, I bought mine back in 1961 when I was an apprentice Pattern-maker costing me about £20 back then for the complete set. Of course back then the scale was imperial with graduations down to 1/100 of an inch. I have retired now but still use the tool regularly for my private projects, so apart from general maintenance it remains the perfect tool it was when purchased and the only downer is that someone stole the scriber about forty years ago. So in response to your comment about difficulty in assembly either Starret’s quality control has deteriorated over the years or you just have a bad one and you should not just send it back but exchange it for another and do a further review.

    I'm not sure what the name is... Something ridiculous like scruffs trade flex pro plus minus stretch pockets holster flaps... But I bought them about a year and a half ago to replace my snickers all round work trousers... Which lasted about 3 months... And other than the scruffs logo washing off the leg, bit of scratching on the pockets where my cutters go they're pretty much as new... Only problem is they're too hot if you work in doors, which I now do, hence me watching this video 😂 But yeah would recommend them, can't vouch for the cheaper pairs though

    Last month I bought a Starrett 6 inch to replace an inexpensive Empire that had become hard to operate and that would no longer hold a setting, somewhat like the one you started your review with (but not that bad). I got an easier to use tool, but it is not as good as the Starrett 12 inch that I bought used years ago. However, the new Starrett is 0.010 inch out of square over 6 inches! Their quality has really gone to hell; they are not the same as the old Starrett at all! I left reviews at Rockler (where I bought it) and on Amazon (at least I submitted one; hope it shows up) warning people away. On my own channel, I plan to submit videos showing comprehensive accuracy testing of the two Starrett combination squares using professional metrology equipment (already done), and also my planned attempt to fix the 6 inch.

    Not trolling. Honestly wondering. Why going back to steel head from titanium? Also why switching to a titanium handle vs hickory... Gimmick Big time. Cmon. That thing is over 2 lbs. My 14oz Stiletto with hickory handle has less vibration at the head because its titanium not steel. The handle is hickory which has less vibration than your titanium handle and it only weighs 1.25 lbs. Seriously get back to me with why you would use that hammer for almost any task over a titanium head hickory handle hammer.
