When can we expect the artbook?
Hi Will !! thank you for the patience, here you can follow the updates zoop.gg/c/zurdo?updateId=1070 , it should be ready in no more than a couple of months, will keep updating on my social media as well :))
Love to see it! Especially the part where you're a competitive gamer as well!
So cool!
Stellar work, dude!
Nice You're my Top 10 favorite comic book artist. Im always surprised when even the best say they use references.
Absolutely loved this! Learned so much about traditional rendering and coloring techniques. The way you build up layers and blend colors is truly next level! This really helped me improve my approach-huge thanks for sharing your process!
Wow, this was super helpful! Learned a lot about traditional rendering and how to approach coloring with more depth. The way you layer and blend colors is really inspiring! Big thanks for sharing your process-definitely helped me improve!
Glad you found it useful!
Look amazing !!!
This really drives home how sarisfying it is to FINALLY break out the pens. In a world of digital conveniences, the inking step is still on paper, and I get it. ✍😁
How do u decide when to use pencils vs markers? At first, I thought u were just using pencils for a gradient effect, but then u started blending with markers. And it doesn’t seem that u used different mediums for different textures either, because both were used on both skin and cloth. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
Yes, it depends on the “look” I want to achieve, I usually think about how I want the end result to look, for this I didn’t want the classic black ink render with colors, I wanted my lines to blend in with the markers and have a more realistic look to it. So that’s why I “inked” the piece with prismacolors first, always picking darker value tones but with a similar color of the area I’m tracing, dark blue to the blue suit, dark brow to the sking, etc etc. that way once I start adding the markers (which blend really well with the prismacolors btw) I can have the boundaries of my areas already established by my lineart, and that’s where I start adding shadow and creating depth and mass with the markers and at the very end I go back with prismacolors again to define shapes, add gradients and darken any shadows. Hope this helped!
@ Thank you! That is very helpful and generous of you. And this piece looks great!
Hi Jorge. Can you show us how traditional comics were hand colored? I know they used to kind of screen print them when they were on newpaper type of paper. Was there a phase between that and computer coloring?
Great question! I’m not very familiar with how it was done in the past but I think it was screen printed rather than using acrylics or watercolors. Then digital came into the picture and it was the industry standard for as long as I remember.
@jorgemolina4264 I became curious when I noticed that inking was always done to pencils 1st. That made me wonder, how do they add the color without going over the inked part? Thanks for your reply.
What marker are you using
For this I used mainly OLO markers
Never seen your work before tonight your great and one of the best teachers I've seen on UA-cam in a while
Thank you! That’s quite a compliment.
Thank you for making this video
Perfection!
thank you for sharing this. I have questions, like...what kind of paper do you use? dumb stuff like that, but again, thank you for so much.
Thanks! It’s a watercolor Saunders Waterford paper
Nice work...
What type of color pencils did you use?
I used Prismacolors
@@jorgemolina4264 Thank you sir. You're the best
Your anatomy is spot on
I use magic poses too. It's very helpful. Thank you for sharing your process.
great video would love to know the supply list and paper you are using?
I've been meaning to ask if you could share the link on the background music that you use during these process videos because they're calming and I'm digging the sophisticated air or vibe 🎧😌💆🏻♀️🌌
Este dibujo me impactó desde que lo ví en threads!!! Qué privilegio ver el proceso👏👏👏 muchas gracias Jorge 😊
Lo aprecio mucho, gracias a ti !!
Amazing results!
Very nice dude👍
That's Awesome 🔥🔥🔥
He looks like C.Ronaldo 😅
@claytonyoung1351 Cristiano Ronaldo... i totally thought it was him by looking at the thumbnail.
May i ask what paper are you using to create such an awesome piece of work ?
Would be cool to see you do the actual sketch
Hi !! I have the sketch timelapse of this piece posted on Instagram if you want to check it out :))
what's the name of that 3D app?
Magic Poser
Awesome stuff
Cool technique! Have you ever tried watercolor (either tube, pan, or pencil) for doing the gradations? It seems like they would work well together.
Yes! I have a love/hate relationship with watercolors. I’ve been using it for other commissions but I still yet to master it, I tend to use it for more organic images where I can be more free since I still don’t know how to control it well, might be a personal perception since the volatile nature of watercolor it what makes it charming…guess is part of the artistic journey
Really enjoyed watching this. Learned a bit, questioned things that are trivial. I applaud you on the work, subject manner (never heard of the character) and your explanation. I will say, for blending colors without the color blender, as you already know, you can always go over the darker color with the lighter tone to get an even smoother gradation. And it's fairly minimal with each pass. Kinda fun too. Hope to see more soon! Have a great day!
Thank you for watching, glad you found the content insightful , I’ll try to share similar tips like these in the future
Oh man!!! I saw this one in person, when Ivan showed it to us at his house! Truly remarkable!
Truly masterful work!!!
THIS WAS SO FUN TO WATCH
Beautiful work, Jorge!
Thanks man! 🙌
Cool..but as a fellow lefty, I could never balance the pencil with my middle finger...index and thumb. Standard tripod. Great job!
Internet can be harsh sometimes, but giving us the chance to see masters like Molina drawing and painting is a bless. Amazing work man, very inspiring 🔥🔥
