Had a mating pair in the oak in the backyard. Blew me away they would hope all those branches to nest in the upper part of the tree. They would take turns catching bugs I mowed and take back to their young. Pretty cool to see

How big are these birds? We have similar ones in Europe, and they fit in the palm of a person.
About the size of a dove or a pigeon, they can be a bit bigger and they are smart. Run very fast. In Texas they call them "Rails". They bend over tail comes up when they are running.
