I'm not a clean person but once i have an empty water bottle or two and some crumpled receipts on the floor mats i clean it out. I could not possibly fathom being one twentieth as disgusting as that.
I'm the same exact way, Every time I stop and fill up I'm cleaning out and emptying all the trash while I'm waiting for the gas to pump
Be careful with the sponsors that demand positive reviews in exchange for free product. Nothing wrong with featuring free stuff you got, just keep it honest that it was given, and be honest how the product is. Merry Christmas !
Exactly! I'm definitely going to use the stuff and review it over a while, If it's not any good, then I definitely won't try to push it on anybody.
Merry christmas
Merry Belated Christmas to you my Friend🎅
Are those the recalled HF jack stands??? 😅
I sure as hell hope not🤣 Ill have to double check that
hell yea u seem chill down to earth i f w it
Keep up the Good work Brother! Merry Christmas to you and your Family!
Thanks Man! I appreciate, Happy Christmas to you and the Family also 🎅 🧑🎄
👨🔧
🤣🤣 Love it
Marry Christmas bud glad it’s going good! All the footage I had when you came to see me got Corrupt or lost. It’s just gone. Channel is doing good way better than mine I can’t get views to save my life. Keep it up man.
I appreciate it, Merry Christmas to you and your family. I been trying my hardest to get this thing rolling. You have good content man, I enjoy watching your stuff. It seems like you do quite well with it
@ I’m getting there.
Tow truck sounds a lot cheaper than a new fly wheel.
Regardless it already needs a fly wheel, He's just gonna chew it up as much as he can until he absolutely has to get a new one.
Hey nick awsome setup bro im like you i have a relationship with my tools also😂 its better to have 2 car jacks couple times i wished i had my spare jack with me especially when your alone doing a job i also bought a transmission jack not just for transmission i also use it to lower fuel tanks thank you for the content and you have a great xmas
Thanks my friend, I like to keep it simple and just have good quality tools. In the future i will definitely get a bigger lightweight aluminum jack. But for now its good. I love my tools, they have helped me achieve lots of stuff! I appreciate the support , it means alot Merry Christmas!!
Congratulations Nick good luck to you
Thank you my friend
Sounds like it’s starting to come together for you
Yes, Im putting in the work. Hopefully, it all pays off!
Believe me, it's jobs I don't do. Number 1 is tune ups 😁.. folks will buy cheap spark plugs & wires sets, ignition coils..etc then call me 2 weeks later hollering "my car ain't running right! the engine light is flashing, it's shaking." when people see the cost of real OEM parts they tend to buy "to good to be true" parts 😂
Yup its annoying how cheap people are, and it really affects us. That's why if I always do something like that I will tell them up front, If I don't supply the parts, I also don't supply the warranty. The only thing I guarantee is that the part was installed correctly. If I have to come out again because your part failed, Best believe you're gonna get charged the same price as the first time I installed it to re-do the job
good video bro,its expensive but I'd suggest you get that Badlands offroad Jack when you upgrade, if your doin mobile work n gunna b taking it in n out the jeep n possibly working in gravel n shit on occasion, I bought mine a year ago for offroading but it became the only jack I use, it's just so light n maneuverable and can go over cracks n pebble's no problem, its fairly low profile for doin cars n shit but also has a big ol lifting capacity for working on pickup truck n lifted jeeps etc. 👍
Thankss for the Suggestion! Do you by any chance have a link? Also how much does it weigh?
Weather is the reason I have my local mechanic do an oil change in the winter. No garage in Minnesota. I'll be back to shade tree mechanic when it gets warm......
I watched some mobile mechanic videos. I'll watch this one
@@surf6009 thanks 😁😁👍👍
What part of Florida are you in? Does it pay to be a mobile mechanic?
Im in the Orlando/Kissimmee/Davenport area
I'll be honest, I'm still trying to catch a groove. But from what i've seen so far i'm going to say yes You have the freedom of working for yourself, You could potentially make hundreds of dollars in just a few hours and already make more than you would of at a day job and then you get that free time to live life
When matt Parker does not post for a week….you’re going be the first one on
😁😁😁 I'll make sure to post twice a week just for you I really appreciate the Support
@ I am so seriously down to watch youtubers do the youtubing…San Diego California is 👀
I cant thank you enough, just wait until you see what I have coming up soon 👀👀👍👍
Back in 2004 I couldn't wait to move from Florida back to Massachusetts. Florida is now a shit hole, cesspool of people and its way too hot
I bought a 2014 F150 3.7 for only 5k at my local auction. It was a commercial vehicle with a clean Carfax and it came with a tool box on the back. Its 2wd but I don't plan on working off road or in deep snow.
Thats a great suggestion! I'm also working on getting a dealer license/auction license too so that'd would be perfect for me to do And same here I definitely would not need to wheel drive in florida
@@NickTheMobileMechanicOh mine was a public auction I didn’t wanna deal with all that and needed a truck asap. They call it an auction but it was more like a dealership kinda weird.
If your doing oil changes I recommend getting a pick up gets mighty nasty
@@benm5651 That's my goal eventually But for now I'm just building up what I can without going into debt
What is you experience
@@Mustangg16 what do you mean?
@NickTheMobileMechanic your experience? You said you had done thousands of oil changes? Where have you worked on vehicles before .
@Mustangg16 I ran a shop up in maine for quite a while. And I went to automotive repair school where we had a full service shop. I first started when I was a kid doing small engine stuff
Love you videos Nick
Thank you my friend 😁 I Really appreciate the support!
So sad you didnt move to oregon. I love hiring mobile mechanics. Had used 2 in the past but they both moved on.
Thanks for supporting us small guys!
Great video. Thak us along on how you set up your "SERVICE TRUCK" AKA your jeep.
@rs2343-o4e yes that will be my next video or 2 coming up!
0:22 i use that, i like it a lot for the price.
I like it so much i bought a spare😊
@@NickTheMobileMechanic hhaa
Id say get some star sockets aka the "E" sockets for anytime you need to deal with a mercedes or something that you may run into also those extractor sockets will be good to have on hand too
Yes I actually have all of the stuff you mentioned, I'm posting a video tonight of all the tools that I have. Thanks for this suggestions, I hope you get to watch it
good work!
Thanks 👍👍
Watched 2 UA-cam video about being a mobile mechanic going to get my own stuff hope it’s not to different from being a server
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good Luck, anything is possible
Never do it in the customers driveway 0w-20 +hot engine+small breeze =huge mess
Huh? I I used 5w20, the engine was cold, and there was no breeze. I know what im doing here
I would take off the glove before handling the key or touching anything on the interior. It’s always annoying to get back a key/steering wheel/shifter with oil residue. But still excusable if good work is done
I get what you're saying
nice to know you're 10mins from my house in the beginning of video
What town are you in?
Good luck on the business but I do have a couple of 'Karen" suggestions. Maybe you took the oil filler cap off first but didn't show it but it allows more oil to come out and come out faster. Also, I would never let anyone put Quakerstate oil in my vehicle. Costs a little more but I only use Mobil 1 or Castrol Synthetic. If you do happen to spill any on a customer's driveway, Simple Green does a great job on taking oil off surfaces.
Yes I always remove the oil cap first. Maybe i didn't show it. And just like you wouldn't use quaker state oil , there are people that wont use mobil 1 oil. What is your basis for being against it? The oil i used is their most advanced full synthetic they offer
@@NickTheMobileMechanic I guess I'm somewhat stuck in my ways and have never had a problem with those two oils and I read that Mobil 1 makes the oil for Toyota and that's what I drive. I've also had many mechanics as customers and they suggested them as well.
@toddmoats8918 i personally love mobil 1 oil, but for certain vehicles i tend to use certain oils. And also I always like to use the highest quality of each oil brand that i buy from. I dont think id ever use basic quaker oil, but I would use any premium synthetic oil as long as it's compatible. I value everyone's opinion as we are all entitled to our own, I appreciate the input
Also. Watch the video starting at 3:30 to answer your 1st suggestion
I bought a Milwaukee pack out (3 drawer) its heaven sent.
Yeah i've been looking at those They look great
Wasting time and money to do oil changes as a mobile mechanic! I would never waste my time doing that. Costs the customer way more and you dont make anything!
Don't take the wrong way But you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about
Ive came to that conclusion too adding things up who knows. We arent out there irl doing it. Plus, having a person that does it right and properly ultimately establishes a really good relationship between the mechanic and customer. That is more valuable than money because they will have that trust in you and probably no one else. This chap here is starting down the right path
@glenbenton4855 Exactly. Just like I mentioned in the video, I don't make much money. But small jobs like this lead to other jobs that are bigger And I didn't show the part where I came to his house the first time and looked everything over and told him what the car needed.. Doing inspections during oil changes is what really makes the money, And you are right it's not all about the money every time. It's about building up your name and establishing trust
@ 100% percent lad, some people dont know and will never know jack about their car. Word of word gets around and who knows, perhaps you might get someone to work someday and that will mean the world to them. Best of you to mate, and most importantly safe travels
@glenbenton4855 Thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it
Would you add a link to buy the gloves
Yes let me see if i can find them They are challenger gloves, 13mil. They are so thick and awesome, I love them!
nice to see, greetings from the Netherlands.
Oh wow! I have a friend in Maine from the Netherlands. That's awesome! I really appreciate you supporting the channel !
I’d suggest making the videos per car
Right but read the title, I wanted to showcase my biggest and busiest day since becoming a mobile mechanic. Alot of my videos will be singular vehicles but i want people to see how much is involved in a whole day also
From Ontario Canada . Keep the ball rolling and do your best . Subscribed and followed .
Thanks for your Support!! It means the world to me!
what are you using for filming?
This video im using a samsung galaxy s20 ultra. But now Im starting to use my go pro 9 because its easier and more maneuverable.
Don't leave the house unless the customer prepays your travel & diagnosis fee
doin great man, always nice to have a mechanic around that is typically cheaper than most. you got a bright future comin if you keep this up
Thank you so much My plan is to be the best I can at this I just want to do good work and be my own boss😁
hey dude just from watching video you can see the coolant level is low !!!
best of luck sir. this is a great idea for a business.
Thank you very much!
I'm in Port Richey FL---2019 Subaru Outback---Would you be close enough to do an oil change?
Im roughly 2 hours away, At the moment it would be hard for me because my wife is away and I dont have help with the dogs. But once I get rolling a bit more, I'd definitely travel, And especially if you would let me record the interaction for the channel
New crush washer??
Not all drain plugs have crush washers, Some have O ring style washers, In some do not have washers. The washer is built into the plug This one did not have a crush washer
I heard the belt squeal. I like to completely look over cars that are new to me. Usually spend an hour going through checking everything including a test drive. I then have a good feeling of what the car will need over the next year or so. That includes all exterior lighting, cabin air filter, fluid level/condition, brakes/suspension. Top off washer fluid, check wiper blades, tire pressure/condition. I also like to do complete jobs. Belt tensioner on an old car like that would be a belt tensioner, belt, and any idler pulley. Rockauto sells the entire ket for minimal amount of $.
Yes this was actually my 2nd visit, the 1st visit was when i met him and we went over the car together. I found that he definitely needs a belt and tensioner along with front brakes. I appreciate the input, It really does help. Also thanks for watching!
@@mph5896 and by the way, nice channel! Lots of video views😁 Impressive!
Why does every mobile mechanic literally do a drain n fill on oil changes? What about checking air filter tire pressures lubing front end light check belts and hose check? Front end check for loseness
Who says I didn't? This is my second visit to him, I already looked over the entire vehicle and gave him a list of everything he needed. There's nothing to lube in the front end. And all of his tire pressures were checked two days before when i met him
👍
Good Luck with your business. I left the shop and on my own 2025!
That's great to hear! Isn't it a great feeling to be doing your own thing? Good luck to you, my friend!
Same im doing pretty decent alot of money to be made out here
Good Luck! I'm so glad I made the Leap! It was so worth it, I should of done it sooner
Consider a plastic tarp under the car while working. You're going to run into a driveway with brand new concrete pavers and a car with an oil filter that is poorly located and drains onto frame members. Also, accidents happen. I always use a new aluminum crush washers with my Hondas. I once stripped my drain plug, because some previous service used a short drain plug designed for a steel pan and the car I bought had an aluminum pan. So, you're going to run into something that's already wrong and get blamed. Never had a double gasketed filter and you won't because you clean the mating surface. Good luck with your business.
Thank you for the suggestion, I recently started carrying cardboard since a lot of the things I recently bought came in boxes, So I'm just using all that stuff up now. But you are right, A tarp would be a great idea, I definitely got to get on top of that. There are still a lot of things that I'm slowly working on getting and I'm learning all these little tricks and hacks along the way thanks to all of you!
@@NickTheMobileMechanic I use both to slide back and forth under my cars when a creeper won't work. The tarp lets you slide better but won't stay in place. The cardboard will soak up small spills but don't lie on the spills. Good luck!
