The made a fine boat for those people of wealth who just wanted a fine boat. These were the rare mega rich who purchased boats to use them, rather than turn heads when arriving at the dock. Fortunately they were absorbed by Viking. So ended the one dream having a shard of plausibility for common folk.

It looks as though constant owners , management and shared vision about goals have made Viking the dominate builder of sports fishing boats. This happened quickly. I do wonder if Hatteras and Bertram will find the capital to begin chasing them.

The dodo brown cushions are horrible!

I own a hysucat and the foils do work amazing at fast speeds but at trolling speeds I have found that the act like a bit of a brake so they make the hull less efficient at slow speeds.

... it is amazing that was "old" ... is now new, cutting edge. In the 1960's Henry Luhrs built a 30' Lap-strake boat w/ twin v-8's in it ... small cuddy cabin but, no cockpit cabin ... it looked like a hull w/ a flying bridge on it w/ a bimini top ... it was the only one I ever saw at the time. And was she light and fast !!! I think she was the fastest boat in the "Breezy-Lee Marina" in Cape May ... her name was "Hustler" ... IIRC ...
