Safest way to remove aluminum can top. No sharp edges! Behind the Ranch.

A little something different. Here's an easy and safe way to remove aluminum can tops. Most methods were too challenging or ended up with sharp edges that could cut skin. My daughter needed the tops off cans removed for a project, and it needed to be safe since it was going to be something for kids.

      @@lowerleftranch First off, duh. Secondly, could. It COULD kill someone if it falls. Finally, I meant why burn it as opposed to cutting it down. It's a waste of good wood and unnecessary fire hazard.

    • @lowerleftranch
      @lowerleftranch 8 місяців тому

      Fire hazard? In January? If it falls on you, it will kill you. And, have you looked at the state of the tree? It’s been dead for 5 years, I’m not dumb enough to cut it down at the base while risking limbs falling on me. How about you?

    • @briancrone

      Is that a rule somewhere? I've not heard of this before.

    • @phatmatt1297
      @phatmatt1297 8 місяців тому

      @@briancrone Is it a rule to not burn trees where they stand? That I don't know, but if it isn't legal, that's a bigger issue than "rules". The real issue is that the fire, when smoldering at the base of a tree like that, can spread into the root system and burn underground without you knowing it. In a densely wooded area (trees can be as big underground as above ground) other tree root systems can cross, thus spread ... underground. So, it's really more about safety and common sense.

    • @lowerleftranch
      @lowerleftranch 8 місяців тому

      A standing giant dead oak tree where people walk and where branches weighing more than 400 lbs are falling presents a more urgent danger. The tree had to go. That's common sense.

    • @briancrone
      @briancrone 8 місяців тому

      @@phatmatt1297 I get it. Was referring to the height of the tree. Laws are different from county to county, state to state. The Gulf Coast water table's pretty high, so I don't believe there is any regional concern about underground root fires.
