Clarification: please check your dates for when I joined you as a TKP guest. It was a Thursday evening before the Friday when the GECDSB public agenda package was posted and distributed. The next regular board meeting after the long Family Day weekend was Tuesday. So agenda packages were available to prepare for a meeting, get feedback, enquire with anyone associated with the committee, seek clarification from administration, public education supporters, etc. Trustees, particularly those who are elected in municipalities that contain the catchment area that constitutes the student body, are expected to be prepared by understanding their role, engaging in professional development to understand laws, bylaws and the board parliamentary authority (RONR), prepared for meetings by reviewing all materials in order to engage in informed discussion and make an informed decision. If you don't know a procedure, as a learner, you need to study, ask questions and follow up in an informed way.

When I used to drive school bus, I would sit at wigle to turn left at main… that light would never change. I ended up having to turn right, pull into the zehrs parking lot and turn around to go down main. It stopped working properly when the town got rid of all the advance lights as a test to see if traffic would move better. They broke something that wasn’t broken

Still confused as to why a company that has been mismanaged for so many years has the right to increase my rates when we have a storm that they are improperly prepared to deal with. So when I'm short on my mortgage payment because I didn't save enough money I can just take it from my neighbor?

Good Info-Thanks;we are lucky as we have 2 Gen.sets and used both to power our house ,Generators that powered our sump pump and no flooding.The flooding took place in our Patio(screened-in) we were denied Ins.coverage ;but are now paying out of our own pocket for repairs (never heard about over the land water flooding) after repairs Ins.Coverage will commence in the future!!

My first thought when all the flooding happened was that water powered sump pumps played a role...remember there was more drawing on the system than just those pumps.... .a 5/8 garden hose will flow 500gal/hr easy..most sump pumps are running off 3/4 or 1" lines...so potentially as much as 1000gal/hr per home..x 500 homes..x 5 hrs = empty tower. The real screw up was the delay in restarting the filling of the tower...heads ned to roll at UWS

The time to plan is always now. But the development needs to happen in a way that avoids sprawl. Sprawling suburbs backrupt cities. Densification needs to happen, and is KEY to preserving our green spaces, our vibrant core, and a walkable town.

I would like to see more info about each candidate. This video was not enough information. There is so much more information that I would have like to hear from the candidates. It doesn't have to be everyone on the same night. Each person should be able to make their own video and post it on the Town's website and each person could watch the ones they want. These short little presentation is not really enough information on the candidates, to make a proper informed selection for our future representatives.

There are a myriad of issues when it comes to development, and preservation of heritage, (as well as green space, biodiversity, and sustainability); but one of the issues that never seems to be discussed in these conversations is the predatory nature of our current system of economics and development. I have watched Profit take Precedence over long term Sustainability for decades at the expense of the very biosphere that supports all life on this planet. In many ways the Capitalist system of economics has deteriorated into Predatory Capitalism; ------------ The concept we were ‘sold’; Capitalism; is a sustainable system that allows for those who are innovative and creative to 'capitalize' on their skills to create, promote, and produce, viable products and services that benefit individuals, society as a whole, and protect the environment, while acknowledging the true contribution of all involved (creator to factory worker) who are all appropriately compensated for their true value of contribution. What we actually got when the package arrived; Predatory Capitalism; is what we actually have in that it is all about bottom line profit for the Corporation, and it's shareholders; completely at the expense of environmental sustainability, the actual workers who create the wealth in the first place, a population programmed by the narcissistic mentality of 'mass consumerism', endless growth, and 'class entitlement', all built on unbridled exploitation of planetary resources, including humanity itself. --------------- So perhaps we should be asking ourselves why we always attack those in the public forum, while we ignore the greed and exploitation of the Predatory corporate entity? ALL need to be held accountable; and not just for Short Term monetary costs, but also Long Term sustainability and the future viability of a successful Municipality, Province, Nation, and Global Community.

#DebbyJarvis has my vote!! She truly is a great person. Even when no one is looking. She was so caring towards my daughter when we lost my son due to mental health/addiction. She never once judged him. She never made us feel shame. Yes. I’ve felt shamed when I spoke of my sons addiction and mental health. People gasped when they heard but when asked how he died, you could feel the change in their attitude towards him. He mattered. He had issues that this BROKEN system had no help for him. When they want the help and need it. It should be available right away. Not 6-8 weeks down the road and if you call at 2pm every Tuesday. How ridiculous to ask someone to do that. The system has stigmatized the addict and made them feel less then. They matter to a mother out there. Thx Deb
