Cycling The Best Roads In Mallorca!
Mallorca is a destination we have always visited as a family, more specifically, Puerto Pollensa (the cycling capital). I always get out on the bike while over there but never filmed it, so as I now have a UA-cam channel, I thought it would be perfect to document my rides whilst holidaying there.
I got out almost every day, conquering the likes of Coll de Femenia and most famously, the Sa Calobra climb.

National Hill Climb Championships 2024!

This year the Cycling National Hill Climb Championships were held in Hexham, Northumberland on Dipton Mill Road. The climb is 1.2km at 9.8%, topping out at 13.4%. A tough climb that changes gradient multiple times, with a kicker at the finish! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to participate in this year's event due to illness, but I'll definitely be back at some point to see what time I can achieve...

Chapeau, great effort. I`ve done it twice, first time in 2022. The Fred was my big challenge after having brain surgery to remove a tumor in 2020, i did it in 8hrs 34mins which i wasn`t expecting . Respect to anyone who gets to the finish regardless of whether or not they walked Hardknott Pass....that`s a big as at 90 miles.

@@philwhiteley4704 Hello Phil, thank you for your comment! The Boardman bike I have is carbon fibre, I’ve had it about 12 years. Boardman bikes are reasonably priced and have good equipment if you’re just starting out. Facebook Marketplace has some good deals. I would recommend this bike I have, but depends how much you want to spend. My son had a bike fit recently after having bought an Orbea and had to change his saddle, bars and pedals etc. Bike shops usually recommended decent bikes, you may think they are trying to sell you the best to make money, but I really do recommend not cheaping out on specific parts you’d actually need because it will prevent injury in the long run! A tip would be to see what a bike shop recommends, then find something similar on Facebook or eBay and then once you’ve found a deal, take it to a bike shop for a fit and upgrade the parts you need! Thanks for subscribing 😁

Many years ago, I completed the 3 State / 3 Mountain here in the states …Chattanooga TN. On the hard climbs, particularly Lookout Mountain you had to focus on ignoring the walkers when the grade reached a paltry 17%. I was probably running a triple a few times and was glad I had it.
