What does it mean to be a watchman? Do you think of yourself as a shepherd, following in the footsteps or our Good Shepherd. Is the church being led by shepherds today - who act as watchmen for the flock and who lead guide and protect them?

I'm so excited to be back in study with this group of women. Thank you, Chris! Some great take aways from this first lesson: Warn- Be a light. Being a light sounds way less intimidating than warning. If God calls me to warn, it's not up to me how the person/group of people responds, I am just to obey. As Ezekiel ate the scroll we too need to nourish our bodies with the word. I'm so excited to see how the rest of this book unfolds.
Thank you, Chrissie! It is so good to be able to know that you are with us! That message is still one of the most powerful for me!
If you want to follow along or see what the workbook is all about here is the link for a free download to the first lesson: www.precept.org/download/ezekiel/#pup-tab-02t
Happy New Year! I'm trying to recap my understanding of this passage. The evil leaders (verse 11:3) seem to be giving bad advice to the people to not build houses (in conflict with Gods command in Jer 29:5 to build, live and grow in exile and it would take generations to return to Jerusalem). The pot (Jerusalem) has a double meaning: staying in city is protection from fire vs their doom, as God's judgement/fire is underneath. Like an ostrich who puts head in sand ( confused by the cultural sands of false beliefs) they are denying danger upon them for not obeying God. Then verses :15-:17 those in denial, led by evil leaders who do not exile will perish however those who thrive in exile will have God's sanctuary and a return to Israel. This video has been so very helpful, Chris. Sorry to have missed the session but so glad to have this review.
There is a good visual on page 35 that shows the departure/direction and location of the Glory of the Lord after He departed the temple of Jerusalem (v10:23). Up from the midst of the city and over the mountain east of the city. This is past the Kidron Valley and the mountain east of the city is now known as Mount of Olives.
Fran, so grateful for your comments. And you got the chapter summarized beautifully. Glad to have you back this week.
This was a great study with a great facilitator. I went through the whole book with this video. I found myself answering the questions as if I was in the class.
I love it when people tell me they feel like they're with us! Thank you. I hope you'll continue on.
In this study the teacher asked the student, how did she know that it was Jesus on the white throne. The teacher said that she needed to research it because she always thought it was God. Based on the Bible, Jesus is the One that God appointed/ordained to judge the living and the dead and the "white throne" is the judgement seat. So it would seem that Jesus is sitting on this throne.
@wandatoote1248 So glad you are joining us. Thank you for your comment. Since in this area the Biblical scholars disagree we would all allow for each person to land on a different interpretation as long as it holds up to Scripture. Also ultimately since God and Jesus are one, it doesn't really make it an issue of "you must agree with this". Just a couple things to consider. I hope you listened to our full discussion in this video and the next one to see how we use the context to inform our understanding. As is said, "Context is key in interpretation." So whomever you think is on the throne in Ezekiel chapter 1, does that need to continue throug the next chapters? See Ezekiel 1:28 for that answer. And I would add that Biblical scholars do not all agree that it is Jesus on the throne during the Great White Throne judgement. More importantly even if that is true; we know from Scripture that it is not always Jesus who is on the throne. See these verses: Matthew 5:34, Isaiah 66:1, and many more where in the Old Testament the word LORD is translated as Yahweh, that is the word for God. Ezekiel 1:28 uses this same word for the LORD. In the Hebrew this is Strong's #3068 Yhvh.... it means: the proper name of the God of Israel. It is the name God gave to Moses when He sent him back to Egypt. Again as I say since Jesus sits at the right hand of God on the throne with Him; ultimately is a different view of the same picture. Since you didn't give a verse about Jesus being the one God appointed to judge the living and the dead I can't say what my understanding of that is, but when we studied the gospel of John a few years ago, this passage in John 3 has formed the basis of my understanding on that topic. It would seem to me that Jesus is the judge because He is the judgement if that makes sense. John 3:17-19, "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil." Thanks again for your thoughts, I love studying the word with Bereans like yourself who search the Scriptures.

Hi Ma'am,I'm from the Philippines.Thank you for this online study I learned a lot.God bless you more.
Leonery, thank you! It is so exciting to know you are watching us from the Philippines! I am praying for you and our class will keep you in our hearts and minds.💗
Welcome Leonary!❤ May God bless you richly for diving into His word. 🙏 It will never return void. Isaiah 55:11 👏
Welcome Leonery! I'm so glad you reached out! It is such a treasure to learn what God has left in writing to teach us and to learn that we have a sister on the other side of the world learning with us! He's such an amazing Father!
I know people who have the dream catcher and they should not have them.
Jesus
Sarah, so good to hear from you.
For the fact that you can look up tiktok and it is on your phone it goes with the person and they could be on their phone. Then the person has their phone in church.
Love your message and your heart, Chris! He lifts us up, carries us through our waves. Gives new imagery to "When you go through deep waters I will be with you" Isaiah 43:2

Adding to the great 2 Peter 2:12 discussion (41-50 min timemark): the metaphor of false teachers behaving like unreasoning animals (creatures of instinct, reviling in ignorance) is a perfect analogy of how self driven (or mob/pack driven) teachers trample on holiness and demean the Word for their own gratification!

Oh my, so cool that you have the highlighting on the screen. When did you start to have this option or find the highlighted on the screen?
Hey Sarah, I just use the icons and shapes in Power Point to make the markings or hightlights I need. There is probably an easiere way, but this works.
And here is a link for the beautiful Susan Ashton song: "You Move Me" : ua-cam.com/video/HxpszTUYAgU/v-deo.html

Love the reminder that people will ask about our hope... because we are not fearful or intimidated.
Our God is so good to us. If we just live the way He asks our witness becomes so simple.
Good day, Christine Rector. I want to know why did they call it "Usage" if it is a longer definition
I believe that "usage" helps us to see the ways in which the Greeks or Hebrews would understand the meaning of a word compared to how we might think of it. For example in John 1:4, John uses the word light to describe Jesus. Now we would in simple definition just say light, but in the Greek, it might mean the light itself, the source of the light or radiance as you can see here: 5457. phós Definition: light Usage: light, a source of light, radiance. I hope that is helpful. For me it broadens the way I think of the word. I am sorry I did not see this comment and reply sooner.
This week, as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I was reminded of how God sees and hears our praise and our words of thanks to Him. I pray to be ever grateful; He has given me so much more than I can ever truly thank Him for - He gave me the life of His Son. How do you thank Him for that? I don't know; I am just grateful that He honors our attempts even though our efforts are so small and HIs gifts are so big! Praying you find a million ways to thank God through the coming week and into our blessed Advent season. I have a link to an old hymn by Fanny Crosby that I did not know until this week. I found this sweet and simple version to share with you. I couldn't help but fall in love with the words - which I shared on the end screen of the video. Tell me the story of Jesus; tell me the story most PRECIOUS! The song is like Christmas and Easter all in one. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/23YnCDM67Lw/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing.
Love this ❤
Grateful for this video--had not used bible hub much and forgot about--thanks for the reminder. You are a blessing!
Thank You, I am so glad it helped!
Hey Fran, I got your comment by email but it doesn't show up here; another thing I have to figure out. Thanks for always encouraging!
I learned a lot about Bible Hub! Thank you, Chris!
Thanks Chris - I think I need to get a bible concordance
Well whichever one works. I love the online. But I can show you the other kind tomorrow night if you want.

We had such a rough internet night with this video! Can you see my eyes rolling in the back of my head? It was a tough way to end our amazing study in Isaiah, but we want you to know that we will not quit. Our enemy will not cause us to give up on God's Word or in our sharing them with you. Thank you for grace and patience with our less than perfect presentation.
It has been awhile since I posted any links for sermon commentaries; Wow! I just couldn't keep up with all of them, but I watched the 3 sermons from Jack Hibbs on Chapter 63 and they are awesome! And you will find them especially helpful if you have not studied Revelation or the day of vengeance before. Here are the links: Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/OLPy1mBbFkw/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/YpG0p6qRQZk/v-deo.html Part 3: ua-cam.com/video/Uun0T2IC35k/v-deo.html Yes it takes 3 sermons to cover the chapter, but the good news is that each sermon is shorter than our discussion :) Make sure you check out the end of next week's video for the info on our fall study!
Hi Cristine! Can I join your study, if that is alright? May I have the zoom link and the schedule? Thanks
I am interested with this study as well. How can I get the book? Thank you
Hi Cristine! This week is our final week with Heaven Hell, and life after death and everyone loved it. Thank you so much for your guidance.. May God the Father of our Lord Jesus continously bless your ministry.
Thanks Chris! I got pretty far in the homework but didn’t complete day 5 homework
I have had my phone "suggest" also and that is ai getting in the way. That ai in this case is annoying. I know of the headline of the girl.
Thanks mama! It’s so good to be in His word and see how real and relatable and current His truths are for our lives today. I agree, now more than ever, we have the ability to stay connected even when we cannot physically be together and how great that is to be knit together and able to encourage one another to stand firm and keep pursuing the light and truth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. ❤️
Thanks, Chris. I know you are speaking the truth, and I appreciate the push from you to stand firm, dig deep, and love others.
Thank you Chris. Loved hearing and going through the these verses and mission statement. It spoke loudly of what is happening in our community, state, country and world today. We need to stay connected and be in God’s Word to help us get through life and especially this virus! We need to be light for others. Love you all. Sheryl
