3 November 2024 - clarification on Uber in Rome. The way Uber works in Italy is different from the standard model in much of the world (a driver using a private vehicle). Uber operates in select places in Italy, under individual contracts made with local authorities. In Rome the app connects you to private car services, in Naples it connects you to a taxi consortium. As a result, the fares are higher than in places with the standard model.

Celebrity Edge - practical and to the point review with lots of tips for future guests.
Subject: Urgent ! We are writing and warming you regarding our recent experience on the Celebrity Edge Cruise to the Great Barrier, dated 22/10/2024. Upon our return home, I was diagnosed with a throat infection and still have it a week later, which my doctor confirmed is likely due to inhaling soot from the ship’s engines while we were on the sun loungers. Additionally, my wife suffered from nausea and dizziness during our time on board detracting significantly from what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience. I also have a video documenting the heavy soot situation, which I can provide upon request. The Captain has been informed of our concerns; however, we feel it is important to formally request a full refund due to the serious health issues we encountered. Considering the circumstances, we believe this is a reasonable resolution. I also have a video documenting the heavy soot situation, which I can provide upon request. Thank you for your understanding, and we eagerly await for you to caution your Viewers. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response.
You have mispronounced Civitavecchia any single time (without mentioning Trastevere and Ostiense) . Don't you check before turning the camera on?
Yes good interesting video. Lived there from 1942 to 1956. Good narration but music unnecessary. Annoying to this 87yr old.
Was it really good idea to ruin a comprehensive video by playing muzac so loud it was drowning out the narration? I had to turn off it was so distracting, shame. Some of the narration didnt have muzac. Indeed why play music at all.
The Oxford Tube coach service is more frequent and cheaper to use than the train. Why no mention? It leaves from opposite Victoria Coach station on Buckingham palace Road.
Lovely work my friend, shots are amazing! Absolutely gorgeous 🙏🙏
Thanks a lot!
Sorry for you loss but still so many people walking around with phone and credit cards in that single case, what a nightmare to lose the lot, Phone and credit cards are always kept separate and spare money always in side pocket, the main wallet no credit cards inside also a waist money belt is a great idea. sometimes when I am visiting crowded places or markets i go without the wallet and just have cash in a side pocket and the same going out at night time small changes and maybe 1 credit card. great feeling that you not going to lose any things while on holiday.
Agreed, hindsight is a wonderful thing, every day is a school day!
Thanks for sharing your news and I am sorry for what has happened to you. Sadly, the world is full of rotten apples. Hope the police helped you to block everything on your GSM phone and all your bank credit and debit cards. If your passport has also got stolen I advise you to also report it to your embassy to have it immediately cancelled and for them to issue you with a new replacement passport.
One thing I didn't loose is my passport, but that's good advice.
Be careful on the escalators especially in Sants!! Friend had her passport and credit cards stolen
Yes, Sants seemd like a tinderbox to me!
Never ever accept help from anyone "scruffy looking" nothing good will come from that.
Agreed lesson learned!
There are handy zip carabiners (Nite ise S -biners)to keep zips together. Some even lock. They at least slow down thieves.
Corrupt Incompetent Woke government refuses to implement effective laws against criminals. Very overrated city. Many like it in the EU.
I biked through Barcelona in 2012. Didn't like it. Had a theft mid-day happen right in front of me.
Yep, it feels like it borders on lawless at times.
Very helpful thanks :))))
Glad it helped!
such a shame :(
Yeah, it's a shame, but just like a rainy day, it won't last forever!
barcelona is rife with pickpockets.
Sadly, yes it is but it's also frightening the lengths they will go to and how organised the whole thing is.
@@Iwanttogoto my mate is a bouncer, he caught them with arm in his backpack, pretty sure they had no use for the arm after it.
Very overrated City.
Granada, Cordoba and Valencia are great alternatives.
Probably the usual suspects.
Yep ,unfortunately I think the police know exactly who vis resposible but just accept this as 'normal life'.
Kaznzuri guys! I feel your joy, sense of accomplishment and pain. I agree descent is much harder than anyone talks about.. We summitted mid-July’24.
In Berlin our 2 bikes have been stolen. It was at the new Museum with dozens of cams and security, but obviously the thieves work very efficient😢😢😢
Seems to me that, whilst the police do what they can, petty theft like this has now become 'normalised' and will no longer be investigated properly.
Very helpful 😁
Glad you think so!
Great information! Could you please share the name of the ferry company you used and the cost of the trip both ways ?
Great information! My wife and I have flown from the states to Barcelona 2 years in a row. This summer we took the train from Barcelona to Zaragoza and on by car. We’re dying to get back to Spain. We’d love to make the adventure from another starting point and this is really helpful! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Spain is very easy to travel to and around by train, if you want a scenic trip try Alceceras to Cordoba.
the Russians are happy with this film too. well done.
and theres now some living here in portsmouth too
Hopefully this will allow more people to benefit from this great money saving technique. Don't forget to share your own experiences below!
Very nice video.
Thank you very much!
Want to take the edge to Alaska but scared of everything I’ve heard about the food being just no good and cold. How was the food?
Food was generally excellent, no complaints, we really liked the choice of 4 mian dining rooms and varied menus.
Thanks for the info, Your ferry looked good, Are all ferry companies the same level ? Did the ferry have a toilet on it ? Thanks
Yes it does have a toilet. We only used that ferry and I believe the other ferry to Langkawi is similar however I think the ferries that go to other islands like Phuket are more like speedboats and have a reputation for being less luxurious
@@Iwanttogoto 👍 Thanks for the reply
me and my wife are going on it from NZ to Fiji return, its $2680pp for an inside cabin. Thank you for your video its our first cruise.
Hope you have a wonderful time, we are very jealous.
OMg never seen such detailed and useful guide
Good idea Independent

If you want a quick and efficient way to see Mumbai in a day then this video gives great tips and advice!
Hello. Can I talk with you? your video is very good. I have learn many things from your youtube videos
Thank you for sharing the video. I love your video very much
You are welcome, thanks for your comment.
Very informative and lovely video of Oxford.
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, Oxford is such a lovely city to visit, well worth a trip, if you have the time then take in some of the Cotswolds too!
Nice video, we hope to visit Gdańsk in the Spring from , Connecticut, USA.
Very helpful thanks
Interesting but please try to learn how to pronounce the names of the places you visit.
Your content is good but your editing needs some work. Just some constructive criticism.
As a Pole, I wonder because you visited Poland and the Baltic countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, how Poland compares to them.
They are all slightly different. We really loved the whole trip and will go back to Poland soon because it has much more to see than what we have seen. I think the whole region is underrated as a destination and would not hesitate to suggest it as a place to go.
Great trip, thorougly enjoyed this historical part of Europe. Can't recommend it enough!
Hello! Great information, looking at doing this route next year. I was planning on travel hand luggage only with just a 30L ‘under seat’ backpack, were you able to keep this with you in your seat? I’d have a laptop in my backpack (probably without a proper case, just in a pocket) and wouldn’t really want it getting squashed in a pile of other backpacks! Thanks!
Hi, the seats are quite narrow so you'd rely on the boat not being full and being able to put on a spare seat next to you, I don't recall there being much storage under the seat in front. Might be best to be prepared to hand over your backpack and have your laptop with you.
@@Iwanttogoto Thank you! I would be fine having my backpack on my lap (as it's quite small), but I wouldn't want it to annoy passengers on either side of me!
Goodness me, a complete cure for insomnia...... Put some life into it people......even my dog fell asleep listening to this mundane drivel. You're on a par with Kier, the most boring man in Britain, Starmer....... Here's a tip, never try to become a Tour Guide.....
You do not need any public transport change to reach Main Town (Długa Street) or Old Town from airport. The bus #210 delivers you to Hucisko bus stop, then walk 300 meters to Golden Gate and Długa street. Ticket costs 4.8 PLN (1,1 €)
There is no Blue Gate in Gdańsk, particulary at Długa street end
