      I think the angle is particularly helpful on this one it just makes you think how to manipulate the shapes when looking from a different position.

    When you say study, does that mean redrawing an image from a book over and over until it is memorized in your head?

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance 20 днів тому

      I mean to draw anatomy and heads form different angles and experiment maybe not the same drawing over and over because then you get good at drawing that one image. I would say it's learning the principles of that makes sense.

    So the smaller the head is drawn the more detail has to be left out, right?

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance 22 дні тому

      Yeah, I am guessing your using that page paper with the idea to shrink it down aswell? Looking at manga is a great way to see how they adapt the details to show it's that character with the expressions they want to portay

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance 22 дні тому

      I would say play around and find a level of detail your happy with. The Loomis , sail and cube methods will allow you to make sure the details you want to use will be in the correct place.

    I’m struggling with knowing how big to draw the face and head because I think I might be drawing it to small, because I can’t get the detail of the face specially the eyes without it looking weird and distorted, how big do you draw the head, how do you know how big or small to draw it?

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance 24 дні тому

      Hi you can create the proportions using a head rule so most people or 7 heads tall for example. I can do a video on this next if that helps

    • @Peter-wl3tm
      @Peter-wl3tm 24 дні тому

      That would be a good video to see, but I’m specifically having a problem with drawing the head itself too small, I haven’t even began to construct the bodies yet it seems like I’m drawing the head to small because I can’t actually fit in the eyes correctly with details without it looking really distorted. How do you determine what size head should be so that it’s not overly big but also not too small? I’m using traditional pencil and paper Can you use some help with this

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance 24 дні тому

      Ok so what size paper are you using and what are you drawing for. Like is it for a manga panel etc? I can use the same size paper and equipment and make a video for you tomorrow.

    Don't draw when you want to, art is like working out, if you go to the gym when you feel like it you'll never see improvement and this will make you give up. I only recommend you draw when you feel like it once you've reached the level where you think you've always been aiming for. Draw when you need to draw and not when you want to.

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance Місяць тому

      Art is like working out I totally agree but like working out you build in rest days or active rest where you change things up. I think aimlessly drawing every day is the same as drawing only when you want to. It kinda needs to be a bit more structured. Thanks for commenting I really like your point of view.

    Everyone has their own pace of learning to draw. Drawing everyday might not work for you but for others its a great way to speedup and improve your skills. Then there's also other people been drawing everyday and you can see in their drawing that you dont see any difference from day 1 and day 300. But I have to say for a lot of people drawing everyday can definitely improve your drawing skills, you just have to be mindfull that your drawing everyday to figure things out.

    • @DrawingwithBalance
      @DrawingwithBalance Місяць тому

      I hear what your saying. I'm saying more you shouldn't force yourself to draw everyday. More so doing so because you want to or feel creative in that moment. Then I truly think you can maximise your learning and develop a system to maintain that creativity. Art is a beautiful thing and I think when it's forced it loses something for the artwork and the person doing it. This is just an opinion. I would never say I am right over another opinion. Having these types of conversation I think is a positive thing.
