I used Topaz video ai to clean that vid up for youtube. The ratel is a great camera, highly recommended. I also use the Foxeer t-rex, also very good. The ratel has a wider angle lens than the t-rex. The wider angle is maybe better for freestyle where as the t-rex is a great all rounder.

How was the install of the caddx? Did you just have to unclip it and then clip it back in or was there soldering involved?

@@LoVeAmBiEnT It simply plugged in. Some cameras have different plugs though. The Ratel 2 is good to go irc.

Thanks, still love the baby ape 2! Such a great little ripper. The camera fix is: You need to unscrew the camera lens housing and rotate it 180 degrees, then re attach it. This can help for any fpv camera that is off centre. I don't think it works for every camera though. In my case it improved it a lot. I have a foxeer t-rex, which is also off centre, but is glued, so I have to live with it. So mileage may vary. Hope it works for you.

@FPV_sk8 so just unscrew the lens and rotate the lens 180 degrees and then screw it back on with the lock nut? Am I understanding that correctly?

@@FPV_sk8 or are you talking about the back of the camera? Like take the back cover off that's held by the 2 screws and rotate the sensor or whatever in the back?

@orlinn3 Not the lens. There should be two screws on the back of the camera maybe under a sticker. Undo those, then rotate the back 180 degrees to the body. The camer is made up of three parts, the lens, the housing, and the back which has the sensor on it. You want to rotate the housing on the back.

@@FPV_sk8 gotcha it looks like mine is glued together because after i take the screws off i cant take off the pcb off the front part of the case

Hi there, yes I changed the camera to a Caddx Ratel 2 and I changed the vtx antenna to a Foxeer Lollipop 4+. The camera has a wider field of view and the antenna greatly improved the video range. Everything else is stock.

@@FPV_sk8 okay, regarding the antenna you just had to detach the old one from the UFL connector and attach the new one, right??

@@francescocaggia594 Correct. The ufl is not the tightest connection so I then used a zip tie and some hot glue to secure it. Otherwise it can can come disconnected in a crash. It's a great beginner freestyle drone. Nothing has broken on mine after many crashes. I have the 4s version and get about 5 mins of freestyle or up to 7 mins cruising on 650mah. I'm still on the original props too. They're strong! I upgraded the vtx antenna and camera and get about 1km of range if I don't fly behind anything.

This drone has more power than the pro version.

@@FPV_sk8 Thanks! Now I need to decide what can I do, I cant pay for customs because I have problems with my card, so I need to order this drone and it must be under 150 euro. From Where official darwinfpv ships, becauseif its only from Us, i cant order from them cause of customs? or i have to order it only from aliexpress.

It's good! Great quality for the price. Flies well. Great for getting started in freestyle before moving up to a 5". No complaints.
