Razorback Mower at 11hrs
I filmed this video way back in February but have only just edited it. Most of the footage is the camera fixed on a mount on the mower. There is no steep hills or brush cutting with it I will film some of that soon. Be prepared for gratuitous mowing footage.

Baumr AG SX92 and the Husqvarna 572xp cutting big Wattle
I just bought one, so far I dont like theres no cradle for my phone and no spot to put a drink bottle. small things but super helpful.
I bought the MTM SX72 for cutting firewood, the fuel cap needed a bit of attention to stop it leaking but apart from that its been a good saw, plenty of power and the chain oils well. I have been using it 3 years now and its running better than when new.
Maybe spray the RAM tube with INNOX or CRC to keep rust at bay? 🇦🇺
I have one of these and they are tough.
4 blades. Cuts everything. Tough. Use it for mulching pruning under shrubbery as well. Has also levelled the lawn.
Yep very tough little mower
I just purchased one of these. It said the pump came with oil. However the breather cap dip stick seems high? And showing nothing. Did you just fill to satisfy the dipstick H/L? Thankyou

I got a coxs mower 2 years old but my drive belt keeps breaking i went through 5 in last 5 weeks Costing me a lot of money at mechanics Do you know why
Sorry to hear about that Paul. I have never broken a drive belt in any of the Cox mowers I have owned so I'm not sure I would be able to help you with the problem.
how is this Saw going years later? i just got a sx75..... havnt used yet
I'm not sure I sold it.
just looking at purchasing one of these. Are you happy with it 4 years on?
Sorry I haven't done a follow up video on this. Yes it works a treat very powerful almost a little too powerful. You have to be careful when using it on a car.
Mate just wanted to know all the handles on your cox
The right-hand side engages the blades. The one on the left raises and lowers the deck. The foot peddle is forwards and backward and there is a throttle lever on the other side of the steering wheel.
Thanks for the reply my wife bought a second or maybe a fourth hand cox I got her home and man what a beast love it my neighbour has a John deer and is quite envious of mine
@@akuiiratawhi8924 That's great. I've sold mine as I now have a Canycom Razorbak 4WD mower but I loved the Cox when I had her.
Gday Steve, wondering if you know where I can get a set of cone adjusting plates/spacers? My mower is moving very slowly and I'm thinking it might be the cone needs adjusting.
Sorry mate I don't. I used to get mine serviced by a small engine mechanic who was pretty good with Cox mowers but he's business has closed down.
@@bigbird130 Thanks for replying.
G day I have a 1988 Cox did the same Adjust the Discs Undo the two bolts and slide the Discs in towards the Cone
Chain is WAY too tight. Lucky you didn’t snap it
LUV THE SOUND
It's not Astray-ya, its Australia.
Gwarn mate, whats that about.
I just rebuilt a 13hp in a Cox that was much the same, put new rings in, the crank, con rod, cam and everything looked good. Stopped all the smoke but still has that horrid Briggs and Stratton knock at low RPM. I can only put it down to the counter balance weight making the knocking noise as everything else was perfect. Runs and cuts great just hat frustrating knock in the engine.
That is a bit annoying that knocking sound. It's good that you got it going again. I've sold mine now but it was a great mower when I had it.
He promotes Cox but check out his cap? Ridiculously ironic. So bad. Gday cobber.
Yeah, I have to confess I have quite the Husqvarna collection. Cox does make a good mower though and Ozzie made.
@bigbird130 Thanks . I have one G'day, which has just done 10 hours. I'm not sure what content is Oz, though, but I support mainly Oz made products where possible, except caviar.. G'day, mate. 🇦🇺
Thanks for the video. How did you find reliability ? I've had alot of luck with the Ozito's, wondering if they were as good as they seem to be a copy of the same design. Cheers.
It was fine while I used it. I now have a battery powered Husqvarna which has replaced it for all the small and some of the larger work on the property.
Does honda still make their trimmers in Japan? Thanks
I think they still do I bought the trimmers complete from a dealer so I didn't have a look at the boxes to see where they were made.
Just subscribed to your channel 👍
I noticed you dropped each piece of wood held down by your left hand, onto the ground, rather than putting it in the trailer. You must like bending and double handling the wood! I am now ready to start and use my SX25 for the first time, thanks to your encouraging video.😊
Your right I hadn't noticed. I may have been going to stack them near the house as it was right out side but good point.
I got mine started several times, but it just won't keep running. The throttle under the handle is reluctant to work. Might hafta get a battery operated one!
@@jenniferpunton5067 I ended up getting a battery saw. I use it more than my petrol saws it does 80% of the work around the property. I only pull out my 572 for really big jobs
Yep Steve, my Razorback is still going strong. You're gonna do well with that machine I reckon. What's with the IBM shirt? Do you know that ICT jargon?
Yeah she'll be a great mower for me. I used to work for IBM so I'm pretty well across ICT stuff.
i had one they do the job until they break how long that is ,is a luck off the draw i got one winter i looked after it like i owned it went to use it next year it was dead ignition system failed the mob i got it from were not interested to help so
Yeah, Malcolm they aren't that helpful. I've sold it now I mostly use a battery Husqvarna or my 572.
Hey Steve. I got the razor back sales team out to my place for a demo. That mower is unstoppable, it went up and down my steep hills. Just cannot justify the the the price tag right now but they are an awesome machine. Maybe once I build on the land ……..
Yes, she isn't cheap, but just the short amount of heavy work I have done, I really see the value. I used to hire a slashing mower, but none of the hire companies around me have them anymore. I will put up a video of it working slashing the shrubs and heavy grass in a couple of weeks.
I tuned in to see the the bi -speed function did not get to seen it .The rest is too painful to watch ....not the tractor ...the narrator .
I have a victa mustang that has a b&s 850 190cc and it’s a great engine
I have the 11.5hp 20 years old. Seat cracked and the brake is useless, front tyres don't hold pressure ,it needs a wheel alignment and the drive is noisy due to cone wear but its still running. I would like to replace it but the new ones all have issues in the entry level price range and maybe lucky to get 10 years out of them. Probably get it serviced and get another 5 years out of it.
Yeah they are a good rig. Nothing is like the Old Coxes except maybe the Greenfield
A Honda Gx390 will bolt up to cox
That's what is in it now
Hi, can you upload a video of how to remove the cutting deck from your Cox Stockman Economy ride-on?

I found our husquna smokes on hills when we top the oil up.
Hi Steve I just picked up a 1.5hp Fairfield morse that I want to put to work with a log splitter, its not steam but I love these old machines.
😎
There is a micro switch at the back right foot hold what does that do
Hi Joseph. It is for starting the mower it operates like a kill switch. You need to hold your foot on it to start the mower. Once it's running you take your foot off.
Nice saw, 👍😁 Try to bend your knees when cutting, sit down into the cut. You are keeping your legs straight and arching your back. You'll destroy yourself doing that over time.
Yeah, thanks for the tip. I know I do it it's a bad habit
@@bigbird130 The boxers stance is key, left leg in front of the right and a soft bend in the knees. Get in nice and close as well, 👍🪓🌲🇮🇪🇮🇪
I had a mid 90s 13/32 I think, had it about four years before moving to Australia ironically. I never needed to top up oil and it smoked under heavy load mowing brush and very thick grass (we have that in NZ). Finally got rust holes in the deck and gave it away as we were renting our lifestyle block out. Now back after nearly four years and definitely will get another one!
Yes Steve they are a good piece of kit. I have upgraded to a Razorback Mower from Japan and it was asking a bit much of the Cox to do some of our block. They do rust but you can always manage that. I believe the new ones have a hydro drive so I'm not sure they are as simple as the old ones.
The ear muffs and glasses etc that come with these are pure shit. They would be better off not sending them
WooW Nice Dude! 👋👍
Hi Steve, you been winning the lotto ? Lots of new toys arriving. 😀Thanks for sharing. Chris
Not the lottery but more liquid as we have paid off the house.
@@bigbird130 noice, great position to be in for you. Makes a world of difference, especially as the interest rates climb. 👍
@@TheRuralProject Yeah now we can concentrate on getting the house how we want it.
Ahhh... Lithium addiction is real huh??
Yep. I got it bad. Can’t wait for the mower but with the weather it looks like I won’t get to use it for a week.
How many land rovers did you uncover growing wild in the bush Steve? Make sure to blow it all out behind the seat etc each time
At least 3 and that's not to mention the 2 Rover P6's and the 2 boat trailers. Yeah I noticed the screen behind the seat. It wasn't bad today as I didn't get much done but I can imagine it would collect a lot of debris
Good one Steve! you're gonna enjoy that rig. I like that you got the one with all the bits I wish I had on mine. Especially that side mounted fwd / reverse lever - with that low seating position I personally feel it a little difficult to move my leg back to grab reverse so I do most of the cutting fwd. Also mine seems to go slower in reverse than in fwd so I'm keen to find out if yours is slower in rev than fwd. I know my pump is capable of the same speed fwd / rev when it was out on the bench but maybe there are some features built into the linkages to slow down reverse?? Have fun
I find the reverse peddle a little awkward. I'm thinking of adjusting the peddle to see if that makes a difference. If I do I'll make a video. I think they are designed to go slower in reverse my Husqvarna was the same, the hydro could handle the same speed the the travel of the peddle was restricted. I watched your videos working on the transmission on the bench nice work.
Hi Steve, I was waiting for this. This machine would save the 3 days of brush cutting i usually have to do, and on some other videos they show them going up and down steep terrain like i have. I might have to rent one and give it a try. Glad you shared that video - thanks
Funny you should mention hiring one. I have in the passed hired an AS Shurpa similar to the Razorback and did just that cut down 3 days of brushcutting to about 4 hrs. The problem is they (by which I mean Kennards Hire) don't hire them out any more. My next video of it will show it on steep terrain.
Hi Steve. Looking forward to seeing it in use. The other videos I have seen about this machine are impressive.
Thanks Chris. I have some good bush to test it on just have to wait for the rain to pass.
No help to me
When one purchases a saw like that one, did you get three batteries ? Four ?
In my case my saws are Stihl all my Stihl batteries I got themes from a Stihl dealer here in Portugal and otheres just across the border on a Stihl dealer in Spain. Here also kind esear to buy themes online on a Stihl web page. PS. To a new buyer I surely not recommend buy the cheap Stihl AP battery charger, I pay for mine 50 Euros but is not worth, takes almost 4 hours to charge one AP500S battery, then I end up pay 160 Euros for the charger 500 but it charge same battery in 35 minutes.
I have the Stihl not Huskvarna but with be the same, batteries and charger are sold separately. In my case if I am go cutting continuous very much non stop from a pile of logs and I use the Stihl MSA300 I need 4 AP 500S batteries and the charger 500 plugged to a power outlet for continuos charging wille I am cutting. I find this saws very confortable and practical to use the downside in my view is the battery technology fails short for this nice simple to use machines.
With a 545 chainsaw and a BLS 300 how long can you cut before run out of battery power?
It was pretty much empty when I finished the tree in the video
@@bigbird130 I have the Stihl, about 2 years ago I was go buy the Huskvarna but here in Portugal at that time the Huskvarna was about 200 Eur. more expensive over the Stihl MSA 220 so I buy the Stihl, for what I see in your video yours is faster. Now 2 months ago I buy the new Stihl the MSA 300 I believe this one is faster that yours, but is no way my top battery the AP500c with last has long has yours. In regard to my Stihl MSA 300 I use to say it is like a Mustang GT with an empty tank of gas.
I have one of these motors. Could only fill oil to lower level on dip stick or would smoke . Eventually after quite s few years broke a conrod and replace motor . Think smoke problem was a ring issue. regards Max
Enjoying the spring weather with chainsaw in hand - perfect. Saws going well. Chris
Yep a wonderful day
