I was just curious if Electric Shavers are allowed on MSC Cruises? I’m going on a cruise with them soon and I’m not sure if they do. I tried Googling, no luck. Let me know if you think Phillips Electric Shaver is allowed onboard a ship? Couldn’t find any information regarding it to trim my facial hair. 🪒

Perhaps somebody already mentioned this and I apologize if so, but I believe at least some Amtrak services coach passengers are allowed to book space in the dining car if there's space leftover after the sleeper passengers have made their appointments for meals. If you do that, you do have to pay, the meals aren't included in the ticket like they are for sleeper cabins, but the prices aren't terrible, apparently in '23 they were $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch, and $45 for dinner, with kids eating for $20 at any meal. It doesn't look like at this time they're offering that on the Lake Shore Limited it seems like you rode, but they might get back to offering it again sometime. That said, the homemade biryani also has my mouth watering, so you might be winning too. :)

There is a cafe car in Amtrak and generally it is under the second car in the direction of travel. In roometts and first class I thought they still serve food based on your selection

Actually its highly UNLIKELY that the name of "New York" was after the Duke. The English settlers did not approve of the English crown, and specifically disapproved of the Duke of York, King Charles II's brother. The city was probably named after a very small village near where several of the Pilgrim Fathers grew up - the village of New York in the east Lindsey district of Lincolnshire.

Flew from Philly to MCO and back. Not bad for a flight less than 3 hours. I don’t know that I could do much more than that, very cramped seating. Crew was extremely nice and friendly. Was surprised that the checked bags had to be under 40 pounds!

That lobby was the site of a horrible disaster in 1981. Two skywalks collapsed killing 114 people 😢. You’d never know looking at it now.
