My name is Colin slocombe and I did a lot of coach driving tours around kernow/Cornwall as I was a regular visitor myself even on my holidays I would come as stay in the queen's Hotel over looking Mount's Bay. Beautiful place penzance lovely wishing I could live hear
Yes, two routes. PZ to St Mary's and PZ to Tresco. Service finished in 2012. At the time it was the world's oldest regular scheduled commercial helicopter service.
Wonderful. We’ve walked from Penzance to Mousehole along the front many times, then up to Paul & back past the church. The roads were much quieter, fewer foreign cars on the road too, and the place has such a lovely laid back feel to it. Can we have those days back please?
We used to holiday in Pz in the late 70s before we moved here' in November of 79 I was 9 and fell in love with and and absolutely loved growing up in and around Pz and I still do.
I was working with my grandad at his market stall at North End Road market, I was eight years old ! it's one of those days that one always remembers where they were when the news broke
love it at 5.37 where the cows have another agenda ,love penzance ironically i was at school there in the late 60s sadly moved away and never had the chance to revist untill the eighties and have been there every year since, hopefully we buy somewhere there this year.
We can't hang out anywhere now in Penzance! begging for change shops closers at the rate of knots.penzanze as became a dosshole.council are at fault there very curupt
Giovanni Tonelli ITALY i have been living in penzance, from 1979 to 1985, during my summer english studies holiday, in daniel place at Babcok family. I have studied at Bricent language school, working at pirates fish and chips. i spend my best time, and every time i watch something about Penzance, become difficult don't have emotion. I hope to come back again with my family. Thank you ray
I went there with my wife, my son, and my daughter-in-law for vacation in June this year. The apartment we stayed was very clean and tidy. We have had a very good time in Penzance. We love it very much .
Cracking stuff ! I was 14 when all that was filmed and we lived in Adelaide Street ! I went away for 22 years and came back to live in 2003. Penzance will always be home but it looked a town much more at ease with itself in 1977. 1977 was in fact a a rubbish year as far as summer weather was concerned ( certainly compared to the scorcher of 1976,) but it still looked a hell of a lot warmer than this summer has been !!!! 1977.. when buses are run by Western National.... and they were very green !!!!
My adopted town. I didn't live in town for long as moved to Botallack so I could have my goats, pigs and horse. I come from Mevagissey so it wasn't that far from home. I live near Helston now.
+Risto Toivonen i dont remember their names But my be i knows Them every year i 've been living for Two mounths, from june to august . i,m still Friend With Giorgio Morandino e Federico Moeremans what was your family name?
Great memories, and lovely to see my grandma and mother in Mousehole towards the end of the video. Mum with friends on the 'slab' sunbathing, and gran going in to the post office in a hurry as usual!

I am from Cardiff
Cornwall what a lovely place .......
Are you sure 1977 is the correct year, as I don’t think HSTs arrived until 1980.
I remember seeing the organ grinder with the mechanical jumping monkey as a child i was 9 in 1977.
1977......... Winter Gardens time😊
Could this have been 1976? The Scillonian II - seen at 08:20 - was replaced by Scillonian III in May 1977
Can't have been 1976, the HST (High Speed Train) at the start wasn't running regular passenger services till 1977.
Did the helicopter go the the Scilly isles ?

Irritating mechanical noise during the film’s duration is very distracting …
Then turn the sound off

An interesting watch! I think 1977 might have been the last time the railings on the prom were painted...
