Showit Interview: Allan Peters / Finding Your Brand Identity / Who Are You as a Creator?
I was interviewed by James Nwobu, Marketing Director at Showit. This interview took place at Creative Works West in April 2024. James asks me about my origin as a designer as well as what I've learned along the way. This interview is packed full to tips and advice for young designers. This will be especially valuable if you do logo design and brand identity work.

This interview was filmed and edited by Showit and I was given permission to share it here.

I saw reel on This on insta too but never knew backstory
Great inspiration 🎉
Very similar to Aaron Draplin's book. There is a connection?
I’m here now in July 2024…you are blowing up on Instagram…one question though, what happened to the shooter? Did they ever catch the guys??
Such an inspiration.
Inspiring (I am currently reading your book) 👌
ITS ANGRY?!?!
Don't like it at all. Lost all recognizability
The second smartest logo concept, after old design of North-West Airline
That is actually so cool, citi should genuinely use this. This is great comtent
Wooaah😳🤯🔥💯, at first I was like🤔, but your explanation and process made it so much better
Same!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love them all, heads up though “fuel” is spelled wrong on the Sinclair logo
I think that image might have been an error because the one from that specific video showed a lightning bolt through the dinosaur. This one did not. Also, amazing work. Like genius level inspiration! Mad respect.
I used to identify as a trumpeter, then a musician, then as a creative … but even MORE than that, beyond that, I’m human. This info helps with perspective and one idea to expressing ourself
I just want to know what was your perspective behind the 3m logo change
truely inspirational for me to take step forward.🫡
Just got the book. It's incredible! Feeling inspired.
I wonder how will the new logo look if you keep the same color scheme of the lightining from original logo, the red color accent that is used to highlight the lightining. Overall solid geometry of the logo
Awesome. Can you design a logo for my company?
looks like a really nice but pretty uninformative book. Glad I didn't buy it after seeing this
🔥inspiring🔥 🔥 Fire 🔥🤘😎🔥…
GOLD. What goes into selling a 6 figure project?
Thank you - really inspiring video. Love your designs and design process
No...
Doesnt need fixing! You've brought nothing to this party!
On the one side I feel sad this video hasn’t been discovered by the vast majority of designers out there - it’s truly exceptional. On the other side I’m kinda happy I discovered such a cool interview before getting viral. Thanks Alan for awakening my spark for design and for being such a positive influence in the industry!
Gay
Need more of this reels
The current one teminds me that some companies still dont oversimplify 🥹
your design is good, but not optimal
I really like all of these. You're brilliant at what you do.
I prefer the new one
Handled with care 💀🤡
I love the flexibility you’ve created! It makes the wider brand identity so gorgeous. It does feel much more “luxurious”, I wonder if that’s because older logo styles tend to feel more“prestigious”?
Idk, I honesty like the new logo more
Same
Same
Yes just what the world needs, more over simplified generic logos 😍😍😍
this should be viral
Not all logo needs to be symmetrical or look similar to all modern logos out there. Thing is, no matter how ugly the current Gatorade logo is, it works and people identify it easily. The one you did is perfect but it looks similar to what other companies will do nowadays.
Your channel is so underrated!!
Woooow you're a genius! Definitely deserve more attention
No but you won🎉🎉
I wouldn't look at this and immediately think "G" or Gatorade. Sorry..
Because you associate it with the old Gatorade logo. This is a better one it’s just newer as well
I'd like to own that poster
Hi. Can i have a logo customized and how much do you charge for that?
He's a professional logo designer so probably over $100k for sure
Another win, so much respect for real legacy and design legends. Very tactful yet modern and sleek, love your takes and content
So much cleaner! Nicely done!
sick man
@gatorade should check this out
It also feels like a power button and Gatorade does give you a spark of power(energy)👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You should have made it a sea turtle choking on oil sludge. Accuracy is key
Didn't see the *N* for a long time😅. Love it💕.
