@@JohnAK72 Well yeah if you open the lid during neutral drain, it will spin and dispense the softener. That’s why you don’t do that 😀 All of my machines had the longer filters removed as they contribute to rust and mold

@@JohnAK72 there is a lint disc filter attached to the bottom of the wash basket. You only can see it if you remove the wash basket

@@dmana3172 No. Not with current regulations. If by a middle they did, they wouldn’t be like those older machines. Expect to pay a pretty penny for one

Better than a commercial washer. Nothing on the market today can touch this.

@@ib3289 second hand appliance shop? Only problem you may encounter is some may do nothing and charge an arm and a leg and others may only replace the agitator dogs or something minor. Pretty much at this point all of these machines need to have the agitator dogs the clutch, motor coupler and of course neutral drain packs replaced

Sadly, there are some people that complained about these machines being "Shredmores" because they didn't know how to properly use them. I doubt, given the way the world is these days, we'll ever see these machines made again.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv if I was in a position to get one I'd do it in a heartbeat. I also like the old Frigidaire Unimatic Washers of the 50s- late 70s as well as the Westinghouse washers of the 60s and 70s. Those were absolute BEASTS!

@@joshuajhagroo9096 it’s a marketing term they used. It’s breeze a mixture of detergent through your clothes to aid in stain removal

@@ItsAmandaLord333 This is a direct drive which means it doesn’t have a belt. If your Ms home looks like this and is not spinning, you need to replace the spin clutch (a very easy job to do). UA-cam has multiple videos showing you how to do it. Good luck.

Why did they get rid of it?

@@cammycamdemos9799 you’d strain the transmission, possibly permanently damage it depending on the load size. I would never even risk that.

They are. I don't think you can interchange the older agitators that were used in the belt drives with direct drive.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv okay thanks! It's an old belt drive for sure. The old Kenmore washer and dryer still have the factory stickers on the lid😂

Yeah I figured that afterwards. I really have yet to use it without catalyst.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv you’re welcome, I think I might be wrong. I am probably most likely not wrong because I’ve noticed that on other cycles like the hand wash cycles on drummerboy’s catalyst. Try the quick wash again but with the catalyst on to see if I am correct. Edit: just do a small load and use default settings with the accuwash.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv The cycle chart I wrote up says Catalyst always runs on Quick Wash and Hand Wash. The KA agitator won't destroy the transmission. It may put a bit of *electrical* strain on the motor if fully loaded for a given water level ... but probably not in this instance being that the load was very small for the level you selected.
