KNOTFEST IOWA was a wild ride straight back to 1999, where the energy and chaos reignited everything I loved about metal and punk rock. It started to rain literally as the first notes started to ring out.
IF RAIN IS WHAT YOU WANT
That storm grew as ferocious as the Slipknot set ripping through their 1999 debut album. The presence of Paul Gray and Joey Jordison were deeply felt with every flash of lightning and thunderclap that rolled through Des Moines on that Saturday night.
Over the past year, I have moshed and sung my heart out to Slipknot, SUM 41, and blink-182, reminding me why I live for these moments. It’s like the universe is telling me that rock never dies; it just evolves. Here are highlights of this beautiful cycle of nostalgia, growth, and the timeless connection we all share through music.
