My go to Fatalis strat honestly just uses the shield cat and just keep spamming its training dummy to get fatalis's attention, and if your cat spawns it infront of him while hes standing you pretty much get free cone attacks
One very helpful tip for GS: if he does a cone and you know you won’t make it out in time, you can just hold block.
Thank you verry much Master
Odd question but why do you have Ice attack on?
bonus set velkana
As a noob this was indeed very helpful
I noticed that he does the cone way more often when you are right in front of him at a certain distance. Obviously I can't tell exactly how much distance, enough to see his entire body and some sky/background. If you are at the right distance and you place yourself in front of his head, he's more likely to use the cone attack. Always when his head is up, of course. It's easier to get when he does the explosive fire sweep thing. If you are too close to him he won't do it, and if you're too far he might do it but you will be on the receiving end so don't go too far from him. Once you get the feeling of the position you have to be in order to bait it, you'll get them more consistently.
If anyone is still watching this, don’t bait come from that far away. Get a little closer
I have over 1000 Fatalis kills but I like to watch stuff like this brings me back
Tbh I would bring my cat if I’m trying to beat Fatalis for the first time solo. For the vigrowasp revive
Very good my friend
great tutorial. may luck sticke you and provide you with better hardware for recording and gaming :D
This gives me hope, thank you
Good job. Nicely done.
It's funny to think that you can beat him using the old GS way. Charge > Roll > Sheathe and repeat. I'll try this on my next run.
Thank you for this guide. It is exactly what i needed : solo gs frostcraft with no fatalis gear yet. Now i know what to do.
ah yes, no fatalis armor/weapon, yet you have 4 piece velkhana Y, and 3 Attack Jewel+ 4.
right agreed, the set itself is not for noob, but he's gameplay actually noob lol, if newbies try exactly like he's dod and with newbies set equipment even if he's not fainted the quest will fail because run off Time lmao
9:07 it is a free TCS if you use Slinger Burst
dang, you got lucky on the cone attack rng
One thing that I noticed, is that you are holding the button to charge an attack a bit too long, once you get the third charge, release it as fast as possible to get some better damage also, you don't need to throw 2 smoke bombs, just throw one, and make sure that chest is softened, as that is more damage from the ballista, which grants you a more guaranteed ballista knock down. You could also eat for food effects, like Felyne Bombardier, to boost the damage further than what you would get without I have never heard someone call the downward flame attack the "Puking attack" lol you can claw onto him while he is doing that downward flame attack to get a free soften in, on either the chest or the head, (please note, that if you claw onto the chest, you may take one or two hits of the attack, so please make sure you can tank them.) if you have evade window 5, it is easy to just regularly roll his 270 flame breath if you have a mid sense of timing You didn't need to use smoke bombs for the roaming ballista for the second time, as he wasn't flying, again, soften the chest, it is just more damage, and his hide also softens up so you do more damage to him. The triple nuke in the third phase gives you a free TCS if you decide to slinger burst. Overall, I would rate this guide a 9/10, could do a tiny bit better, but still a very good and well put together guide (besides a few spelling errors) If you don't want to farm AT Velkhana for the Velkhana Y armor, I would recommend going for the velkhana A or B armor, as it grants the same set bonus. 20 Fire Res is also good, so if you want, you could try going for this build Alatreon Revolution (GS) Health Augment, Affinity Augment Tenderizer Jewel 2 Tenderizer Jewel 2 Rimeguard Helm B+ (Lvl 20) Upgrade Removal Augment Expert Jewel+ 4 Tenderizer Jewel 2 Rimeguard Mail B+ (Lvl 20) Upgrade Removal Augment Expert Jewel+ 4 Vitality Jewel 1 Rimeguard Vambraces B+ (Lvl 20) Upgrade Removal Augment Expert Jewel+ 4 Rimeguard Coil B+ (Lvl 20) Upgrade Removal Augment Critical/Protection Jewel+ 4 Stonethrower Jewel 1 Kulve Taroth's Wrath B+ (Lvl 20) Upgrade Removal Augment Hard Fire Res Jewel 4 Vitality Jewel 1 Vitality Jewel 1 Challenger Charm (CANNOT BE AUGMENTED) (CANNOT HAVE DECORATIONS) Temporal Mantle+ Heavy Artillery Jewel 1 Heavy Artillery Jewel 1 Any other mantle out there *MAKE SURE YOU EAT FOR LARGE ELEMENT* Stonethrower jewel gives you more slinger ammo, so then you are able to do both a flinch shot, then a slinger burst, or two flinch shots. The Upgrade Removal Augment is a bit expensive, and so I would recommend being MR100. It will be a grind, but it will be worth it. (also health augment requires you to be MR100)
Now we need a guide on how to beat arch tempered Velkhana for noobs, lmao
just farm regular velkhana, as the set bonus is the exact same, but with less defense
Bring Aqua shot with Nargacuga essence and as much atq upgrades as you can with artillery secret, that bonus its in Zorah magdaros armor, and Nargacuga armor, because it brings spare shot. Charm can be atq or ele/ammo+ for a bigger mag. The strategy its just fucking nuke at Velkhana with sticky 3.
I HIGHLY recommend, if you can fit it, Evade Extender 3. After doing lots of end game content recently fights feel way more manageable with it.
great guide, only problem is at velkhana is harder to beat than fatalis imo
just stay mostly at the side of his head, everything is super easy to dodge especially the nova, the only one you have to look out for is the icicles and if you hear it forming move around a lot since ATvelk would usually sweep beam after that. He's only really hard if you play with other players, solo is definitely easier, try playing without a palico or if you're having difficulty without a palico go shieldspire and spam stooge so velk will keep spamming icicles and beams on to the stooge
here's a more detailed general tip, the weapon doesn't matter much Out of all of its attacks, there are four that are fairly notable and dangerous, yet very rewarding if answered to correctly: -Sweeping breath attack If Velkhana leaps away from you, you should immediately go and make your way back to it. It usually means that it'll go for its sweeping breath, which deals an insane amount of damage. You can either roll to the left to avoid it with the right timing, which I'd call the better option if you like using Evasion Mantle, or run to the right and attack after making sure that you won't be in the way of the attack. If you are sliding, then may Fatalis have mercy on your soul, because you won't be able to roll through the attack. Your only option wil be to jump over it as it passes through, which is inconsistent at best. -Snowflake attack In one swift breath, Velkhana will create several lines of ice spikes that all converge towards itself, which will all then grow spontaneously at the same time. This attack is scary, but keep calm and make sure not to dodge into harm's way while trying to make it out alive. The ice spikes that are closest to Velkhana will then turn into ice platforms, which can be used as ledges to jump off of. Combine this with Velkhana's long recovery animation, and you'll be able to crush its skull very consistently. -Ice rings attack Is ArchVelk flying above you and spewing its cool breath downwards? Well, rejoice! It's performing its most punishable attack! It generally occurs after tail attacks, but it can happen on its own. If you've fought Alatreon, then you'll be able to get the hang of this attack fairly easly. Velkhana will create rings that explode one after the other, starting from the middle. Simply walk out of the first circle, then roll back into it right after it explodes! You can even just walk or charge out and back in for maximum punish potential. Although, do note that slopes will make this attack much harder to dodge, so I'd recommend fleeing if you got buttery shoes. -Nova attack Velkhana's nova is, surprisingly enough, one of the safest and easiest to punish in Iceborne. It combines the sweeping breath attack with its ice rings attack to take care of both far-off and close hunters. I'd recommend you walk right in. That's right. Get in there and give Velkhana a good ol' hug. You'll be able to dodge the breath entirely, and from there, it just becomes a regular ice rings attack. If the terrain that Velkhana's at is sloped, I'd recommend running away from this attack, although do note that you will have to roll through the breath at least once before making it to safety. Earlier, I've mentionned that my Palico had the Shieldspire as its Palico Gadget, and that is because the Shieldspire Stooge is incredibly powerful in this fight. Not only will it often bait regular attacks, but in the event that it goes for an ice rings attack on your Stooge, you'll know exactly where the first ring will explode, allowing you to walk straight in if you're close enough! Don't forget to ask your Palico to put one down whenever Velkhana moves out of the area. Finally, my last tip is to be as agressive as possible. Is Velkhana locked into a recovery animation while not enraged? Go for a wallbang. Have you mounted it? Make sure to clutch its head after knocking it down to tenderize it pretty-much instantly. Got an opportunity for damage, no matter how small? Go. For. It. This quest will remind you that time limits exist, and it will go out of its way to discipline you until you've become a punishing machine. Anyways, this is it for this comment! Don't give up, hunter!
@@_kahimanawari very epic, much thanks
AT velk just slot in evade window and roll through every attack
Good vid!
I only need to get two more Attack Jewel+ 4. Simple :(
Great video :) Fatalis is just being a complete dickhead when I am playing against him he just doesn't seem to do the breath unless he catches me with a fireball then he'll 100% use the breath and kill me -.-
You know what, this is actually pretty good guide especially for noob like me Cuz I can't play perfect like those god tier pro gamer, their TA video super cool but useless for guiding me beat this ass But this guide is very useful, thx a lot!
