Frostpunk would make amazing televison or movies. I would totally follow a series that goes from FP1 to 2 and maybe exploring the mysterious era inbetween.
The story has its key important moments but it also leaves so much room for creativity.
13:30, in my first run I accidentally forgot to pick up the RIFLE in nowhere from Isa... Let's say I got a lot of reminders on how bad of a mistake that was. Though, I still managed to complete the game and get the Promise Ending.. Adding onto this as I've further watched the video... On the puzzle section, I'm pretty sure some puzzles just aren't supposed to make sense. If you look into some other lore-dives a bunch of parts in the game don't make very much sense. The world is very much altered. While Signalis is open to interpretation, it's definitely made itself very hard to understand as a whole. Though, it does get its general plot across.
very nice video, doomed by youtube algorithm
Not going to "extreme heights" really feels like a nuanced, intentional decision. A big theme is that you are an insect to shodan - she isn't a malevolent "out to get you" antagonist. She has her own plans that she is doing, and you are just an annoyance. The elevator music playing as the station explodes is a juxtaposition. The station explodes, but to shodan it is a minor complication. You have a huge victory destroying the virus, but are now trapped in the seat of shodan power. The games end similarly emphasizes how your "big victory" is still a relatively small thing. Saved humanity, but everyone on the station still died. Stopped shodan, but were responsible for releasing her, and she is still one removed ethical constraint from going back to her fatal plans. The hacker sitting down exhausted, rejecting the job offer, and going back to hacking is accepting the "you are a small cog in a big machine" situation. The deed is done, you aren't a hero, and all you want to do is get away from this and go back to living your life. There are no heros, no grand victories, just trying to live another day
Warmest day in New york
beautifull bro
Came here for a game review left with wisdom
1 thing to note, the moderate communities do have a general believe in one thing (New Londoners being Progress), but do not have firm believes on the 2 other zeitgheists and also are free to vote on what each of them believes is right (not every New Londoner will vote for a Progress law, unless the group proposed it themselfs) and can be negotiated with (due to them having no firm believes overall, just some general preferance). The Factions do have firm believes on all 3 zeitgheists and will not change thier mind. A personal rant about Winterhome... Why tf does Winterhome have 40 Steamcores?!? We (as Captain) scavanged far and wide for those to repair the Dreadnaught! With 40 Cores, we could have safely shut off the Generator or colonise the Coalmine Outpost! And where would those 40 Cores be needed for them to be there in the first plase? We build a Generator ourselfs, it does not need Steamcores to make dammit, only for the special buildings. It would have made sense if it was Tesla City, having been a Steamcore Outpost itself, to have dozens of those things left under the debris. Wish we Colonized that instead of Winterhome. Rant over.
In a week I played 50 hours. It needs some explanation in first place and foun it sometimes hard but when you understand the game, it pounces hard.
One of my games of year! Great rundown.
The New Londoners dont support Mandatory Schooling, Labour Oversight, etc. They only care about machines. They are neutral to everything else (except adaption) as long as its not a radical Law not from the Progress tree.
I enjoyed this video very good job!
Ah yes... Winterhome. When I was playing FP2 and I saw line "We need to return to Winterhome" I just got something like Vietnam flashback
I started sweating when I read that. XD
Holy crap this was an awesome review! Keep it up man!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Frostpunk (2) is one of those games that 100% could be a movie. but what I love about the direction of Fp2 is that it's (probably by accident) a social commentary, it highlights the very problem with an adversarial partisan political system. As opposed to a system based on consultation and cooperation (which wouldn't really make for a good story lol) Fp2 really highlights the problem with the partisan system, it's like a lot of the time you're playing in the middle. Just shows how a partisan system is just polarizing rather than useful.
Technically, it already is. Snowpiercer fills the niche.
Just got around to playing it, I was hesitant because I didn't know how well it aged and some people said it was hard to know where to go. In all honesty it holds up amazingly well and the games directions are rather easy if you pay attention to the audio logs. It just takes time because it's not a chase the checkpoint kind of game. Therefore it takes patience because when given a task it may take an hour before you actually reach the location by exploring.
Yeah, I was fully prepared to get lost since Citadel station is kind of legendary for being very labyrinthine but I ended up having no issues whatsoever in the remake. All I had to do is be diligent with the audio logs, try to collect them all and pay attention to what they say. Every story important room or corridor has a giant sign above the door that says what it is, all the others have no signs. It's a bit immersion breaking but it makes it very easy to follow the logs. Honestly I can't believe people still get lost.
Daaamm……this game looks crazy good. If you go back to streaming, you should do a chat decided run 😜😄

It's such a good concept for a game. It looks really interesting, but I know that if I play this game, I'm just gonna bring communism back.
@ŽidAljaž LOL go for it! 🤣
Technically. You’ll be introducing it to the world. Timeline wise frostpunk 1 is pre-Soviet.
All the more reason I say, you want your utopia be prepared to face what comes ahead.
SS remake is the best representation of cyberpunk in games.
I have never played the game, and u still pulled me into watching ur video. You my friend, are really underrated. I'm looking forward to future videos and your viewer count doesnt say shit about the quality of your videos. Great video!
@@NoEnemies-08 I appreciate your comment a lot :) I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I've played the game after seeing the first thirty minutes from Gab Smolders' (Jacksepticeye's gitlfriend) gameplay, and I agree with your opinion on wanting the game to be longer and to have more interactions with the characters/monsters. In my opinion, I think that I'd want Cas to have in the beginning work at the rig for the first time, build in some extra lore on the companies' shady actions, and showcase hints of what is to come. I think that it would help better understand everything.
@@shayziekaizie 100% agree with you. Just wanted a little more lore.
This game is flawless in the way universally fan acclaimed film is. Some particular thing or set of, is something amazing. You overlook "flaws" . Sure , the flaws are there. The best "art" should be this S teir . I'm old though so , jank is maybe a chuckle . Example, I played OG Tomb Raider, which clipped all the time. Trust me, not one early 20s new dad, played stuff since atari 2600, didn't lose their mind over that game. Pyramids or not.
@myflatlineconstruct Fair enough, friendo, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) I did like a lot about this experience and I have also enjoyed my fair bit of janky messes in my 20+ years of gaming as well. I am trying to be as objective as I can, though, and I can't overlook gameplay issues, especially with the game's price. Money just doesn't go as far as it used to unfortunately.
Im reporting the thumbnail for this video become you are talking about me and i dont like it.

we call this genre of game a "scare boat" in my house!
@@KatieAndCatburger I like that.
I loved the game. So I dunno, man, even you admit it was awesome, you loved so much about it but the gameplay but man, I don’t play for the gameplay loop. Gimme a good story, some really fucking cool spooks, and amazing atmosphere and that’s all I want. I played on Easy, I had a blast. Gimme a tight 5 hour game over a rambling 40 hour fart of a game that is all gameplay and no story. I really thought it was just phenomenal.
@@fnkyron Fair enough, my dude. :)
This game rocks. I played it through game pass and I got hooked
Classic 4 AM upload.
Scanning.. Nothing.. Time to Patrol
You know when you blow up the station and the elevator song play it feels great for me because it represents the simplicity and minimal feeling that you can get from all parts of game If we have something different like kujima style it ruines the vibe of the game And also about the immersive This game drowns you inside it Its not about the choice Its about the experience you get The experience that you find no help You are on your own You have to learn the story and mission progress yourself There's no cutscene that cut you from experience the game You are all in the game But i agree with you about the cyberspace In one word it sucks
The algorithm did this video dirty. It deserves so many more views! Frostpunk is such an incredible game, great job with this analysis!
Fantastic video my dude! I've been in a similar snowboarding scenario in Alberta with the family. A full pack of 5 people got completely separated and due to young person confidence syndrome, I pulled ahead heading down the hill. The problem was that the wind and snow started getting worse and my parents, older sister and her partner didn't catch up. As I was looking back for them, I crashed into the orange barricade preventing people from falling off the slope and ended up sliding underneath the plastic lattice fence down to the black diamond slope! I managed to make it further down, but had no sign of my family. I got scared and the storm only got worse. Just at my lowest point, my sister managed to track me down, pump us both up and we both made to a nearby chalet cabin. We waited anxiously, but the others managed to make it and we waited out the storm for an hour before getting to the bottom of the mountain. In terms of Frostpunk, definitely intrigued for the sequel and loved the first game! I smell a chat led stream in the future *hint hint* Do you still snowboard???
Ayyy another traumatizing snowboarding story! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and hmmmm mayhaps. Also no I haven't snowboarded in a long time, I wouldn't be able to function on a hill anymore. XD
Dude amazing video! You touched on pretty much every reason I love the game so much! I truly believe this game is a masterpiece and I’m also excited for the sequel (I definitely preordered the deluxe out of sheer excitement)
Thank you so much! Also, I'm sure the sequel will be worth every penny.
Snowboarding in a blizzard when you're younger (and lighter) I can only imagine is fucking terrifying. Being completely unable to carve through the snow is a situation that happened to me once on a big ol blue square hill that was literally just one huge downhill, I think I made it down 60% of that hill falling. That being said This Punk is pretty Frost innit?
The punk be frostin!

I think there is an audio log somewhere on Citadel stating that the whole station was created as a labyrinth on purpose to confuse its inhabitants and that all residents are mere lab rats.
Elden ring is actually the hardest fromsoft game I don’t know why u consider it the easiest. I had an easier time with sekiro. The punish windows are tight and u have to mix dodging with attacking
Sekiro reminded me that I am not that good at video games. XD I never managed to beat it, I got extremely stuck and I haven't gone back yet. I will go back to it in time, but there are so many games I have to play first before I return to it.
Go and play Brutal Doom.
Didn't really like the cyberspace in this one in the original cyberspace was over very quickly while this one takes forever to get through.
I do not think souls will ever get stale. Fromsoft created their own game genre with the popularity of DS1. Souls like is far more fun than than literally anything else nowadays. This DLC was incredible for me it’s not perfect and it has a lot of issues more so than the base game but I enjoyed it a ton. I can think something it a 10/10 and know there is flaws. I’m for sure looking forward to anything Fromsoft does next be it a new game or another souls game. That’s also something I’m looking forward for the next souls game I love this genre.
It's massive but empty. When it's not empty, then occupied with main game enemies. This dlc is not a masterpiece. Let's be real. The beat thing about dlc is boss battles. That's it.
Thats fair, its not perfect. But I loved the DLC.
