'Classic Albums Tube' looks at the writing and recording of some of the greatest albums of our era. Musicians, producers, and engineers are interviewed in the studio, and the master tapes are played, sometimes isolating particular channels, to highlight certain instrumental sounds or voices. Many of the musicians play live along with the tracks, demonstrating how they played the parts. In some cases, group members are reuniting after considerable time as they reminisce together.

The fact that all of this exists because our little Danish friend wasn’t cut out for tennis is mind blowing.
Good 😊
So in the background of krist talking we have the nirvana smiley face logo which is in fact of a dead person ie, eyes crossed and tongue hanging out. Strange.
Paige boy david fricke is a joke.....
David fricke reminds me of a guy that has all the credentials but literally can’t add any insight to anything, can’t play any instruments, has zero relatability to musicians. Represents musicians as a journalist 😅
too many talking heads on these vids and not enough music )-:
The origins of the Sandman's riff is here: ua-cam.com/video/yWHlr3U_s8Q/v-deo.html That album where it is, was given to Metallica guys in '88.
😁QXss...yess
🧐yeessss..QXs
I love James but the Intro to Nothing Else Matters is similarly the same intro to Parliament Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain!
@05:35, this man knows.
I was a teenager back when the black album came out!! It was amazing and so dam cool❤
I took the black album to the operating room when I had to have my first open heart surgery the nurses put on Enter Sandman in the operating room
Dave is shirt only famous cause of kurt
Double platinum in NZ in 1991. More then half the population bought the album. Haha that's sick as
where's Part. 2 I need it sm😭
Its like Jesús, he died for us
Why do i love nirvana so much???? Idk
Others hate this album, because it made Metallica richer and more famous....those haters, just want their bands to remain poor, drug addicts, drunk and miserable as f@ck.
One of my favorite things to do to kill time is to watch this video of the black album, then Some kind of Monster, then the making of Hardwired. To see the turmoil of the band and the growth and everything. Awesome.
Can also include the making of the Black Album (A Year and A Half In The Life Of Metallica), the making of Load, and the making of Death Magnetic in there too.
To think that Jason is doing these interviews realizing that he was about to quit the band.
I've always appreciated that Jason takes a level of responsibility for the bass on Justice. He was new to the band and hadn't fully integrated yet (you could argue they never 100% fully integrated him, leading to his departure), and was used to bass largely doubling the guitar parts. And then on the production end, with how the guitars were recorded and mixed, there wasn't a lot of room for bass on the record. And whatever room there was, it got pushed out by Lars and James. A really unfortunate confluence of factors
Michael Kameň is music legend like Metallica
Jeez i love Butch. He was the right one for the job. He and Steve are super sweet people but more importantly incredibly bright and talented guys. Love you, Smart Studios. 🙏💖 miss you Kurt.
this is his best album.
Aint official unless jason makes his bass face
Tony Hawk was in the video of SLTS
SEPTEMBER 27, 2000 JASON NEWSTED OFFICIALLY LEAVES METALLICA. SEPTEMBER 27, 1986 CLIFF LEE BURTON DIES OF A BUS ACCIDENT IN LJUNGBY, SWEDEN WHILE TOURING FOR THE MASTER OF PUPPETS ALBUM.
lol Thurston Moore going for the stolen valor, jealous gatekeeping tool
I'll never forget I owned a skate shop at the time Nevermind came out. I received 50 Nirvana stickers from this guy David Geffen. We plastered those stickers everywhere until we ran out. So what does a 15 year old skater do, well he calls Geffen Records and asks to speak to David. The young lady on the other end of the phone says he tied up, can she take a message. I'm like he sent me 50 Nirvana stickers, could I get 50 more. Few days later, 50 more Nirvana stickers showed up in the mail.
you owned a business at 15?
@@fuckcensorship69 yeah. A skate shop. I still have one the Nirvana stickers on a old guitar, only one left. We plastered everywhere with those stickers. All over the school, teachers desks, walls, fire extinguishers
Imagine the Justice album with Black album production....
First time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit. At Jimmy's house, and Jason was there...They both said, Eagle, you gotta listen to this...pushed play, and the first 10 second opening riff blew me away!!! I made them both rewind the tape or pushed playback button on disc, I can't remember? But I made them replay that intro so many times they got annoyed with my insistence! But now, all I remember about that album is that i know all the sounds and notes and which song imprinted on me like a young duckling. Incredible emotions to live in the time of fast changing permanent parts!! The rest is history! I am so happy to be alive! I hope my kids can experience an equivalent type of movement?!
It just gets better with age. Nirvana !
Pretty good tunes 👌
Does anyone know what film Krist mentioned that Kurt liked about the kids taking over the school?
Over the Edge (1979)
@@steliana26 many blessings
Bought this album based solely on the Album cover….. It was 1991 and I’m working for the US military in Germany….. Was blowing away by it……. Rock music the way it should be….. Love my Judas Priest like I love my Ramones….. Great songs touch millions!!
Wow Butch is a master of his craft
KRIST ANTHONY NOVOSELIC 16 DE MAYO DE 1965 57 AÑOS (58)
I’m glad never wasted money for a Nirvana “show”. The child had no respect for the people. Anyway, around 90s, Nirvana was a girl’s band.
Nevermind released Sept '91 and by Jan '92 it was selling 300k copies per week.
Jerry Garcia perfected the art of copying a vocal melody with his guitar
Think we figured what went wrong... they used to be hard on themselves to be super tight in their performances, meaning being on top of your playing... and Lars stopped working that hard for awhile after the Black Album
Not at all, Watch 1994 gigs and 1995 , even on Load and Reload he is creative and tight as fuck. by 1989, to mid 90's his back beat became better in the bounce. And he could still unleash the double kick and thrash stuff
They got fat and happy. Give a musician a million dollars and they’re going to prefer doing drugs and socializing to playing for fans that don’t care for the most part anyway. Most people can’t discern between a good and bad rock show. It’s a small number of people who truly appreciate music.
Well said. @@Gcssdvnkloiutesc
Man I wish I could have seen them live, but I was born too late
vig is a genius
Meet Nevermind in 1997 maybe, hear it, brings me memories about beer whisky and cigarrets ...when I was 16 years old.
