Am I the only one who loved the Justin-ezer storyline? Then again, I'm only new to the Archers.

A unique experience with books and a train. Alnwick railway station opened 1887, and closed 1968. The trainshed survives intact, and is now home to Barter Books. Far more than a book shop, the interior has been skilfully laid out to provide multipurpose areas for a truly social and educational experience. The overhead train is a permanent reminder of the buildings original use.

Why doesn’t Fallon get herself a food van like Ian and tour the festival circuit? That would be right up her street and seemed to allow Ian to support a small family.

The housing estate was literally built on Bridge Farm land wasn’t it? How can it feel suburban? Surely it’s a tiny housing estate that leads right into footpaths across the farm?

Poor Fallon, she deserves a bit of good fortune 😢

Beavers:- This gives scope for Kirsty and Rex to travel by boat up The Am to research all things beaver. Of course, they would not have a couple of stowaways on the journey home. Charging station units:- Fallons unit has been downgraded twice, meaning people are coming along in the old gazumping style? Or, nobody else is interested in the useless units, so Fallon has drawn the short straw.

People joining fun runs to get to see their MP????? Nope…..won’t happen…. I thought it was totally unrealistic as there is no way an MP would respond so proactively in this situation. They would signpost to either surgery or email with details. MPs on a fun run look for publicity for the reason they are running.

I enjoyed the integration between the family lives of David and Tony. Especially Peggy, Tony and Tom. I hope that the beeb celebrates the lives of June Spencer and her character. She has been part of The Archers since it began.

Just stumbled across your channel…I’ve been listening to the Archers for over 60 years now….one of my frustrations was the changing of some of the character actors when a new producer came on board (now some time ago) and we lost some of the long standing actors. So many of the new people sound so similar….given it’s radio it is so important that voices have differing sounds and intonation. So many of the men sound the same. Have subscribed and will join in on the discussions

If I were to answer Felicity’s question, as Tony, I think I’d actually say Mrs P. I loved Mrs P just as I did (🥲) Peggy, however the pattern as far as we know starts with her. Peggy got it from Mrs P and her nature was probably hardened through all her problems with Jack Archer, Peggy hasn’t always been hard and she was often softer either her grandchildren than her children (especially when I started listening in the late 80s)

Brilliant interview. Thanks to all three. Tom and Tony’s relationship echoes Tony and Peggy’s. Both are desperate for the approval of their parent. The other part of the problem is John. There’s Tony’s guilt about John’s death and Tom has, and still does, try to live up to and emulate his big brother. Tom, I seem to remember, somewhat idolised John (can’t blame him) as I there’s an element of hero-worship and also an element of trying to please Tony by being more like John (or even ‘replace’ him) rather than being himself. John has always been a big shadow over the family (including Pat and Helen) ever since his death.

I’d be pretty hurt if I was Emma, I don’t think she got any kind of send off from the tea room. She’s been there from the start and she hasn’t even left to start a rival business like Fallon.

His recall to duty was so urgent, Harrison couldn't have a cuppa before leaving home. If he doesn't survive the riot, Fallon will be devastated. In the very short term, she won't be able to cope. There is no money, nor a back up plan, for the new cafe due to open in 2 months. No need to find a new name .... unless Natasha transfers her Summer Orchard money into a second cafe venture?

If there weren’t many crossover fans before, now there are probably plenty of them (including me). 😅 I started listening to The Archers because of Andrew, and it’s been an amazing and grounding experience. It was great to learn a bit more about past events. There’s so much to know about the characters (and there are so many of them) that I feel lost sometimes. 🤭 Also, I loved how fun and dynamic this interview was. I was slightly sad it’s less than one hour long, though it was great not taking more than two days to watch it. 😊

I would love to get involved in these discussions, but I only listen to the Omnibus episode (usually when I’m labelling my jams etc) 😂
