    So the idea is the hands are supposed to turn over after impact with the driver? The turn over is after impact of course? Are you using your right hand to force the turn over or centrifugal force in the release?

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf Місяць тому

      @@dry509 Everyone feels the release differently. When trying to feel the release it’s often times easier to hold the club waist high and feel how much force/effort it takes to rotate the face down towards the ground. Often times I will even ask the player which hand do they feel it more in

    I've seen a couple of videos already & I think u have a deep understanding of golf mechanics. Your attention to detail comes thru. In this instance, weakening the left hand is rarely taught. I use this method for my basic chips around the greens Keep up the good work

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf Місяць тому

      Thanks so much for the kind words and for sharing your approach! Weakening the left hand is definitely unconventional, but it can be super effective for controlling loft and spin, especially on delicate shots like chips. It's great to hear you're already using it! Let us know if there’s a specific topic you'd like us to cover next. Appreciate the support!

    No joke I just practiced this drill at the range especially the part where I feel like I'm just lifting my arms up at the end of the back swing and it did wonders to my ball striking. Is there a way I can transition this drill to fix my driver swing?

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf Місяць тому

      That’s awesome to hear! Glad the drill is already improving your ball striking. Transitioning it to your driver swing is definitely possible. With the driver, focus on maintaining that feeling of lifting the arms while also creating width at the top of the backswing. Then, let the arms drop naturally to start the downswing without rushing your shoulders. This helps prevent coming over the top and encourages a more in-to-out path, perfect for those longer, straighter drives. Let us know how it works for you!

    a few questions if you don't mind! i play from something kind of similar (at least with irons) in that i pretty much do the faldo pre-set drill to start my swing, then go from there. i do suffer from runoff regardless, though, so this is super interesting to me and i'm gonna give it a shot and see how it feels. any thoughts on the difference between irons/driver with this? i've become extremely consistent with irons but driver is kind of a mess if i try to use my normal pre-set drill swing. and then, have you seen a big loss in speed with this? i know i've lost some speed with pre-set and i assume eliminating runoff is going to cost some speed.

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf Місяць тому

      Great questions! The Faldo pre-set drill is a solid approach, especially for keeping things controlled, but I get how runoff can still creep in. Giving this drill a try should help reduce that inconsistency, and I’m excited to hear how it feels for you! For irons vs. driver: The main difference comes down to the setup and the attack angle. With irons, you're hitting down slightly, so the pre-set and controlled motion work well. For the driver, though, the goal is to hit up on the ball, so maintaining width in your backswing and allowing a slight upward angle of attack is key. You may need to feel a bit more "stretch" at the top with your driver to avoid cutting off speed and ensure you're not losing the natural upward motion for distance. On speed loss: Yes, eliminating runoff can initially feel like you’re losing speed, but that’s often because you're gaining control and reducing wasted motion. Once you get used to the more efficient path, you'll likely find it easier to swing faster because everything syncs up better. Focus on quality of contact first, and speed will follow naturally. Let me know how it goes!

      Great video. There are so many who rule out presetting the wrist saying it destroys the swing. As a result I’ve battled for years to avoid that with little improvement. There’s a guy from England who years ago launched his 365 system which involved presetting the wrist and one of the earliest UA-camrs “the secret swing” if I remember correctly, also had a preset wrist. So now I will return to your system - and by the way, this looks very suitable for senior golfers like me👍

    Hi. Thanks so much for a really well-explained and demonstrated lesson. Would it be unusual to see both releases used in a golf game? For example, an active release when using a driver\fairway woods and an under-release when using irons? Or is it best to focus on one release type? Cheers from Canada

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf Місяць тому

      Typically it would be unusual to see both release patterns used but sometimes it does feel like there is more of the release the longer the club gets. For example most players feel a slight release with wedges and irons but as they get to the driver it feels more exaggerated or more release is required to hit the longer clubs straighter

    Great video split screen from head on and down the line added a lot of perspective. During the driver portion when you verbalized the bit of taking a practice swing and practicing the bottom of the club hitting the ground, it appeared that the club was also manually lofted such that not only the bottom, but also the back of the club hit the ground. If that is correct that is a tip that I had not heard before and makes so much sense, especially when the context of backspin, accuracy, and distance to the drive is included.

    • @CrucesTotalGolf
      @CrucesTotalGolf 2 місяці тому

      Thanks so much for the feedback! You're absolutely right about the driver portion. When I mentioned brushing the ground near the right foot, it's more about allowing the club to bottom out naturally, and yes, that can include the back of the club brushing the ground slightly. This helps ensure you're delivering the club with the correct angle of attack for that upward strike. It's a subtle but powerful way to improve accuracy, reduce backspin, and gain distance. Glad it clicked for you-let me know how it works in your practice!
