Solo Trip Day 4 Soak in Alkali Hot Springs, Area 51 alien center, and a Nevada geocache!
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 місяці тому
On my day 4 solo road trip adventure, I started out on the hunt for a hot spring. I went for a soak in Alkali Hot Spring as I watched burrows drink from a nearby watering hole with amazement. Alkali is clothing optional and was just what I needed. After my soak I explored an old building with some pretty great graffiti and found a Nevada geocache. Once on the road I just had to stop at the Area...

Bummer:( I had something similar happen at the Gila Hotsprings too, friggin people!!!! Animals just want food they might make a mess of your stuff, but they just want to eat, I can relate. Bad humans will look u in the face, smile, and rob u blind. It's important to remember tho, that for every piece of crap out there that does this, there are probably 100 of us that don't! Shit happens but don't let it get you too down. Reasons like this it can be sketchy to do solos. Be safe out there .

There's another one in this area I haven't been to, not sure if it is private property or not. I've been to this one long ago. High ground clearance is a must, 4WD might be helpful, but it is all "roads." The dam and canal structures served a city that went bust.

Someone probably thought it was an abandoned campsite. All the years of camping nothing is left out when I leave the camp site. I have seen people leave things behind when they leave the camp site

Up into the 2000s you could leave your camp almost anywhere in Rockies, but too many remote workers, homeless, and desperate people are camping now so you can't leave your camp at all anymore to hike during the day. It really sucks. (Edit: most remote workers weren't raised in the West or with outdoors/ wilderness ethics and tend to have zero respect for others.)

Someone knew they were robbing a camp. Can't leave anything out in the open. I've been lucky. I usually set up a larger tent and everything gets stored inside or goes with me in the vehicle. Only wood, some cloths to air-out and washed pot, pan, plate, bowl, cup & utensils on a table to air dry are out. Got to keep close to a set-up camp. Can be bad in isolation out in the boonies. It only takes one of "them" to ruin a great wilderness trip - moment.
