Awesome
Lost me on the net throw
HAHA yeah that was horrible
I love hunt and love watch hunt vídeo. But hunting start get out control. With all the money gear cost plus guide . It’s much better and easy walk to your local farm and buy feel cows for the year and you still have money left for caribe vacation.
everything is out of control. Stonesheep hunts have gone up $40,000 in three years
its insane
Excellent shot! Fun to read the comments of the nay sayers who know nothing about long range hunting. My longest is 1102 yds on a small whitetail doe across a soybean field in SC. 7mag/162 gr Amax. I've never lost a deer!
I try to take it all with a geain of salt. Everyone has their opinion but their opinions only really matter to them good or bad. I say to each his own. whatever that looks like is the part that should matter. thanks
thank you for all equipment info
Good job... Don't listen to all the haters in the comments bunch of key board jockeys that cant shoot the broad side of a barn. So they try and down play your hunting experience. Aw thats unethical,aw whats the point of camo,aw what ,you aren't stealthy enough to sneek up behind it and sniff its ass,aw my dads a better shot,... Thanks for taking the time to post your hunt and content.. All you haters have you heard about the tide pod challenge definitely should consider giving it a go.. 😂😂
Thanks for showing the gear.
Instead of all the laughing & the bullshit comments. Maybe you should have taken that second shot sooner than you did.. Otherwise, it makes it appear as though you get off on your game suffering●
What rifle?
We call it "The Warden" chamber in 300 Norma. This particular rifle was a 300 Norma improved.
I got a 300 on mine and I’m thinking of repowering it what is the top speed with the 450
Every boat will be different but mine is mid to low 70's depending on the load.
“Give me a yardage.” “400 yards.” “Damn, too close. Let’s back up 430 yards.”
With Calling like that, you’re surprised you blew it!!?? Wtf!!!!
@My Outdoor Quest Which stock is that?
What’s next can’t wait !!! Become an online boss - P r o m o s m!!
Trouble is that many people watch this stuff and think it easy. I would also promote the idea of moving closer. I have a 300 Weatherby and I know it’ll reach way out there, but a high percentage of the time there is a way to get closer. That being said. Cool rifle and great shot.
Cowards
Gotta have the "gear" top end gear=expensive! But gotta have it. And the training. Train train train. And the team and mainly know when not to shoot! Gusty winds...
Not something I would brag about. If you could have snook up on him and grabbed his tail you'd have had my admiration!
Great choice for long range elk hunting cartridge, thanks!
Nice shot! Most of the guys on here making poor comments must not hunt in the high elevation dessert. When I first moved to WY everyone laughed when I said I don’t shoot at anything past 200 yards.
Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has different abilities. It's up to you to know your limits regardless of the situation. It's not up to someone else to decide your limitations. Do what works for you but not much since in negative comments but people are people. We comment on things that we shouldn't because we think our opinion matters when it doesn't. It's a worldly condition brought on by social media in general and it's a problem overall. Just my two cents that really don't matter because it's simply my personal opinion nothing more.
All 6 animals my family has taken in Nevada and the 10+ my extended family has taken have all been between 200-300yds which is a shot pretty much anyone can make, but if you practice and can shoot out to 600yds your gonna have waaaay more shot opportunities and probably be able to take a bigger bull elk, deer, etc simply because those ones are smarter and won't let you get close. I personally limit myself to 600 because that's where my rifle drops below 1k ftlbs and the bullet no longer has enough velocity to expand
@@jeredjoplin5087 You're right. Social media has presented an engraved invitation for people to record whatever flits across their wee little brains and put it in print.
Don't be lazy, next time get closer.
You should be out in jail. Shoot steel not animals at that distance
Kevin’s a good guy I have a ton of Q’s stuff HoneybadgerSD Fix and mini fix silencers all around great guy and great company. He has a Swarovski scope I don’t know what model but I’m looking to get one he says they’re the best so I’d love to get one this seems like a pretty easy zeroing process. Good video guys
Is that rifle built by snowy mountain?
Sorry but I did not hear what the brand of binoculars were .
It's in the video.
I read all the negative comments here and just had to stick up a little for this guy. I thought the same way until a couple guys in Utah showed me what newer equipment can do. A few years ago I wouldn't take a shot over 300 yrds and now 500 yards is now a chip shot. Took my elk this year thru the heart at 590. Do lots of practicing and find your limits don't just start casting!!
Sorry man, this is an assassination, it’s not hunting. There’s zero woodcraft involved, no fair chase, no respect for the animal. I’ve been hunting all my life. At 57 I’m still using open sights and filling tags every year. This Hubble Telescope mounted on a Million Magnum rifle isn’t a hunting arm.
@@pamtnman1515 That is your opinion which is just fine. I think all rifles are kinda cheating. I mostly bow hunt for a bigger challenge. Do whatever makes you happy sir.
@@mtnaddict4907 i don’t like moral relativism like this. The “you do what you like and I’ll do what I like and it’s all the same.” No it’s not. It’s BS. There is right and wrong in the world, and we all make choices about which side to stand on. Shooting an animal from 830 yards is wrong. It sure isn’t hunting.
@@pamtnman1515 like I said that's your opinion and you are entitled to have one. Have a good day!
@@mtnaddict4907 I’m sorry for your generation. You are losing America with this nonsense mentality. Stand up, be strong, stand for what is right and healthy. Or watch the Chinese take over after the tough old guys like me are gone. The Chinese will learn to hunt elk on your stomping grounds if you don’t get your head screwed on straight
The longer the shot, the shorter the “hunt”. No hunt here. No adrenaline. Just math. Animals go to certain places for a reason. They get pushed and learn where safe is. Surprise. Not safe anymore. And the wounded animals. Bet there are a lot. Good thing you guys were wearing camo…
next time try for for 2 miles
damn that thing s a cannon! 212 gr at 3,150!!!🤯🤯🤯
From one Elk hunter to another I'm sure you mean well, yet shouldn't we be bragging about how close we got, not how far we shot?
When I have my bow in my hand yes sir. Everyone has their own experience.
@My Outdoor Quest ...well said and good to know that you're a bowhunter. Don't you prefer to stalk in close and actually hunt them where you get the experience of hearing their breath and even smelling their musk "in the rut"? My fondest memories are when I'm on'em so close I can see the saliva dripping from their mouth when they bugle!
@@lanetaglio I love all of it. I've trained a lifetime to be able to take shots like that. No different in training with my bow to take and know what shot I can make count. Everyone has their own experience and that's what makes it so personal. Nothing replaces a good bow hunt. Just my two cents.
@@lanetaglio You must be one of the knuckle heads that believes in getting naked and put on a leather G string and leather slippers then think you can sneak up to a deer to put the gun barrel in the ear of the deer and everyone else has to do just everything that you do.
Absolutely beautiful tomahawk steak. Looks perfect
thank you
Is it Bergara?
You call that hunting????? SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry you feel that way. "Together we stand and decided we fall". Remember that next time you voice your opinion on the net. Best of luck.
THIS IS A BUCKET LIST TOO GET A BULL ELK AND LONG SHOT! IVE LOOKED AT THE SCHOOLS AND NOT CHEAP AND MATH OVER MY HEAD. BUT I KNOW, BURRIS!!!N HELPS USDUMMIES! LOL
Sure are a lot of self proclaimed moral experts on here. I say great shot, good job! Guess most of the moral experts don’t ride atv’s or utv’s, use stands or blinds, corn piles or any other attractive smelling bait right? Guess the morals only go so far back right?
I say if your are hunting you are promoting an activity we all love and we should all support each other while we can.
Jarred what does the whole rifle cost, the setup that you used ? Actually just the 338 Norma Mag, not the improved. Thanks for explaining what equipment that you used.
The Warden rifle in a magnum caliber is $6950
@@myoutdoorquest7597 Wow! Seven grand for a rifle? I'd have to be in the business of hunting and shooting as a profession to spend that much, so it could be a legitimate business expense, not just for a sometime hobby. But like everything else, to each his own.
@@myoutdoorquest7597 thank you my brother. Keep shooting !
@@bustabass9025 👍👍👍
Nothing cheap about the long range game.@@bustabass9025
Lots of $$$$ equals ... looking cool & less work. That wasn't "hunting."
Ethical shooting ranges are not stagnant numbers...some of these guys weapons make your pop pops 30-06 look like a muzzle loader.
Well it's not so much a question of energy...I ran the numbers on this guy's load, and it was putting out 2050 ftlbs on target... decent obviously, but I have a 30-06 load that puts just over 1550ftlbs on target at the same distance...an elk is not going to feel good being hit by either........but for this guy's load, it takes just at 1 second of flight time at that range... then factor in the rifles base accuracy, then shooters best accuracy, etc.... it's obviously doable, but risky....like when shooting at steel you don't care about a bad shot, but when it's a animal...I think we owe it a sure, and quick death...I know the elk a hard to get close to, but honestly that's part of what makes hunting, different from target shooting.
@@RobertSmith-xh4lx I'm sure you are the kind of loudmouth that cheers when a bow hunter gut shoots a deer or Elk and never finds it but watch a long-range rifle shot on deer or Elk that dies then you go nuts talking crap about rifle hunters. Just watch the bow hunting videos and the comments to someone that kills an Elk or deer at an extended range with a rifle. Knuckle heads like you say nothing about the study Oregon - Washington - Idaho did on bow hunter losses of Elk and deer that showed 85% of Elk shot by bow hunters aren't ever recovered and 75% of deer aren't found. Bow hunters have done so much damage to the North Oregon coast Roosevelt bull Elk the state cut back on the rifle hunters' days and only allowed spike bulls to be shot because the bow hunters cause such loss of adult breeding bulls and lost bull Elk.
I had no idea about bow hunters being so unethical, and would definitely not condone their actions...I was replying to the first commenter that was saying "these long range hunters are shooting cartridges that make your grandpa's 30-06 look like a pop gun"... (paraphrasing)...I was merely stating that even with large magnums it's risky taking long shots at game...and it's like the hunters that do take pride in the distance, instead of their stalking skills...also I think you need to take a chill pill...no reason to be so nasty.
@@RobertSmith-xh4lx The level of stupidity and ignorance you have is mind boggling! How about you go to Wyoming or here to the Pacific NW and see the massive canyons here where it is miles deep canyons and from gully's to miles across and steep 45% to the bottoms or worst or in like Wyoming the deer - Elk and Antelop good lick with your silly idea to be some Indian wearing a leather G string and buck skin moccasins who sneaks up on the animals to grab it by the ear and stick the gun barrel in the animals ear to shoot it. You talking this way is all too common of stupid green horns with zero to little hunting - guns & ammo experiences. If you want to hunt this way sneaking right up with in feet of animals with a weak deer gun 30-06 have at it ! I happen to own these kinds of long-range hunting rifles so I can tell you nothing is a risk in using these Highly accurate rifles in combination with long-range High-quality scopes the hunter has used to a point you have a logbook on loads and ranges to set the target knobs to after using a range finder to find the animal's range. The hunter also before the shot check the wind for the shot and some extreme range the figuring in the turn of the earth as the bullet is in flight, shooting long range is a challenge that not everyone can do. And using cartridges with extreme energy insures even a slight off shot kills the animal. How about you stay with the bow hunting video's then give criticism where it is do with the unethical bow hunter wasting animals? UA-cam video is with many bow hunters actually admitting the Elk to deer they shot was never found! Oregon Roosevelt Elk have been decimated by Bow hunters so bad the state is seeking ways to increase bull Elk numbers by cutting season days on rifle hunters and how has told bow hunters Thay can only chose to bow or rifle hunt tags no longer can hunt in both seasons.
@@Lure-Benson you just said you are checking the wind during the shot, which shows you are making sure you don't mess up the shot because of wind drift... that's the part I think is risky... plus flight time makes risk factor go up...why do you keep bringing up bow hunters, I don't like it when anyone, no matter what they are hunting with wounds an animal...also getting back to long range hunting...I understand it's work to stalk closer to the animal, but is that not what hunting is?... Of course I can bring my target rifle out to the field and smoke a game animal at 700 yards, and even beyond. but was that really an accomplishment?...You being a human are a top predator,...at least try to make it a challenge between your stalking ability, and the animals sense's,...
A Want a be Sniper or hunter? " Send it " really !!! I was taught as a good hunter you stalk close enough to be sure as possible to make humane shot . Don't mean to be a troll but understand Im not the one who posted this to brag to every one on You Tube . Thousands of dollars for rifle and optics to make a long shot like that ?. I respect the old guys in there red flannel shirts and Levis with their 30-30's more ...hmmm how did they ever do it ? People see stuff like this and we will be lucky if this sport is around many more generations
cry me a river............
@@lrlapua8035 exactly
Well said
Hmmm, so you still hunt with a musket huh? Why did those old timers use lever guns that technologically were space ships compared to what the previous generation used? Why did the all mount scopes on them when optics became available? Because they used every single thing to gain an advantage. They taught you to get close because the technology the had when the learned to him required it.
Never shot any of my 40+ animals over 150 yards stalk in, have a friend who has shot 2 nice Bulls and never found either at 800-1000 yards nice shot but not one I would ever take
That’s good that you know your limitations. Everybody should. Unfortunately they don’t.
And had you missed and badly wounded the beast what then. That sort of distance should be for target shooting, that's why shooters have a bad reputation and only fuels anti-gun hysteria.
It wouldn't have been shown, bad shots on Saturday don't sell rifles on Monday.
Do you still have your 300 Norma imp dies from whidden and want to sell?
I should yes. You are welcome to them.
So you aimed for the neck or you missed your target by a foot? Lol 🤣 lucky shot!
shot was off by about 8". I used everything there to bracket the area off and take what I felt was a safe shot. sorry if you disagree.
Stupid shot also. Just shows a lazy hunter. Anyone willing to risk a clean humane shot at anything over 50o is just someone who don,t wanna walk. Sick of morons like this giving good ethical hunters a bad name when they lose game to poor shots they can,t make but their ego,s wont let them turn down.
@@twolak1972 did he make the shot? Pretty sure he did.
Great shot , animal down in its track
Couldn't get any closer?
My first ever elk was last year October 2020 at 825 yards. Tried for 2 days to get closer but it was so dry it was impossible. So day 3 I had the advantage. I had been shooting out to 1500 yards all summer and was very comfortable with the shot when I took it. And yes the elk had a chance but he kept coming back to the same bedding area.
Hahahahahahahaha. Nice.
Nice shot. Anything over 350 yards Definitely is not ethical hunting. Jst because you can does not make it right or ethical. It's definitely not ethical hunting. It's flat out killing with no fare Chace. No animal has a chance at those ranges. 👎👎👎👎👎 Most real ethical hunters get all their big game under 320 yrds on the average. Sad. Ben hunting big game for 35 years. Most my game is under 200 yrds and farthest was 337 yrds. 😁👍❤
