Wow how many rods do you need
About 10 more haha
Have you ever flipped ?
I did once when I first got a kayak and was on the river. Was just a fun float and wasn't even fishing. Got pinned up against a log and flipped her.
Thanks for the video it was great Can you share how long the battery pack seems to last Thank you
I’ve read it’ll last 100 cycles (down and up being 1 cycle) but I’ve never ran the battery down in a day. I do charge it after every trip
Thank you
Great footage! I like the added pics of the bass on the board and the updates on the time and your total inches. Very nice!
Thanks!
Happened to me a few weeks ago, fell as I cast the rod. Rod overboard, used a chatterbait to drag bottom and somehow hooked onto the line! 400 bucks saved!
Wow that’s awesome!
Even though I rarely keep fish I always carry a chain Stringer with me If you open all of the safety pins on the Stringer and tie it to your fishing line you can drag it back and forth in the area where you dropped something and often catch it I have recovered fishing nets and fishing poles and even an older gentleman's glasses just a little hack you might want to consider
That’s a great idea! Thanks! I can’t remember exactly how deep this was but probably 10’ range, just got lucky when I came back a couple days later dragging bottom
Nothing like LSC!👊💥🎣
is that like sediment on the top of the water or like a pollutant?
It’s just sediment or something
Tips On how to stop Losing lures on Trees/Rocks??
I get stuck a lot but making sure my Texas rig hook is buried in the plastic almost every cast helps out. Also different brands of baits work better in the real thick stuff depending on how durable the plastic is.
Thousands of us have. But thanks for asking. Goff luck.
Thanks that was actually the first one I’ve caught flipping. Have caught several with a crankbait tho
@@theloonangler Oh yeah. Cool. I’ve caught bass while catfishing. ( using worms and sometimes they strike when reeling in ). I live in Cali best of luck my friend. Great to hear fishing stories. Rock on bidfy
Grrr. That was supposed to say BUDDY. sorry
Don’t see the point of having a dozen rods for one person,
I used to not carry that many but I go through a lot of rods sometimes in a day on the water
right this is too much stuff. like its fishing dude. a boat and a few rods tackle box/bag and some drinks. this dude got a whole ass bass pro shop on his kayak. FFS
And I love every minute of it
Fuck those guys, bring 100 poles if you like. So long as you enjoying yourself the way you want!!! @@theloonangler
beauty my man 😮 great catch
Well done man!
Thanks!
I have never fished Eagle Creek
It’s a fun lake!
Show pike and musky fishing, anyone can catch bass
ya most people can catch a bass. I used to go with my family up to northern Minnesota on fishing trips and I loved going after musky and pike. Not many areas where I'm at now that have them though and I love to bass fish.
💞Wow🧡🧡🧡🧡💜🧡💜💜
Good job man! This is a make I really want to fish again it’s been probably 12 years!
Thanks! It’s one of my favorite lakes. It can be a little stingy but once you figure it out it’s pretty much non stop action all day!
@@theloonangler I definitely want to go back we were going on a regular basis and that’s how I felt about it! Also loved catching some great crappie and white bass in it!
Kinda looks like this. t3.ftcdn.net/jpg/06/57/51/68/360_F_657516836_1PfbffApHOg62hpFByqg4tSeZ5VFARkD.jpg
Great vedio! Edits look great! Keep it up, my friend. Congratulations on the W. Oops.. wrong team.. lol
Thanks Gary, hope to see you out there soon!
You don’t see many people add the Steadycast to a kayak which puzzles me. I’m getting all the pieces together to add to my PA14 with Xi3. Have you experienced any issues with interference using the Xi3? Being in close proximity motor I’m curious if it causes any issues. Thank’s and super clean setup!
Thanks. I wasn’t initially but I’ve had some problems the last time out with the steadycast. I need to recalibrate it I think and hoping that fixes it.
Great video man!
Appreciate it!
Are you using scupper plugs? I was debating on adding to my PA as well. I love your build BTW
Thanks! Ya I’m using the scuppers. If you don’t with the front mount motor then water will come up through the scuppers when you are going full throttle
Great video dude, you're editing is catching up to your angling!
Thank! Been trying to learn some new things and have some cool stuff coming down the pipeline!
Thanks for posting this, I tried Eagle Creek a couple of times in 2022 and didn't get a single bite, so I haven't been back. Maybe I'll try again this year.
Thanks! I've done well with a squarebill crankbait there.
Tough day. Cool kayak rig though!
Thanks!
Thanks for the vid. I have an old town min kota. Love it. I have a stake out pole but it’s cumbersome and noisy. Looks like I’m getting a power pole.
My other kayak is an Old Town, they're a good boat! You'll like the power pole
That was a sweet video man. I really like that intro!
Thanks!
Just watching your standing tactics, I always have difficulty 😅 doing that!
It takes some getting used to that’s for sure!
You have a video about your trailer?
I don’t. I bought that trailer years ago for $100 to haul my 4 wheeler. I just replaced the hubs, tires, added bearing buddies and added submersible lights. The top rack I just added wood 2x4’s to haul a 2nd kayak
LOOKS GREAT but this has to be pushing the weight limit.
I was worried about my weight and all the gear I bring. When I put this kayak together I weighed EVERYTHING, including what was already on the kayak such as seat, pedals, paddle etc.,. With this setup I'm sitting at 235 lbs in gear/equipment. Add my weight and I'm still easily 150 pounds under carrying capacity of 600 lbs for the Hobie Pro Angler 14
Cool setup but I sure miss kayak bass tournament back 8-9yrs ago when nobody had spotlock and fancy electronics. Now it’s about who has the most money put into thier kayak . The average guy can’t even compete with the guys who have over $5k invest into a kayak when he just spotlock and scoped all day
Thanks, I get what you're saying but to be totally honest I very rarely use livescope like you see on the major tournament trails. I am a shallow water angler mostly and I rarely sit in one spot. I have found a few ways to make the livescope work for me that way. I hope to make some more videos this year how I use it shallow. I'd much rather lock a squarebill in my hand all day and just go hunting and thats usually what I end up doing.
How does it work on hard bottoms though? How does the pole dig in?
It won’t dig it but it’ll create enough friction to hold you. One thing to be careful with on rock is it will push your kayak up since it can’t dig in and may be come more unstable. One of the lakes I fish regularly in this video has a lot of boulders and rock and I use it there all the time
I love my power pole, especially on the river. I hadn’t thought about using it as a drag in deeper water will have to try that this year!
I use it on St Clair like that and there’s a stretch on another lake with deep water I use it like that all the time
think if I went the power pole route I'd need two to lock me into pointing in one direction. Do you find anchoring facing up current will spin you around?
I could see where that would help but when I'm on the river I run a anchor wizard off of the bow. That system has worked well for me and honestly I usually just turn around and fish vs. even using the anchor wizard
@@theloonangler yeah, that's what I'm planning while rigging the new yak
are you running a bow mount motor?
@@theloonangler I will have both options
@FishinWithGRAMPS I took a 2nd xi3 quick disconnect and added the anchor wizard so I can add it quick if I don’t want to use my motor
There isn’t a lot I really want to add to my kayak but an anchor pole would be awesome!
I was hesitant with the cost and there are definitely other alternatives but I wish I had gotten it sooner over some other upgrades.
@@theloonangler the cost has been what has held me back but I know I would use it a ton!
I did the same thing a few days ago only had the lure I tied on and lost it a few casts in!
haha ya it sucked but I made it home right when the storms started. Made sure to grab 2 rods the next day!
@@theloonangler that was a rough storm!
Yes it was!
I work from home. I go to the pond in my neighborhood during lunch every now and then. It has big ones in it. 4 to 6 lbs. It was an old farm pond.
I grew up fishing old farm ponds. Can be some giant bass in them!
great job, what kind of cover did you put on your rodholder tube openings where you have the wires going in? I want to do something similar.
Thanks! Its the One Objective Hobie Rod Tube Block Off Plate, link below: www.oneobjectivebf.com/store/p256/hobieaccessorys.html#/
thanks so much for getting back to me. apologies if this is a dumb question, I am not too mechanically inclined but am going to try and do my set up almost exactly the same as yours. What did you use to make the holes in the block off plate and what did you use to protect the wire, it looks like you have something around the wire.@@theloonangler
No worries, ask any questions I'd be glad to help. The wires run through a through hull wiring kit. I used I think a 1" hole (the instructions with the kit tell what size hole to cut) Link to the manufacturer below: (might be able to get cheaper if you shop around) www.yakattack.us/gridloc-through-hull-wiring-kit-pair/
@@theloonangler one more question what diameter wire sheathing did you use for the two different cables you have going through the panel where the rod tube used to be?
Are you talking about the wire loom cover? If so I don’t remember, 1/2” maybe?
What mount are you using to change from forward to perspective?
This one, been using it for years and love it fishobsessed.com/collections/1500-series-transducer-mounts-garmin-livescope-plus-lvs34/products/dominator-livescope-plus-lvs34-adjustable-perspective-mode-mount-with-zero-deg-pkg-for-1-5-poles
What way is ur cable pointing on the transducer when looking forward? On my 32 when looking forward, my cable was to the back. First time out on Sunday my 34 i couldn't find my jig and everything looked backward. I switch my cable to the front, and I started seeing my jig. Juan and I couldn't figure out why. I think it's not right. What's your thoughts or is yours to the front?
I'm not sure what my problem was, the showing the transducer needed adjusted but then later in the afternoon after I switched from perspective back to forward it was working right. I didn't change anything, it was weird
I'm not sure what the problem is with mine. It's frustrating. So far the 34 doesn't seem any different than the old one.
Try bassing with no electronics devices see who the real fisherman are 😊
I’ve done well with and without a helix 5. Won angler of the year twice (not a super competitive trail but still) in the trail I fished and didn’t have any fish finder for a significant portion of the tournaments. But you will not see me being a crybaby about what other people are using.. In fact I’m upgrading significantly this year which will include mega live and two helix units. Fish how you want to..
Same here, won AOY on Indiana's largest lake a few years ago with a paddle kayak and a small Garmin. thanks for the comment and good luck this year!
@@theloonangler thanks! Just come across your Chanel recently. Good luck!
What did you use to cover to rod tubes?
One Objective fishing makes a rod tube delete plate. They work great
Good video! I really need to add at least a rear mounted camera!
Thanks! Rear mounted has always been my favorite view

Thanks for the vedio.
Nice setup. Where did you find the container you using for your terminal tackle. I like the little containers and how you have it separated.
Thanks. Below is a link to the terminal box. Holey moley, looks like a battle ship!
You going out this weekend?
No I’m going to try and hit the boat show
Don’t give up on that lake. Lot of big fish but you got to sort though the small ones. Those 13 inch fish will grow up
That was my first time on it. There’s a series there again this year I may make it over there for.
I started fishing it back in 1970. Wasn’t any houses, water was clear with grass and cattails. Just not the same anymore. I got a 8 pounder out of there about 3 years ago and 7 pounders every year. Best time is spring.
wow thats awesome! I have heard of some big fish coming out of there
