Idc what people say, if anyone makes a video essay saying a piece of evidence "can't be scary", they should not be allowed to review horror games. If you cannot feel immersed enough to be scared by a game, you're probably not gonna enjoy it properly.

Funny enough i raised everyone of my recruits to B then Recruited them. . . its wasnt until the last one where infailed the check only for her to ask to join the next day that I looked it up and found out i wasted my time grinding the skills as i didnt need to

It gets worse when you analyze their components… The midwives are fitted with a device at the base of their skulls. This device overrides almost all signals coming from the brain except for the person’s basic parental instincts. Meaning… these poor women are completely aware of what’s happened to them and they’re powerless to stop it.

I love this game. Getting every combo down packed and learning how to use it all. You can become lethal with just about everyone. Edit... this is the game that made me cut the thumb off of a glove to wear over the dpad for smooth inputs. I know it sounds corny but trust me... eternal champions, Mk 1 2 & 3.. MACE,, Street fighter... i use it for everything on a dpad now.

I’m soo late on this but the intentional messiness and distorting soundtrack Hylics 1 was caused by Gibby’s rule and power over everyone. His power created disclarity and false free will. When Wayne “kills” Gibby, the world became clearer to everyone and order was temporarily restored, this being represented in the new soundtrack.

Low blow on RPGmaker, dude. It's a developer issue, not a tool issue.

There's a lot of games from my childhood that are near and dear to me, and plenty of them are much better than this game. However, no other game sums up the feeling of being a kid for me better than this game does. The loving use of video game tropes, Saturday morning cartoon-styled story, the amazingly fun and creative environments, the amazingly unique characterizations of each ape, and the feeling of pure, childhood innocence permeating everything. It's one of the biggest video gaming throwbacks for me.

So roughly 4 months before Anatomy's release a now infamous house asset was dropped on the Unity Asset Store called HQ Residential House. HQRH has appeared in countless indie horror games to the point of becoming a sort of meme among indie game fans and developers. And I noticed something kind of interesting about Anatomy; the house's layout is eerily similar to that of HQ Residential House. Now I'm not accusing Kitty Horrorshow of being "lazy" or even saying that this was a purposeful choice-- after all the map wasn't even 6 months old yet and wouldn't really achieve infamy until 2017. However looking back on the game today, I can't help but find something poetic in that coincidence. This house has worn so many faces, been the stage of hauntings and murders and house parties alike, but always abandoned and vilified at the end. Just like the house in Anatomy, HQ Residential House is simply tossed away after you finish a game, left to fester in loneliness and anger. HQ Residential House is the story of Anatomy playing out in dozens of indie horror games. I dunno, I have a flair for the dramatic but it was such an odd coincidence that I couldn't help but notice. Regardless though, I adore Kitty Horrorshow's games! She has such an evocative writing style and eye for striking visuals. She's been a big inspiration in my own writing, and I love how she makes gross things into something beautiful. There's a specific line from her game, Lethargy Hill, that kinda lives in my head rent free; "Held by the wings and pulled," it's such a painful and vivid image I can't help but marvel and wince at it. It's been a while since she made any new games, but I really hope she comes back, or at the very least that she is doing well.

"I worry so about my little ones..." The audio design in this game is next level, and the cyborg midwives were probably the creepiest out of all of the enemies. Listening to the audio logs of the nursing staff before they were forcibly altered by Miller is pretty horrific, and that metallic clanking and the deranged electronically distorted utterances they made as they wandered the halls was deeply unsettling.

I managed to recruit Ingrid without trying because I just restarted and started boosting all stats to D, D+ and C to try get as many students as possible. She is the only one who said yes to recruitment so far and I didn't even care about her until she joined my class. Damn. Now I have to start again for a third time because Mercedes and Annette are cinnamon rolls I don't want to slaughter.

I got the scare of my lifetime with this. Playing in the dark at night while a bit sleepy, the damn midwife somehow got behind my back and as i turned around, well.. i think i might have had a micro heart-attack right there as i just went full tilt from a imaginary million volt-shock that i just lay there half slouched off the bench, headset across my face, just huffing and puffing while looking at the ceiling. Thinking ..wow, that just happened..
