7 Ways To Get Less Signups At Your Church
Pretty good stuff. Experience in the Lord, knowledge of Scripture and the Faith goes a long way. And...what about trusting the Lord...trusting the Holy Spirit...trusting yourself to the Lord (rather than trusting yourself)? Also, it's a lot different preaching in an Evangelical church environment than a sacramental one. The former puts a lot more pressure on the preacher who has to preach longer. The latter requires a homily, which traditionally is only 10-20 minutes.
This is the first time I heard someone else who considered it isn't just people. Subscribing just based on that.
It's interesting that no where in this video did it say "preach the word of God" The Bible says come out from the world and be ye seperate. The problem with "churches" today is that many are just Taylor Swift concerts with different words. We are trying all these "strategies" and "promotions" and "events" but did you ever think to look to scripture on how to build a church? The great commission is 3 fold. Baptism, which is the biblical entry into membership of a local new testament church. It has nothing to do with salvation or the holy Spirit. Preaching the gospel. A church needs to be preaching what the Bible actually says and many of these evangelical churches barely use scripture. And lastly, teaching them to observe whatsoever things I have commanded you. Teaching God's people the entire counsel of God. Many churches with smoke machines and electric guitars aren't even biblical churches they are full of maybe sincere people but they aren't being fed the word of God. Many aren't even saved. How do you grow a church. Preach the word. The whole counsel of God and remember it's nothing you do. One plants, one waters...but GOD gives the increase. And he's not going to use a music concert, he's not going to use youth activities he's not going to use a feelings and experience based teaching method He's going to use the word of God period. And the fact that this video doesn't even mention it as one of the 6 points is the EXACT reason God is not in many churches Psalm 138:1-2 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. The word of God is the most important thing. And I challenge you to listen to these evangelical/Pentecostal churches and their sermons and tell me how much scripture is being used.. It's all feelings and emotions and prosperitym there is no preaching against sin, there is no call to holy living and instead of being seperate from the world. They are using the world's methods to grow their numbers. They are confirming to the world instead of being confirmed to Christ.

Even though this was a few years ago, it is now 2025, this helped me as I am the leader of the guest services at our church, and we are thinking about gifts for the new year for our first guest. So thanks a lot. I will pass this on to The finance team that does ordering. 😊
Pentecostal preachers I grew up listening to are the experts at preaching without notes and no slides.
With the Holy Spirit's leading..... Don't go............. Wait for the Promise of the Father.... Disciples were empowered to wait .... something I wish I was taught..............
I have minimal notes but a lot of cross references. I know where I am going and all that, but I do want to get to that point. I’ll get there it is a matter of when
GPT
I think preaching just like anything else is about preference. If you have the ability to memorize information you’ll be the type of person to use minimal notes. If you prefer to read line by line, that’s ok too. There are great preachers and teachers on both sides of the aisle.
Bad idea to do this regularly. Bad idea.
Thanks for all the recommendations - I’m genuinely going check out all of them and give them a try! Really enjoy this series 🤩
Blindness forces you to preach without notes
My personal take. Although eye contact is important, what you are saying (correct doctrine) is more important than whether you are using notes or not. Some of the best ever preachers even read their sermons (i.e Jonathan Edwards).
( Church of the seven thunders). The God of Israel says to you, you are a liar you cannot repent this is what your fate will be. and the devil that decevied them was thrown into the lake of fire where the beast and the false lying preacher will be and they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever ( Rev 20: 10) this is the fate of all those that lied to Gods people.😅
This is really good! I've just started planting our church and you guys very much. This really blessed me as a pioneering Pastor of 10 people sometimes you kinda like feel discouraged when some people don't turn up and only 4 or 5 people. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, Gentlemen!😊
Our pleasure!
Thank you, Pastor!
Wow thank you, Pastor!
Thanks Pastor!
Hi Pastor thank you for this teaching very helpful. And also talking about destruction while preaching is the preacher's attire. Some especially women, this happened in our church. Our church pastor's wife was preaching and was wearing this tight jeans with her top tucked in. To be honest, I could not look at her while preaching because her front, the form of it, is very obvious. By the way, I am a woman, and I am not a lesbian. I am a pastor as well. Just opened our church. She was preaching her heart out, but it just did not get into me. And I just kept my head down while listening.
Thanks Pastor!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and we pray it benefits you!
I am a preacher for 50 years, know the Word of God, people don't study and put the exact readings in the Bible in memory and here is the most important I read with and pray for the Teaching of the HOLY SPIRIT.
Thank you for this information.
Glad it was helpful!
Why would you want to preach without notes, what is the appeal?
Ultimately, it helps you better engage with who you're speaking to. It also often correlates with your level of preparation and how strongly you can speak on the topic. Some notes definitely aren't a bad thing to help you stay on track. The important thing is to find the balance that works for you while continuing to work to rely on them less and less.
People feel more engaged listening to someone 'talking' the sermon to them than 'preaching' down to them
I have preached for fifty years, and always used just a postcard to have the outline, main points, and the Bible references. There is only so much you can fit on a small card!
I enjoyed this! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Great video. I’ve been in pastoral ministry for 25+ years read and heard much on avoiding pastoral burn out, yet you have added so fresh and practical insights. I like this new format. And the end segments. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing! We're working hard to make continue to bring practical and beneficial content that is ultimately helping churches grow His Kingdom
Thanks for all the info, especially the practical preaching vídeo. I actually just started reading Bryan Chapells book. So at this point which outline method have you landed on, since it was mentioned that it was changing.
Glad it was helpful!
I think it depends on HOW you preach. I use many cross references.I go verse by verse line by line. It is more tedious I do think bing thought preaching can do be without notes
Thanks for those thoughts! It definitely can vary depending on your style.
I wish I watched this earlier 😮
Better late than never! Glad you found us and hope we can help you with our other content!
Loved this episode! So many helpful pointers to make my week to week pastoring more sustainable, thank you😊
You are so welcome!

I still don't know what is a bottom line?
I found this video really helpful in deciding whether go online or in-person. Thank you for sharing your experience and perspective.
Glad it was helpful!
How would you handle different translations?
Man! I hate you stopped this podcast new sub!

Nice preaching modules
Glad you like them!
Thank you so much for this series!! It's so refreshingly down to earth and practical, I've found so many great tips and ideas to help improve my own sermon preparation
Thank you so much and very helpful for my sermon, blessing.
I need to power of preaching
Seek His Holy Ghost. The True Spirit of Jesus Christ! God is Alive, Active & working in the world through Anointed & Appointed men. Seek Him with Everything, All the time, He is THE WORD! When God anoints a man there will be results. People will be compelled to seek & follow You as you seek & follow HIM. The anointed preaching of The Word will transform lives. Gods Will will be done through humble, hungry, Obedient, Holy Ghost filled People, that love Him... & love other people.
God bless your efforts Sir.. Thank you for this channel
I 100% agree with you, 5 ways to make your church lobby attractive
The Holy Spirit attracts people and is what will get them to stay. Not the fog machines and flashing lights. Sad that the church is trying to look more like the world to attract people rather than being a light and standing out from the world. If the lights and fog are what is attracting the baby believers then why is the underground church booming in places like China and the Middle East? Our priorities are all wrong 😢
1:40 meet people at their cars with umbrellas when it rains 6:16 don't use a doorstop instead of a person holding the door 9:23 have parkers in your parking lot 12:53 make your connect area obvious (and easily escapable) 19:23 use lanyards for your serve team 22:40 make your coffee area accessible 25:55 keep your space clean 28:38 make giving obvious 31:14 acknowledge new guests every week (in a non-awkward way)
You know this thought just came to me, as this is a channel for "practical church planting". Where does the Lord instruct his disciples to plant churches that mainly focus on a Sunday morning gathering with a sermon? Aren't we called to make disciples and is preaching on a Sunday morning gathering really biblical and is it also an effictive tool to make disciples? When it comes to preaching I only see the Apostles preach the gospel to unbelievers and they would do it always outside the church. What we do in modern churches today is religious entertainment for 2 hours on a Sunday morning, where we have a worship concert followed by a lecture. I think the church our Lord Jesus had in mind looked rather different, and also the first believers gathered in a very different setting on a more daily basis with focus on relationships instead of formal meetings. It took me over 30 years to realize this. I now have left the Sunday morning system, and the Lord is leading me into a much more intimate relationship with him and with other fellow believers that he is placing beside me. I now love the church more than ever. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see what else the Lord has planned for me on this journey, but I can tell already that I don't want to exchange what I have now with the religious Sunday morning system where I was concerned about how to deliver a sermon and to perform a program. I hope and pray that this would be helpful for someone. If that is you and if you're in despair over the present status, give it some serious prayer. Maybe the Lord is calling you to a new chapter on your journey with him. If that's the case you'll be surprised how the Lord will put other believers around you and how the church comes alive. I won't tell you exactely what it looks like for me these days because the Lord might have something totally different in mind for you. And what I want to share is not an other new formula for church planting. But what I can tell you is that we as fellow believers share life together on an almost daily basis, where we encourage each other, pray for each other, celebrate communion, and also minister to people around us.
Very informative and a good sermon outline. I was wondering if you could give me the link to the exact sermon you delivered to see how a complete sermon looks like with this template. Shalom!
You're the best.
Spellcheck.😊
