My Year: 2022 | Cinematic Highlights Film
Apologies this isn't a longer video. I originally edited this for an instagram reel before realising I also wanted a landscape version.
I always love making these types of videos. They're simple edits, but they're also a great exercise in gratitude for being able to meet the people I met and travel to the places I've been.
This was finally the year where travel returned to my life! California, Italy, Amsterdam, the canary islands were all highlights. There have for sure been ups and downs, but it's the 'downs' in particular where I found some great learnings to carry forward with my work.
Hope you all enjoy! Looking forward to seeing what next year brings!

That Spring of 2020 | Cinematic Short Film
Переглядів 3462 роки тому
This is a reupload of a cinematic short film I completed about 2 years ago, off the back of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like everyone, the pandemic dealt me some rough blows - my dad lost his job of 30 years, my Aunt tragically passed away and my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer. These things hit hard, but they hit those around me harder, so my focus was on being a crutch to those around me. Yet I ...
LONDON | Cinematic Short Film | Sony A6600
Переглядів 31 тис.2 роки тому
INSTAGRAM: liamalexvisuals London presented the perfect opportunity for a level-up to my projects. All my videos previously had primarily used nature to underpin the pace of the video. Lush shots of rolling hills or coastlines meant I could take my time with each shot and give it time to breathe, but the big smoke was gonna change all that. Instead of beautiful scenery, you have ...
DREAMLIFE | Cinematic Short Film

This was my first experiment diving into the capabilities of my kit - the Sony, the drone and the lenses to see how far I could push the sharpness, the colours etc. I edited this video in response to the first COVID lockdown in March 2020. Inevitably it brought the worst out for some people - more domestic abuse and mental health took an absolute hammering. With the footage I'd shot I wanted to...
Shifting Gears - Finding the perfect beginner Film-making kit
Переглядів 1852 роки тому
This is a project I filmed back in the summer of 2020. I wanted to make the most of the lockdown here in the UK and knew that if I was going to produce the kind of shots and style that I craved, selection of the right level of gear would be absolutely crucial. After a lot of months of research, this was how I pulled together the PERFECT set of gear for my journey into film-making. Gear (as show...
REWRITING THE STORY: My journey into film-making
Переглядів 1223 роки тому
Making the U-turn from Maths to Film was arguably the biggest (and 100% the most insane) decision that I’ve made. I used to wake up every morning with pits of anxiety, wondering how someone with zero experience in video production could make it in arguably one of the most competitive industries out there. My identity had always been built around that of being academic and following the sciences...
My Year 2020 - GOPRO HERO 9 Travel
Переглядів 3333 роки тому
This is the culmination of everything that happened during my travels. 11 months, 9 countries, 3 continents. I learned a lot about myself on this trip and even more about what I wanted to become. This video was my gateway into the world of amateur film-making and I loved every second of it...well almost every second. Anyway, enjoy and stay tuned for more content coming soon!
Amazing
Handsome! starting today you have a new member! ...and how are my videos? do you have any advice for me?

Fantastic! Well done.

Woow! Superb I have made a London video as well! Seeing this I realize mine was just trash 🤣
this is so, so cool. world-class editing aside, these shots are absolutely incredible. Not a single miss on artistic or technical quality. wow
This editing is brilliant well done buddy 👍
Lens used?
That’s really really amazing 😍😍
how did you get those aerial view footages with sony a6600?
The aerial shots were filmed on a Mavic Air 2
Hey man, amazing video...really until now i thought best one is from JR ALI...but sequence in your video from 2:30 is just mindblowing...how you made those timelapses while moving? Was it with gimbal and just slow walking? :) Follow and like are yours :)
Thanks so much Peter! There were different types of hyperlapses within this sequence. Some of them were 'classic' hyperlapses that i constructed by taking pictures and moving. The others were done on a gimbal as you said with slow walking. The first hyperlapse at 2.30 is actually a a long-exposure hyperlapse so that required a tripod to take each picture so that the camera was completely still. Hope this helps!
@@Liam_Alexander that had to take a lot of time, moving with the tripod and still picture each time...gosh....i was particulary interested in timelapse at 2:56...but i see blur there too so probably also on tripod....can you tell me one that was made by gimball and slow walking? Thanks man really appreciate your help...:)
@@Pietttro78 Yes, It definitely took a lot of time haha. And yeah at 2.56 those are all slow walking gimbal hyperlapses with force motion blur added to render in motion blur.
Thanks for all the amazing comments guys! I never thought this video would do as well as it did but I’m so glad it’s helped serve as some inspiration for a few of you! ❤ If any of you are interested in seeing more regular content from myself then please check out my Instagram where I post more recent content such as reels and possibly a few tutorials in the future: instagram.com/liamalexvisuals?igshid=MmIzYWVlNDQ5Yg==
