Weekend projects... A 1926 Ford Model T "Depot Hack" and a 57 Chevy Bel air golf cart.
Whope whope license and registration and insurance. Call me a tow.
That’s chitty chitty bang bang right there tell me I’m wrong
Definition of fun
You know, I always loved exotic cars like McClaren, etc.. But something about a tiny old engine and car is so soothing and awesome
Great project! I’ll be following along!
alright, now turbo v8 swap it 😂😂lol anyway, that's awesome i'd love even just to watch someone operate it.
good work
Update... Transmission is going to Steve's Antique Auto Repair in Muskegon Mi.
I'll be a Son of a Gun... I liked this vid a loooooooong time ago... and here it is again...
I know it’s an old video, but was it just underpowered or tail heavy?
are you still flying a raiden?
I have not flown it in awhile now... Hanging on the wall in my shop. Winter is still here in Michigan but spring is trying to make an appearance.
I'll be interested in the flight video. My previous CEO owned / flew a BD5J. He would love this.
You video was made vertical, if you flip your cell. You can fit the youtube format. I will keep Following this project
Very cool. very satisfing to build then fly somthing. I subded to your channerl . please check out mine. Thanks for sharing. I liked the spektrum videos also.
HOLY HELL! anybody can just buy these things?! and theyre cheap!?
That's stupid
Hi Mudman, how you do the mechanism to rudder? It has two surfaces, correct? Thanks a lot, João Efrem
Where you buy this?
It's not bought.... I built it. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2220451-The-N9M-B-Kraken-Update-11-17
Nearly four years after you posted this, I just wanted to let you know some people are still making good use of this instructional. Thank you!
didn't learn anything
why not try i dont know showing us your mix settings so we can match them
Well the first flight was sort of successful... It did fly until I poured it on... Then the torque took over facebook.com/dave.walter.31/videos/vb.100000334843456/1964468986907577/?type=3
isnt 80 A way too much for this motor?
what do recommend setting the low voltage alarm at for the Lith-ion pack on my DX6? Also what happens when and if I get a low voltage alarm in mid flight?
6.2 Volts is the low battery setting... If... and that is if you get a warning get the model on the ground. So far I have never got a warning... I flew a four day Fly in and got in around 50 to 60 flights and never reached the warning. Always charge it before you go to fly and you should never have a problem. I am still using the same battery since this video was made with no issues. Well worth the money!
...I have my LVA set at 6.8.......but I have noticed in other videos that the Tx screen seems to go blank when the low voltage set point is reached...so I was just wondering what exactly happens , if the alarm occurs in mid flight.....
What became of this project?
you have just to much fun! dam it!
I hate to give you bad news but what you are dealing with is sympathetic vibration that happen under certain amount of torque.. you need to be able to mount a ball bearing at the center of the shaft.. or change the shaft all alone! I did went under the same problem and solve it using a carbon fiber shaft... you also need to bring that propeller closet to that bearing
Did you spraypaint it or put tapes?
Did you where using your goggles?? because that is a very steady hand for LOS>>>>>
looks great
looks great, I'll be building one soon.👍
slick
Did you manage to fly it?
p38pilotdk01 Not yet... Having issues with the motors and extension shafts... It patiently hangs in my shed until I get it figured out.
I can't wait to see that in the ParaCuda!
Nice Cuda clone, +mudman1959. That's cool you got Laine to fly it.
Hey Mudman, are you running the sunnysky 2204-28 motor? What size prop are you running on yours?
+John Russcher Its a 1400 Kva motor... not sure of the brand turning a GWS 8x4 prop
+John Russcher Ok I went out and looked at the motor closer... It is a Sunny Sky X2204-28 KV: 1480
what is making the top break move? Can't see how you did it and very interested in how you did it.
+Ron DuBray It was the way it was taped, when the bottom extended it pulled on the tape for the top... It worked but the top was able to be pushed down easily with little to no force. I ended up running another control rod off of the servo arm to the top surface and it now will stay in place when pressure is applied. They work but I think I need to readjust the angle of the servo arm so that they will open wider. Thanks for looking! Mudman1959
Thanks for the response.
Nice work! Love the LED's.
They were slowing down considerably... At about 3:20 into the video it wanted to keep going right until I yanked it hard to the right. They were defiantly struggling at the end that's why the landing was more a thump than a flair
what happened with your servos? I just tried my first winter flight with my bixler and the servos weren't working and made me crash
I am hoping to finish our FT Explorer this weekend.
nice maiden....wish I could see the plane better.
nice
nice
Go to RC Groups using this link... www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2362572#post30972426 to see the mix setup on the transmitter.
What size lipo are you useing?
That's genius!
Bill.... I decided not to do the flaps for now. Maybe later if they are really needed. As for the motor shafts I have started working on them and will post a short video of them when I get them closer to working condition. Waiting on a 4mm hardened shaft to arrive that I ordered. I have the bearings and the tubes to hold them and a friend from work cut the spacers for me on his CNC. Another friend is going to mill me two shaft couplers to couple the motor to the prop shaft so it has been slow going. I also post to RC Groups under Mudman1959... Thanks for watching!
Looks real nice. This got me thinking as I had planned to scratch build a N9M1.. Will you also be adding flaps? Have you figured out the motor/shaft issues?
Pointless
mat eschbach I second that lol
What makes it useless? It eliminates the spark right? Am I missing something else?
