Toyota Celica Led Sequential Lights
hey man, know of any place where I could find just the glass?
Do you happen to know the diameter of the upper and lower light sections? Looking to add halos instead and wanted to see what different sizes this uses.
I made 7sets after your clip. Thank you 🫡
I wouldn’t advise doing this , for multiple reasons, if the lights are weathered the inner plastics will be brittle , first casualty is getting lense off without damage , that’s hard , then the big lense is likely to snap . To paint is not easy lots off over spray so getting a decent finish is very hard. Sealing the lenses then looks abit tacky when finished -and are likely to full off when the car is above 100 ….. don’t do this if it’s your only set of lights you are likely to break them in the process!
What size halos?
How much to do this to mine please?
I’m no longer making these to sell. It’s fairly easy to do this mod yourself which is why I decided to do a step by step guide
What did you stick them on, is it a clip?
The strips have adhesive on one side.
Awesome video, def gonna help me out. I had a question about the LED strips. I know they're able to be cut but are there soldering posts to extend the length of the LED? I couldn't tell.
Technically you can extend I believe if you soldered the same type of strip together. There will be copper contacts to solder onto
@@garyl5355 thanks! Appreciate it. Hope to see more videos!
How do you heat them up to put them back together with the butyl glue? They doesn’t fit in the oven as they’re huge. I was looking at videos of a cardboard oven, but even to get a large enough cardboard box will be a challenge. So how do you put them back together?
Just use a heat gun, the same way as I took them apart
@@garyl5355 Aw, okay. Because I took them apart based on your video and it worked well, so if I can put back together in the same way, then it’s great 👍🏻 Thanks Gary
What diameter is the halo?
70mm I believe from memory
How did get that cover for the blinker?
Great videos, very helpful. I do wonder why you opted to paint the top of the inserts instead of the undersides though, if you did the undersides then you could have had the black color show through the clear plastic and still retain the fluted surface and clean gloss of the top side. It would look more factory oem that way. They came out really nice though.
Yeah I wanted a solid look to mine, personal preference though and both ways looks good. Pleased the videos have helped you 😊
@@garyl5355 They have, I hope you will continue to post Celica vids.
Where do I get the control unit that you used?
Which control unit?
@@garyl5355 for the angel eyes I’ve been looking but can’t find any that has the rgb control unit like you had in this video
@@garyl5355 and on the wiring did you just splice everything into the plugs?
@@brycenichols1288 the halos are not RGB. You need to search for demon eyes
@@brycenichols1288 the wiring is connected to the battery via a relay. Apart from the signals which are spliced into the original wires
could you provide links to the exact products you used? thank you
Hey, if you just look on Amazon or UA-cam as they change all the time so can’t provide the original links
Consider making any to sell?

Hi bud,i picked up one of these as a side project...do you know if the 3 nuts used to fix the rear tail lights back onto the car are oem?? or what size are they?? it seems we are missing all of them haha...just trying to track down a few but not sure if they are a bog standard or oem jobby..thanks
Hey, I’m sure you’d be able to use a big standard but/washer to hold them on. I don’t have the exact size to hand though
@@garyl5355 Thanks a million...I'll grab a few online and see how I go..I thought a bog standard one would do also, but sometimes these manufactures can be awkward lol
how long do i leave it in the oven and at what temp ?
I’d watch the video first, you may be surprised
Took me about 6 hours to open the 2 of them. You've clearly done these before
Haha yeah done a few of these so fairly quick but taking your time prevents damages
Dont try this at home , easily van destroy and crack shades, best and safe is to cut em , if u want to see how u can priv me
I’ve done more than 20 sets and never cracked or destroyed any 👍🏻
Hey I would be interested in buying some if you are selling them?
Hi, sorry due to changes in circumstances I’ve not got the time to make these at the moment

diameter of LED rings?
They are 70mm
All of it looks awesome but I'm scared I'll fork it up 😐 or buy something from wrong websites and it won't just work as it should.
Give it a try not much can go wrong, just take your time when opening them up 😀
@@garyl5355 allright then, I'm just scared I don't have the tools to turn them on like you do without connecting them to the car. Do you have any links with leds or everything I need to buy or anything I'll but will work fine?
@@danielkowalski1432 a 9v battery would be fine to test them before fitting. I don’t have links to the led strips as they change all the time. Just search for sequential led strips on eBay/Amazon and make sure they are red and amber.

These are just stock lights.
awesome! how did you turn off the DRL and the auto on feature on the celica so you can use the demon eyes? Also, do the angel eyes replace the low beams or where did you connect them to? Thanks
The angel eyes were connected to a separate circuit, you can get a remove 12v switch which works well. Angel eyes just connect to a DRL relay. In the UK celica’s didn’t come with DRL but if you are in the US then you could wire into the low beams
@@garyl5355 Thanks!. the demon eyes are not visible if the DRL are on right?
Yeah that’s right, more for show when the lights are off as they would not be legal on roads
Hi ya, awesome video, love it!!! Do you have a link for the demon eye strips and the led strips? Thanks 🙂
Thanks, there are lots of options on Amazon and eBay for the strips and demon eyes. These change a lot depending on availability, the strips are switchback leds strips 60cm and just search for demon eyes and you should get a hit
@@garyl5355 Brilliant, thank you very much 🙂

Hi, I’m currently not building any at the moment due to other projects
24:58. Did that indicator light cover come with the headlight? Mine didn't come with one. Any idea where to get one? 🙏
Yes it’s just a clear cover which I then tinted. Maybe try breakers yard to get one
@@garyl5355 also at 11:37...did you use anything to hold down the halo light? If you didn't, any suggestions if the light still moves? Thanks 🙏
Hi halos are held in with a bit of silicone or you could use hot glue

Cheers and the previous 13 mins showing how to strip down and remove :)
GSL Mods the satisfaction of it finally come off and that glue melt was too good
do you use a laquer or something on the spray paint?
Yes, a few coats of tint then a couple of coats of lacquer
What is the diameter of the glass projector at 13:40? I
Hi, I’m not sure if the diameter. The angel eyes I got were a strip which wrapped around
GSL Mods Thanks! I wondered if I could put etched lenses in thats all
Just measures and outside diameter is 70mm (including the metal housing)
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for these videos. 🙏 In the process of doing this to my tail lights as well. 2 questions..I was wondering, what LED strips are you using? And wha butyl sealant did you use...tube, tape or just regular clear silicone? Much appreciation! 🙏
Hey, appreciate the feedback 👍🏻 For the tail light I use a 45cm switchback led strip which is amber and red. For the fronts I use a 60cm amber and white switchback. You can get these on eBay or amazon. To seal the tail lights I use a clear silicone from tube and the fronts are sealed with butyl tape/strip I get this from amazon
I decided to open them in the end mate, bloody tough job still trying to prize it open. I’ve purchased some of that butyl rubber sealant... do I just use that mate or black silicone aswell?
Yeah they are not the easiest to open but slow and careful is the best way. Just the butyl, I always scrape out all the old stuff from the housing and off the lens before putting new in. This way you get a perfect seal
Prob sounds like a stupid question, but have you got a video for when you put the headlight back together? So re seal so to speak? Thanks
Hi, I don’t think I have one of the headlight reassemble, it’s basically a reverse of taking apart. I run a strip of the butyl glue around the channel on the light, push the lens back in place and then heat gently while pushing the lens in and ensuring all the clips are engaged.
Hey bud can you provide your email I'm looking to do these mods on my celica and it be awesome if i can reach out to you.

Khalid Hassan Hi, unfortunately at the moment I’m not in the position to be able to do these with other commitments. It’s not difficult to do though, don’t underestimate yourself
@@garyl5355 haha we'll see have you done any other mods?
other than the ones in your channel
Hi mate this is fab. Do you mind showing me or us how to reseal the rear lights? I can’t see that anywhere.
Thanks, to reseal I use clear silicone, just run it around where the original glue was and then once the lens is back on and in place I use electricians tape to hold it in place for 24hrs.
Star... could I use this clear silicone and leave it off for maybe 24 hours and then fit back without the need for tape? If that makes sense. I have a condensation issue with the rears so I don’t want to open them and modify I just want to seal them maybe again to sort the condensation out. Unless you have some advice for the condensation?
Hi, the silicone acts like glue so when you put it back together you would have to tape to hold it all in place
I’d suspect that your condensation issue may be from the foam pad at the back of the light is either damaged or not sealed correctly. I’d check those first
Sorry mate where’s the foam pad? Can I replace it with some other kind of foam (ebay replacement or something?)
Hey do you have a link to the led lights and anything else you bought?
Blake Hockey I’ll fire you over some examples on Facebook
Dude this is amazinggggg!
Thank you! It’s not hard to do but VERY time consuming 😀
This is great! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the positive comment 😀
Love the videos bro. Thank you so much. Just a thought though, is there no way to keep the indicator bulb flashing whilst installing the LED? I'm thinking more for MOT purposes.I know you could obviously just take the bulb out but would be ideal if there was a way to get the blinking back.
Yes once installed back in the car the indicator bulb flashes normally. On the video it’s hooked up to a constant 12v source so remains on
What led strips did you use?
Bryan Carpenter they are led sequential strips. These are the ones that go yellow to red. Should be available from amazon
Great video. Very informative. Would be great if you could do a video showing us how to put the LED strips in and wire it up!
Stuart De-lube thanks, I just wanted to get this one done as I the set I am doing at the moment I’d already opened and painted. When I add the LED strip I’ll show that in the next video
