MLE - Feature Film
Julie Robert is an actor ... No, not that one!
When her dream role falls through she's on the verge of giving up when a mysterious couple hire her to spy on their daughter.
What seems like a perfect acting opportunity turns sinister when she discovers a dangerous secret.
A deftly plotted comedy thriller from a refreshing new talent, MLE premiered at the BFI Southbank in January 2015, as part of the official selection of the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival, where the screening was sold out and won the Special Commendation Discovery Award.
MLE also won an Excellence Award at the RINCON International Film Festival, as well as Best Actress, Best Produced Screenplay & Best Feature at the AOF in LA, continuing its international run at over 8 festivals before its theatrical run.
MLE was the only female directed comedy to open theatrically in the UK in its year, and went on to play on Curzon Home Cinema.
"MLE works where other comedies don't, because the lead character is so likable ... In the style of a Lena Dunham comedy, but funnier." - (Neil White, EveryFilm)

All you're really doing to these teenagers and young adults is exploiting them!

As a troubled youth who has now recovered, knowing how bad the system is currently - my dream would be to have large properties in every state that have tiny homes for homeless youth to recover in safety, feel loved not hated on or punished for choices made. A learning center to help integrate the kids into living and working cooking, gardening, crafting, etc. Teach them self-care and how to love themselves. Reconnect to Source (God) energy in their own way. People who love themselves don't harm themselves. I hope we can build a world that doesn't discount it's children. This documentary was so honest. Thank you!
Beautiful message. Thank you for watching.
I cried watching this. I see so much of myself in these kids. I was on the street from age 16 to 23. Even being a homeless pregnant kid. The harsh realities and the neglect is real. And I feel for every single person having to deal with any of this.
I know two young women who lived in Goldengate Park for three to four months. They slept under the bushes, with an alarm clock between them. They got up every day and went to work. Together, they saved up enough to get a room, where they lived for several months. Eventually, they were both able to get decent apartments. It's not easy, but it can be done.
Back in 1978 I was one of these kids
Very awesome majors 58 year old man cry .
Thank you for watching.
I wish that this kids would know the say if i knew then what i know now Its supposed to be you out grow it not you die
Ill tell you man being homeless is the hardest thing i had to do. Omfg damn it man it took everything for me to stay alive to eat to sleep safely to be alive and not get killed or robbed! I had alot of pride and coudlnt beg so i always had a willwork sitn and most times i got robbed for my work i did( i wasnt Master craftsman either) so i did alot of manual labor for dirt cheap. If i would get payed at all. They would call the cops on me and say i was breaking into their yard trying to steal something and me being homeless the cops took the house owners side. 😂 Damn man i got clean and sboer got a life beyond what i could imagine now thank the helpful people who helped me along the way.
Some are mentally ill some are drug addicts some just dont care irs not like tehy all want to be homeless! I met so many dicfrent people from everywhere all walks of life, engineers lawyers drs for god daake homeless! Maybe cause of parents, drugs, mental illness, wifes and divorces, maybe cauase of where they lived,or just coulldnt afford to keep up on bills due to some injury at work who knows. My point is font judge people off the fact rhey are homeless we are human beings too! We want to be treated the same as you do. We want t o be wanted and loved and resapected. We want to live a normal live like you do. Yiu dont know their story so dont judge them off rip and call them bums or lazy its not that easy!
So if 2 people walk into a job interview 1 homeless person, has no address to put down, stinks cause they don't have a steady place to shower or wash their clothes, and was seen begging outside before. And the other person is a normal person drives to the place, looks normal smells clean and wasn't seen begging for food earlier...who you picking for a job? Most people wont give the homeless a chance. I was the homeless person before and tried many times to be turned away at the door. So it's not a choice of being lazy not wanting to work. I had made signs saying I was "willing to work". And that helped me get off jobs but most times I was robbed blind by the people who I helped. But 1 lady god bless her she helped me so damn much I will never forget her hospitality she showed me...her husband worked on fallout vault 76 in Fredrick Maryland they moved since than but I will never forget her helping me so much god bless her so much!
God bless you Michael ❤
Great movie, Samantha Hanratty is great in everything she does!
Thank you for what you did for them 🤙 . You have no idea what that meant to me !
Thanks for watching!
“I like it here, I just might stay" I love her soothing voice ❤
these kids don't want to be helped!!!!!
My heart goes out to these kids. Very good documentary.❤
Thank you for watching!!!
wish our government treated our kids like migrants
I truly have to say that you are a HELL OF A PERSON for being a person that actually CARED AND NEVER GAVE UP 👆 ON THEM...I really think that MENTORING PROGRAM is a BIG WINNER 🥇, your absolutely right about people NEED FAMILY. God bless you sir and GODBLESS ANYONE READING THIS. Everyone have a GREAT DAY.
Hopefully all those kids that are missing a found,,😢love the documentary,,you told it like it is
This was amazing. thank you
❤❤
One of the best documentaries ever🎬 You care só much! Please America, help these kids😢
❤❤
It's bad enough that the president and the vice president of the United States would allow kids to live on the street instead of trying to educate them and help you're more interested in leaving the cocaine in the kitchen table and blaming the CIA
😂😂😂
Wtf happened to Kiki 😔😢
She's OK and doing well
I wonder where these kids are today!?…
One of the best documentaries I've ever watched in my life And I'm 60 years old....
Thank you so much. I appreciate you watching
You made this film so slick it looks like a commercial PROMOTING living on the street, as if its cool. Come on son!
The guy being interviewed at the beginning is clearly ignorant and clueless. I'm sure he has a cozy house to live in. 😏 Rude
My dad kicked me out at 14 and im 52 now but i got lucky. I had friends and their parents that looked out for me. I use to couch surf or id sleep on the streets.
I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm grateful you pulled through, you didn't deserve that as a teen
Michael is doing a great job- such a selfless young man who is going beyond and above to bring succour to these people. As for the transitional or rehab centres they will function better if there was some of connection with the participants, making them feeling loved and giving them a self of being valued. I guess these centres function with a dispassionate , impersonal and clinical approach. For any lasting transformational change, believing on the Lord Jesus will sure make this certain
Appreciate your support. Thank you for watching.
Your such a nice person but come on boundaries your just gony be used left right n centre I pray you grow up couldn't watch anymore your playing a game life isn't a GAME...
Every kid he's running across is having sexual abuse issues shortly after.....
Bro.... you're a fucking legend.
Ha. We are all in this together. Thanks for watching.
ye
This country doesn't give a damn about kids, yet they pretend to be Christian, this country is hostile, divided and ruthless. It's all about money, damn shame 😔
❤❤❤❤There's rehabilitation for people and rehabilitation for animals I bet if there were kids who need and want to be a part of someone, something , or needed, because to know and understand the situations in others like themselves there's no digre required for what you live and experience, these young adults have Soo much talent they don't realize it,❤❤❤ what there going through and have gone through is what's needed in these places, they ARE the voice, and it's a guaranteed career.
Thanks for this. From a former street kid living the best life I can. Indoors and sober
Proud of you.
Thank you for watching!
Its sad most girls who are of color always go missing, abused and end up dead! Prayers go out to the missing 🙏 girls in our country!
I was one of those kids. Still affects me.Thank God for people like Michael💯☝️❤️🙏🫂God Bless us all.🙏🫂🫂🫂🫂
Fkn loved this
He voice sounds good
❤
I grew up in homeless shelters as a child and then transitioned to public housing with my single mother of 6 kids. I then was homeless again at 18 and it was fun for about 2 weeks. I ended up on and off the streets for about 5 years and ended up having a child. We were homeless for a while and now I’m housed and have a heart for homeless youth. I believe if you can get to them before it’s too late you can steer them in the right direction and prevent more trauma. I wish I had someone to help me when I was a homeless youth. That all I wanted. A family and someone who was willing to stick around and not abandon me when things get hard. I’m still holding on to the dream of someday working with homeless youth.
