Well, we are willing to provide more guidance and help if you want us to do the installation for you. It would be useful if you shared some pictures of the location of what you are considering.
Hi, what is thr approx cost of installation for this. Also, I don't like how the air con box is on the front, I have the same similar layout, I know you said the customer wanted this but what would you have recommended?
Hello. There was an option to install this unit on the side of the house and on the rear and to run the pipes through the loft. To find out more about the cost, contact us via our website and send us a request for price. Also, if you could provide some pictures, that would help to give a much more accurate price.
@@electrumelectrical thanks, that makes more sense. We have a 3 bedroom semi detached, so the side of the house is available, but the air con would need to be mounted high as its a shared driveway between the other neighbour, but it would be easier to run the pipes to the ceiling, loft and then to the outside. I will differently have a look on the website with pictures. Thanks
What a monstrosity on the side of your house ....an eyesore...
Thank you for your comment. Decision wasn’t the installers decision is customers.

Is there any planning permission considerations if I want to install multi-split AC now and air sourced heat pump for hot water and radiators in the future? I read they permit one heat pump unit outside as long as it can heat the house. So this means AC unit doesn’t need planning permission but future ASHP will need planning permission, correct?
According to my experience and knowledge, no planning permission is required to install a Split air conditioning unit. Still, there are some guidelines that the installer must consider. If you want to install a heat pump in the future, There might or might not be a need for planning permission. The best is to contact the local planning authority. I would advise you not to consider what the installer tells you unless he can provide written proof from the local planning authority.
fucking hell that isolator... brits have the dumbest regs
Not the best idea to install unit above a tv that drain blocks up that tv is blowing upn
Amazing and honest video. Thank you
8 años utilizándolo, eso dice mucho de una herramienta
Jesus this is good
Menards is deleting this line from their store, everything toughbuilt is on sale or clearance right now for anyone interested in getting into the system.
Sorry to jump on, but quite a few people have commented on the location of the outdoor unit, permitted development doesn't cover air con units that heat and cool!!! I know its strange a heat pump (heat only) must be situated 1m from the boundary and if facing a highway should be at ground level. Its easy to check on the planning portal.
great channel and install, which ac unit is the best quality, Mitsubishi electric, Fujitsu general or Mitsubishi heavy industries?
Very nice video , I always use the unit installation manual
That’s amazing, this is the way!
In new Mexico USA you need permits for all new trade work period !
In UK you need permits as well, but not always, if we were to install in flats or in central London, we’d need permits. For this job since it was not bothering any neighbours we didn’t need any permits. Thank you very much for your comment!
Very good advice year-olds calculation
Thank you so much.

What did you charge?
The cost of full Rewire and air con installation was £15,000 and that was with the discount because our customer gave us more work. Thank you for your question.
Amazing job done!
Toughbelt has some great stuff and for great prices too. I don’t understand why mendards, lowes and Home Depot do not carry the full line of all their products.
From what I've heard, they're phasing out the pouch production and moving to being a copycat Milwaukee pack out maker 😒
Where bought that!!!!???
Toughbelt is the Brand. Menards has some great deals right now on them online. It’s in the States but might shit over seas. They have it all on clearance.
Looks horrible on the front of house. Really doesn’t suit the British housing aesthetic but I guess it’s the customer’s choice. My guess the customer isn’t British as there’s no way a native Brit would stand for that box on the front of the house! Nice work though.
It’s true, you are spot on they did not care. We asked and they said they did not care, we even asked twice and they were sure of it. The customer wanted to minimise the costs of pipe and trunking. Thanks for your comment.
Good advice on what thing you need to think about
Well, happy to know that this advice is helpful to you
The only issue i have with F-Gas, why do you need it for Butane GAS.
Sorry I can’t answer your question, if you could clarify a bit hopefully I can answer. Thanks.
You don't, butane(r600) is a hydro carbon so not covered under the f gas regs
This is a heat pump and the same time air-conditioning. I’m sorry for not making this clear in my explanation.
Super volg…. Hope the client is blind with that ugly box bolted to the front 😂
Thanks for your feedback. The design was chosen by the client, so we had to respect their wishes. I appreciate your understanding!
Wow. This is the second home I’ve seen with the outdoor units stuck on the front. The other one was a heat pump. I don’t know why home owners do this. It’s an eye sore. Not this chaps fault he works for the customer.
I agree. Please don't bolt these onto the front of your house like this. Certainly not at high level anyway.
I understand your perspective, but this decision was made by the customer. As they say, don't shoot the messenger.
@@electrumelectrical I understand. My message was directed at the customer really. I know you just do what the customer asks, within reason! 👍
Great job on the video, great explanations, you explained lots of good points that I didn’t know about, looks like you do a very professional job as well, I think it shouldn’t be on front of house though, maybe you should refuse these installs if asked by customers as, it may not bother the customer but others living on the street might be very happy about the look of this fan, keep up the great content👌🏼✨💚🙏
@@nascorob thank you so much for your encouragement. I appreciate that this particular video was useful to you in the seven points. This install which we did in the front of the house was very urgent for the customer. But Yess will be good idea to spend a bit more time with a customer to advise to install a bit more hidden place.
For someone with a low subscriber number, you did this video very well 👍
Thank you for your comment much appreciated. I hope I can do better than that even in subscribers in the future.
Why not a heat pump?
They are heat pumps, sorry for not making that clear in the video. Thank you.
Can you fit one in my house?
Yes, it will be our pleasure to install One in your house. You can contact us on our Webside.
Engelbert Strauß 👍
good job! it would be better if third indoor unit was not above the head of bed.
Thank you for appreciating our work! Regarding the placement of the indoor unit above the head of the bed, I understand your concerns. I used to feel the same way before I started doing these installations. However, I've learned through experience that this position is actually optimal. The unit is designed to blow air in a way that it doesn't directly hit those sleeping in the bed, ensuring a comfortable and effective airflow throughout the room.
Why does his belt look brand new. My belt usually looks like my face after a day of working with it.
Why would a professional installer use channel locs on a machine fitting?
Thank you so much for your question. Can you please make more clear question? I don’t understand water channel looks you mean? My apology for that I’m just being sincere. Many thanks looking forward to hearing from you.
@@electrumelectrical channel locs are a brand name for a slip joint plier. It's normally used to grab a pipe to turn. On a machined fitting one uses a crescent or fitted wrench. Nor mars, marks or gouges as the channel locs would leave. If you notice the installer is using a crescent wrench on the opposed fitting. Plumbers often use pipe wrenches to tighten or loosen pipes and connective fittings. Even channel locs, but a machined fitting allows a proper wrench with both unnecessary marks left.
Much appreciated, i’m learning from every comment. These tools I always have been using but aiming to improve. Nice observation, many thanks, Vasile.
@@electrumelectrical when we were kids working on our bikes, etc we would use whatever we could find to make due. A pair of any kind of pliers would somehow work to tighten up a chain, a seat, adjust the handlebars or remove a wheel. At the expense of gnawing on the nut of course. Dad being a mechanic taught me these kinda things so I learned early from trial and error. Another common mistep was the incorrect screwdriver size. Live and learn lol. Glad to point out...😉👍
The customer is building a shed on the side, so he requested to install it in the back and we considered as long as we can service and we are within safe area then all is good. Yes, they are many times certainly limitations and these particular one is one of them. Thank you for your comment and pointing this out. Electrum electrical team
does the location of outdoor unit comply with building regs, seems close to fence, thought it had to be 1m
Nice video. Do you guys install Ameristar? I recently had one installed. Very basic settings but efficient and heats/cools the house nicely
We appreciate that you like our video unfortunately we are not installing Ameristar air conditioning. I haven’t heard about this make if you can give me more details and what are the prices. And you know these days they have to be proven as reliable even though it might work well. And also to be able to offer five year warranty parts and labour.
@@electrumelectrical Ameristar, made by Trane. I'm unsure of the price but I have a 18000 btu rated for -35(Canada) and I paid $3700 parts + labour
Thank you for all this information, but we are in United Kingdom. I just checked online and I didn’t see any one selling. But I believe the main thing that you are satisfied.
Clicked because of that epic drill. Dust collection system is nice!
Yes, this is amazing Tool it’s a bit of investment, but there’s no dust. Also requires good vacuum extraction. And I found Metabo one of the best.
You've installed a lot of brands on your channel. Which brand do you like working with the most?
Thank you for your question Sincerely is difficult for me to say what brand I prefer. Mostly I am focusing on Mitsubishi but the customers sometimes desire Daikin or Fujitsu. The last one I installed Fujitsu. I was impressed of the boost system which has an automatic control of airflow. It felt better. But I need to ask my customers one by one to let me know how they find it out. But genuinely, I would go for Mitsubishi and Fujitsu. Daikin comes always more expensive. Hope my answer was helpful
Getting this !
😂😂😂 I’ll stay with my occidental leather tool belt and bags. You won’t see real tradesman run this junk
Only a beta cares what ppl r wearing on site. Production pays not how u look or how u feel about others on site. Fuqing pathetic
American? Lots of American tradesmen seem rife with insecurities and worrying about only using tools and equipment that the herd uses.
