How did you get the engraving on the black removable vinyl?
Hi mate sorry for comenting on an old video, but I wanted to ask this. When you use the velcro/command strips to attach the wood to the chair, does it dampen the vibrations at all? I thought maybe it would since its like a little cushion. I am looking at the similar setup and would love to know your experience!
Hi would you be able to make one of this for me?
I am doing the same kind of project but will go with 2 or 3 ply black on white abs and a small CNC machine to etch down to white (about 1 m). Then I get a panel and the graphics in one piece with no fiddling with individual vinyl letters. That’s’ the theory, I’ll let you know.
Awesome :)
You are creating nice and clean panels. Definitely better looking then my DIY panels. However, I'd still recommend to look into designing your own PCBs and solder switches, LEDS and Arduino onto the PCB, avoiding a lot of cables, and getting a much thinner box. I mean, one large custom PCB, connecting everything, instead of many small PCBs, that need cables to connect to each other.
Excellent job. I am planning to do a simple panel with toggle switches for lights system. Wish me good luck lol
Hello! I'm 15, and for a school project, wanna make something like this. Could I get in touch with you for more guidance because this video is kinda too fast for me?
so cool, i would love to use a lot of switches panels to fly p51 mustang in dcs.
Fixed! (I hope- haven't tested exhaustively). Needed to copy the events.txt file from within FSUIPC7 to Community -> mobiflight-event-module->modules. AWESOME! Can finally use my encoders to control those dang knobs. Thanks for this guide Jno!
Hey Jno! Thanks for this great guide. Unfortunately i'm having trouble getting it to work with FSUIPC7.4.12 and Mobiflight 10.1 on the latest MSFS. Any help appreciated! So: I just want to control the GPS430, 530, 1000, and 3000 knobs with custom freejoy based controls I have built (basically i made my own Octavi knockoff). FSUIPC7 loads, sees the sim, I see the MobiEvents listed, but when I assign one to a button, it doesn't turn the knob in the sim. I've tried both just copying the mobievents module to the commuynity folder, and also fully installing mobiflight connect and running it alongside the sim. I can activate Hvars and see settings change, but mobiflight evens dont turn knobs. Compared to your guide, unfortunatly i installed mobiflight fully the first time rather than just dragging the events module from the github archive into the community folder. I tried uninstalling mobiflight and just dragging, but no love. I'm working with: Flight Simulator 1.37.18.0 FSUIPC7.4.12 Mobiflight 10.1 There is nothing in my community folder except fsuipc and mobiflight. I could try an older version of mobiflight from the github archive? Any help appreciated!! Thanks! Detailed install insturctions: download install latest mobiflight connector 10.1 www.mobiflight.com/en/download.html OOPS - maybe could have download the ZIP archive from git hub and ONLY copied the mobiflight-events thing into the COMMUNITY FOLDER! duh. Will try uninstall and that method if this doenst work. download install FSUIPC. will be 7.4.12. he shows 7.2.10 fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/Install_FSUIPC7.zip Installed using installer and registered and paid. thank you. sign up for site and get the mobiflight event files: forum.simflight.com/topic/91606-using-fsuipc7-with-mobiflight-wasm-module/?_fromLogin=1 forum.simflight.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=112097 forum.simflight.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=112098 got them. Find the FSUIPC folder and copy the event files into them. Ok yeah it installed at C:\ like in this video. Copied. launched FS from .bat file. put c172 on runway, running. can see the mobiflight evens. FSUIPC sees my encoder buttons. Open FSUIPC from taskbar, choose assing, move button, click select for fs control, choose mobifligght g530 right large button decrease, click ok, turn button, nothing happens.
Hey @roospense I will talk a look into this. I have not been having problems with mine.
Hey Jno this is awesome. I'm having trouble getting it work however - do you know if it still works with FS Flight Simulator 1.37.18.0, FSUIPC7.4.12, Mobiflight 10.1 which are the latest as of 5/29/2024? I followed you instructions and i can see the mobiflight events in FSUIPC and my button presses appear in FSUIPC but when i assign them no knobs move on the 530 or 430 in the C172. Any help appreciated!
Good walk through and tips!
how do u programm all the switches? is the Teensy controller acting as a game controller within windows, by which you can directly assig all the switches to their functions inside the flight simulator? (so no additonal software needed for programming?)
Check out my other video where I give instructions on how to do it. ua-cam.com/video/YbJTERSfEqU/v-deo.htmlsi=XZPQ_1rCipZsD-n2
Hi, just wanted to say thanks. I used your instructions and layout for the tracker. But instead soldering LEDs, i bought a Christmas LED chain for 2 bucks in a $/€ Store and cut it to my needs. Works like a charm and can ,use 2 AA rechargeable batteries too. Using it with Elite Dangerous. Best advise was the exposure setting. Cheers from Berlin Germany
does it not require some special software?
No, it doesn't. I use voice meeter potato.
I'd love to see more detail on how to get things working with the microcomputer

Nice clear layout with good functionality. A very good design, thank you for sharing with everyone, you're a very kind gentleman.
Wonderfull job, I love it! Congratulations!!!😁
the wood is too large, vibrations wil dissipate on it, also mounting with double sided tape is an awful idea, not only you get cushioning in between, it will get loose with time. A more secure way to mount them ios with an L bracket or angle between the seat and wheel mount, ideally a metal sheet for mounting the shaker, but a wood piece could work too. I think its better a single bigger shakers for chair and a small one like that for pedals, having more shakers is so you can separate the effects so they dont saturate with so many things. Now if you are going to use just audio for them, still not sure using 2 is better than a single bigger one.
hello, well done, could you tell me which font do you have for write on your vinyl and keep inside letter "A" or "R" or "D"
Hello, check out my other video ua-cam.com/video/8VSaGsgEKSQ/v-deo.html I explain how to do it.
That was great!
brilliant
EXCELLENT, nice transducers, those caps tend to rattle, so i just remove them.
Nah..shit video
Uuuggghh..WHY do they let their shitty kids do voice overs 😑
How did you remove the screw caps?
I used a pin. I realize that I did not show that part after I uploaded the vid. Hope the video was helpful.
how do you get the apps in the virtual input?
I wonder if it will work with DCS... 🙃
Can you please help me elaborate on the dual rocker switches? I have those switches and no matter what I try, I neither get the built in light nor the signal to Arduino. Appreciate any help / guidance you can provide.
Hello great project I am looking to build my own and have ordered parts I was looking at your diagram and I cannot work out what switches are what, I was wondering if yo could put the switch types in the diagram? also would an Arduino micro work instead of Teensy? thanks in advance.
the main issue with this is once you get it dialed in and are only using raw sound is that the game volume effects the shaker. so turning the game down will effect the shaker, and like wise if something crazy happens, changing views or even another plane taxing upto you will have to re adjust the shaker. buttkicker offers free software for msfs that will use telemetry or actual game data to give exact sound. its on their website. there is also andre's sim shaker.
Not bad but you missed an entire section on how to set up the micro computer. What pins do what and how to even run the thing in windows. Panels and switches are self-explanatory but I have no clue how you went from there to in game inputs.
How much did that cost you?
A little over $100 for all the parts and components. There were multiple components is some packs and I did not use all of them. So the actual price is a bit less.
Good work 👍😀👍😀
Thank you @Tospol HP
Really enjoyed the video. great work. Leo Bodnar boards?
Thank you @Charlie Mancuso 👊🏽😎. I used a Teensy board and electro cookie breadboards.
I can't find it addressed anywhere on the internet, but do you think that using a HTC VIVE base station would work as an IR receiver?
Hey @TheFriendlyBandit, I don't know, I don't own a HTC VIVE. If it accepts IR inputs then it might work. I used regular LEDs for this project not IR.
@@jnobuildsit1177 thanks for the reply. I ended up finding a PS3 eye cam at a nearby disc replay for $3!
Cost?
A quick question, my Leds are barely glowing, do you have any thoughts on why this is the case, they do work when the hole room is pitch dark, andbexposure set to -6 but then it will sometimes register whites on my shirt, and glares from other points. Will point out that I'm using a 10ohm resistor instead of 28ohm and also wired in series. Amazing video BTW :)
@AReS TV what color Leds are you using? Did you check out the circuit diagram in my video description? I'm using one 82 Ohm resistor and the LEDs are wired in Parrallel.
@@jnobuildsit1177 thanks for the quick answer, I used red light, but I think I know the problem, after some research online, it seems when u connect them in series instead of parallel, u need more resist (I will reconfigure when I get home). Will get back to you
@@arestv1911 No problem. That is correct. Let me know how it turns out for you 👊🏽😎.
@@jnobuildsit1177 ok. Now I have done a lot of testing, changing the resistor from 10ohm to 360ohm and different USB cables and thicker cables between the Leds, always ended up with the same dim light. So I then went with the parallel wiring and it worked like a charm. But I still can't figure out why a series would make such a difference in power of the lights.
@@arestv1911 Great job!! In a series circuit the voltage is divided across all the components but the current remains the same (The larger the resistor, the more voltage is across it thus making the LEDs dimmer). However, in a parallel circuit the voltage remains the same across all the components but the current in based on each component's resistance (i.e. less resistance = more current = brighter LEDs). Hope this helps!! 👊🏽😎
I need some guidance on setting up voicemeeter. I'm using FSRealistic as well. I have a splitter coming out of the speaker port on my computer with one cable going to my speakers and the other to my Nobsound amp. I feel the bass shaker when your video starts up but nothing within MSFS.
Hey Russ, I make my VoiceMeeter potato the primary play back device on my PC. You can do so by left-clicking on the speaker icon at the bottom right hand corner of your desktop and selecting the VoiceMeeter out put that you would like to use. Next right-click on that same speaker icon and select "Open Sound Settings" and go to "Advanced Sound Options" at the bottom of the screen and click on "App Volume and Device Preferences". This is where you can select the output for MSFS (MSFS needs to be running to do this). I recommend routing MSFS to one of the VoiceMeeter inputs (example: Voicemeeter VAIO, Voicemeeter Aux, or VAIO 3). You can route your Nobsound amp from inside the VoiceMeeter App by selecting one of the "HARWARE OUTs". I hope this helps.
@@jnobuildsit1177 I did as you suggested although I did not see the Nobsound listed as an option on the Hardware. How do I change the labels on VoiceMeeter to reflect my new mappings and what is the hot key to access the screen where I can manipulate the intensity of the bass?
Look in your sound setting for the Nobsound card that you're using. It might not be call Nobsound. To change the labels right-click on the label name.
How do I get FSRealistic into Potato? For those who use VR, what are the settings to do?
Btw leaded solder does sound scary, and you definitely don't want to breathe it in or ingest it (which you already shouldn't be ingesting it and should be soldering in a well ventilated area), but other than that it's not really dangerous. And it typically is of a much higher quality, making better joints. Obviously you don't have to and maybe you would rather not risk it, especially if you don't have access to the level of ventilation you would like, but a lot of people think leaded solder is a lot more dangerous than it actually is. Look into it more if you are hesitant; I don't like to blindly trust safety info from the internet without looking into it further either so no offense would be taken lol. But yeah this looks like an awesome project! I've been wanting to do something similar for a while now but have been scared I won't be able to finish the project... Mostly because I want to 3d print my button box and my 3d printer is a bit temperamental when it comes to needing any amount of precision lol... But now I'm realizing I can just make it out of wood, which will also make it look a lot nicer too!
Thank for info. I agree that in either case the soldering should be done in a well ventilated area. I do have lead solder, but prefer to use lead free for smaller projects. Thank you for checking out the vid. I think you should go ahead and build your box, it is totally worth it. 👊🏽😎
@@jnobuildsit1177 Yeah sadly I can't start one right now because I'm at college and dorm rooms don't exactly have ventilation haha but definitely I'm going to start on a button box when I get back for winter break! I can't wait to get started!
Hello Jon, I Wanna ask a question for flight simming projects like this. How do you pair led lights along with switches and not burn the usb board? and how does a breadboard help and what does it do
Hello Mr. Vaggelis, great question. The USB (Teensy) board that I'm using has it's own 3.3VDC output which powers the LEDS and therefore will not burn out. The switches on are just simple conductors that interupt the path of current to the LEDs and do not affect thevoltage. The bread board is good for keeping your project organized and neat. It allows you to connect different components like switches, LEDs, Potentiometer (knobs) Teensy board, wires, and etc. together.
Incredible work, I would really enjoy a project like that.
@SVSunnyJim thank you!
I was already using OpenTrack in conjunction with AI Track face tracking. But that is often glitchy and freaks out when it detects an other face. This is very useful and I will definitely be building it. Cheers.
Thank you @Akash05Plays, go for it. I use mine every time I fly and it works like a champ. Cheers!
@@jnobuildsit1177 I already have some blue LEDs, I assume that is also fine as the OpenTrack has the option to select blue light as well (where you selected red)
@@alias555aka yes blue will work just fine. Just select blue in OpenTrack as you mentioned. Let me know how it turns out.
