Off the Grid is a new, futuristic battle royale game developed by Gunzilla Games and directed by filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (known for District 9). Set to release in 2024, the game takes place on Teardrop Island, a dystopian tropical landscape scarred by a history of corporate warfare. The game combines PvP (Player vs Player) and PvE (Player vs Environment) elements, allowing players to take part in missions while also battling other players.
With matches featuring up to 150 players, the game allows for intense combat scenarios where players can swap out cybernetic limbs from fallen enemies or discover new ones throughout the map. Off the Grid also includes a deep 60-hour narrative campaign that unfolds alongside the battle royale gameplay, a unique twist for this genre.
The game is built using Unreal Engine 5, bringing cutting-edge graphics, and features customisable weapons, vehicles, and high-tech gadgets like jetpacks. Off the Grid will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but it is not releasing for previous-gen consoles.
